how to defrost a freezer / thaw freezer ice safely

Defrosting a freezer in winter can be a challenge but it is still doable. We used heat tranfer from water to the surrounding interior to raise the temp and thaw the ice.

If your unit has two off switches for both fridge and freezer, you can just turn off the freezer, instead of pulling the plug
