It´s a beautiful tradition and as weird as it sounds it´s a celebration, not a sad day. We remember the things they used to like and funny anecdotes, how much we love them, and all the things they taught us. I loved your reaction to Coco, you seem like a sweet lady. God bless you!! 🥰😚

In Ecuador people (mostly elders) put a very simple altar (photo and candle) in the Day of the Dead. People go to the cemeteries to clean the tomb and spend some time. I always went with my mom to what she called "the cemeteries tour" and was nice to watch all the people bringing speakers and radios to play the favourite music of their loved ones, even some bring mariachis, mostly to mom's graves (Yes, Amor Eterno is a must) We have also a specific traditional dish "a colada morada" and a "guagua de pan" that all loved. But, how the day is lived in Mexico is sooooo incredible, so many symbols, so many diverse activities.

Ernesto can't die in the Land of the Dead, because so many people remember him.

@@axelterritory95 Also it's hard to believe that *everyone* both in the Land of the Living and in the Land of the Dead will believe Hector's version of the story. We see that in real life constantly. He will forever have a bunch of fans who will believe his side of the story no matter what and, even if no one did, they would *still* remember him. If you watched this movie without tears, you're not human. This movie came out during a really bad time in my life as my great grandmother was unfortunately lying on her deathbed. I spoke with her while she was still somewhat cohessive and she told me she wanted to watch it with me. But once we finally got the chance she was unfortunately mentally distant from everyone, not remembering us, and at times hallucinating. I couldnt even watch the film until years after her passing. So on top of it hitting close to home, it hits an even more sensitve emotion just due to my experience getting to see it the first time.

From a cultural standpoint, Coco means the world to me. The sheer respect for Mexican culture in this movie is just incredible. The music, the food & the preparations for The Day Of The Dead. The culture itself is part of who I am and it's very important, as is the message of the importance of family. Also, the customs agent in The Land Of The Dead was portrayed by funnyman Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias.

My favorite animated movie. I've watched it so many times. It's so emotional but at least in a satisfying way at the end. I usually start crying around Miguel being thrown into the sinkhole and I don't stop crying much until it's over. Even at small parts. The part that gets me the absolute MOST is the end when Miguel is singing and it shows skeleton Mama Coco with her arm around her living daughter, leaning her head on Elena's shoulder. The way Elena treats Mama Coco throughout the movie, shows how much she really adores her mother. The very few scenes that those 2 have together makes me miss my own mom. She was my best friend. As tough as abuelita is for her family, I adore the way she treats her mom. I bet they were best friends also.

Even if Ernesto gave Miguel his blessing, it wouldn’t have worked cuz they’re not family. He was willing to do it (before Miguel found out his secret) cuz they both thought they were related. Someone pointed out when Imelda is giving Miguel her blessing, the petal lit up, meaning the magic was working. But when Ernesto gives Miguel his blessing, the petal doesn’t light up. If he hadn’t been interrupted, they would’ve realized that they weren’t related because it wouldn’t have worked

to me it shows a lot of detail in emotional nuance of how generational trauma is very impactful, that imelda does not forgive hector immediately once hearing that he was poisoned while trying to come back to her, because she does have a valid point. he still left her in the first place, even if he ended up regretting it. for her, she lived her entire life feeling that he'd left her and their daughter without a care in the world, and even believed it long after she died. I think its very realistic that it would take time to process that the way she's been feeling up until now, while understandable, is no longer serving her in the new but current reality where she has a chance to really get his side of what went down and maybe release these feelings of resentment she's rightfully had for decades. most people would still have emotional processing to do, and questions they've likely had for a long time they'd want answered before truly forgiving him.

We might know it's something that happens naturally but we prefer to believe they come to visit us for just one day, this movie it was so accurate and I think all Mexicans cry even more than others countries because we all know that day is really important specially if you already lost someone you loved. I think it was a Disney comic or short book about Coco that said she didn't approve of her mother, Imelda's, ban on music. She secretly loved music just like her father did. She even danced and snuck out to hear the plaza musicians. After she married and had children Coco suffered an injury while dancing and she saw how worried her daughters were for her. After that she stopped and didn't say anything about the music ban of her mother and children.

It's not yet explained why, but there are many possibilities, but some people in a state like her may "wake up" when hearing some music from their past, they can speak normally and respond to questions for a few minutes before reverting to the state they were before.

Very nice reaction to one of the best movies that is one of my favorites and I also cried when I watched it. I loved your reaction to a movie that shows something of what our Mexican culture is and I also cried again with you when remembering such a beautiful movie

I remember going into the theater on a random weekday thinking this was going to be another fun Pixar movie. I couldn't have ever been prepared to full on sob in public the way I did that day.

I have watched only one video of you and I'm in love!!! Your reactions are so adorable and authentic. One movie recommendation would be The Neverending Story that was made back in 1984. It's a lovely kids fantasy movie, a bit dark, but it has an important message. It radiates the 80s energy a lot but it's still timeless. I personally love 80s movies.

Adding if you have already seen the movie, I'd be very glad you'd have, that movie is one of the coolest movies ever and it captures the feeling of the inner child waking up.

Beautiful movie. What’s eerie is this is probably a real life common story for many Mexicans 😢 referring to Hector’s story

Great reaction! This film so amazing that I could see it on Broadway someday. If your needing some Disney films to react to, might I recommend these underrated ones: Treasure Planet, Atlantis, Pete’s Dragon (1977), Pollyanna, The Swiss Family Robinson, The Biscuit Eater, The Parent Trap (Hailey Mills or Lindsey Lohan), and Mighty Joe Young.
