Breath of the Wild's Hyrule Castle theme is one of the greatest songs I have heard in any Zelda game or perhaps any game. The reason it's so amazing is because of its layers. You have the amazing base theme of Hyrule Castle refined and sounding so damn good already but then you have the layers of themes layered in. The piano keys the dance up and down sound almost exactly like the piano tone you hear when you run into guardians. The piano is the Calamity that is plaguing the castle. Then you have the creepy eerie theme mixed into the marching band drums in the background that reminds you that Hyrule's guards that once held their ground in the castle were all wiped out. Do not even get me started on how the music tone slightly changes when you are outside vs inside. If I remember correctly when you are inside and especially near the library (full of books detailing Zelda's journey), Zelda's Lullaby is layered in. This rendition is a genius. This is how you do the score to a final area in a franchise that has been around for years.

It's really heroic. It's like an epic is being told to descendants from days of old. I love how they done the song because it's also a battle of the ages.
The begining of Hyrule Castle for Botw sounded like marching, and continues. As if your marching to your final destination (to which you are, if you choose to). Or perhaps the marching of the dead (those in the kingdom who have fallen to the calamity).
I went in with 8 hearts through the back and randomly raided the place.I never found the shrines there tho cause I’m a bit of a wimp.thats weird,I’m brave irl...😅😅😅
After spending the whole game used to ambiental, immersive music, feels great to finally get an heroic melody playing to make you feel like you're making history. The vast world of the game is not overtaking Link anymore, it's the other way around.

The twilight princess tower music is one of my favorites in the whole series. How gannon’s theme slowly grows as you ascend until it overtakes the main melody. Pure genius
I’ll never get over how fucking epic botw’s outside hyrule castle theme is. Absolutely amazing and so atmospheric, considering how little music there is in that game, that song is like the best reward in the game.
I find it interesting that the ALTTP hyrule castle theme was originally epic, powerful, and motivating, and now any time you hear it in any of the more modern games is just straight up depressing.
the breath of the wild theme is probably my favorite rendition of hyrule castle. also the drums to sound like soldiers marching? 11/10. Also the theme literally screams: lol get ready to get lost and die and be a bit scared
Minish Cap's Dark Hyrule Castle version is SOO underrated. It's probably my favorite. Also, I love how the TP version adds Ganon's theme by the time you're at the top.
YES! Breath of the Wild of course has a fantastic soundtrack in general, and I feel like Link Between Worlds is underrated. I honestly didn't expect it to be so good.

Having played ALTTP as a kid, the Hyrule Castle theme is the one with which I discovered Zelda. It is aired even before the light world theme in what I still consider the most epic opening in the series. Later when I was in my 20's and I played Wind Waker, I was overwhelmed by a huge feeling of nostalgia when I recognized it, delicately rearranged in a slower version, like a past glorious world getting uncovered from dust. It is for those moments of pure emotions that I'm so much in love with Zelda. This is just pure Art.
Goddamn Wind Waker is something special. While I love BofW fo its intimidating yet heroic sound, you can hear the heaviness from the past in the music in Wind Waker. You can feel Ganon's regret, sadness, and longing for that "wind" from Hyrule and his desire to stop at nothing to obtain it; and the destruction of Hyrule while maintaining the royal-ness of the castle that once was a hundred years before.
Bro I even felt bad for gonondorf and the king of hyrule, I can’t get farewell king hyrule off my mind so much that I even learned how to play it on the piano😭❤️
Can't belive i'm saying this but the hyrule castle theme in botw is the best theme out them all. It made me feel as though i was a lone hero thats only one crazy/brave enough to storm the haunted hyrule castle. When the heros theme kicks in it really feels like you fighting to the top against all odds
I love how most of the versions that are based in alttp's version have the opening flourish used somewhere in the game as well, its such a good detail.
I cannot get over how brilliant twilight princess hyrule castle theme is. It first gives you the original on just a wind instrument, but later transforms into ganondorfs theme, even at the very beginning of the puece it doesnt go into hyrule castles C section but instead has ganondorfs themes main melody. The closer you get to the top, the more it transforms into ganondorfs theme, building up more and more. Not unlike ocarina of times ganons tower actually. Clear inspiration but it turns out brilliant in TP because of how it blends so perfectly with two melodies. I will continue to say that Koji Kondo is a genius.
I think there’s also a “folk version” of Hyrule Castle Theme you can pay rupees to hear performed at the Milk Bar (they do some of my favorite in-game version)...but I can’t remember if they perform Lorule Castle or not
Windwaker' Hyrule Castle tracks are so sad because the kingdom we all knew and loved in OoT is forever sealed under the Great Sea and knowing many of Link's friends and allies perished
Knowing what we know about BotW2, that organ in the Hyrule Castle interior theme feels like Ganondorf taunting you. Even if you defeat the Calamity, he’s just a phantom. You haven’t saved anything, you just prolonged the inevitable: Ganondorf’s return.
Windwaker theme just reminded me of the fright I felt seeing the enemies come alive. Once, I got surrounded by a bunch of phantoms and just closed my eyes and ears, waiting for me to die.
Oh my god the fact that the first two versions in windwaker only play 2/3rds of the theme, makes it so INTENSE when the king of hyrule's theme (piano version) finally plays that final part
BOTW’s exterior theme for Hyrule Castle gives a feel of “I’m almost there. I’ve got soldiers helping me and supporting me.” And I think it’s because of the marching that’s in the background. The interior theme however is _really_ sad, as if there’s a heartbeat in the back, speeding up until it just doesn’t beep anymore and I wanna say that it gives a feel of Zelda calling out for Link like “Link help me, I can’t hold out much longer...” and it just hurts.
I too enjoy the LTTP and BOTW themes very much, but I also want to give the Wind Waker theme a shout out. All three of these themes are great because of when they are first heard. The LTTP one is at the beginning of your adventure, you're storming the castle to save the princess. It has the appropriate epic energy to get you fired up for that quest. The Wind Waker one happens when you are exploring the time frozen remains of the place, and has the proper quiet and discomforting ambience to match the scene. And BOTW of course, you're on your way to the final battle. You've spent all that time and effort powering up, collecting memories, getting all the supplies and weapons you can, and now shit is about to get real. The most epic as fuck plow through the broken castle with enemies everywhere calls for the most epic of themes, with not only the more energized and pounding "Ganon's Tower" thing, but it also has the more tragic sounding part that's a callback to the original theme, sort of a reminder that the timeless kingdom is in deep shit right now and you're the only one who can do anything about it.
The remaster of the alttp theme from albw is my favourite. It is definitely one of my favourite songs in the series next to the dark world theme and the lost woods/forest of mystery theme (alttp/albw)
It’s actually a remastered version of “Ballad of the Windfish” from Link’s Awakening, with bits of the hero’s theme, Ganon’s theme, and Zelda’s theme mixed in. Which, you could say that Ballad of the Windfish is an extremely distorted version of Zelda’s usual theme (sorta like Sheik’s and Tetra’s and Hylia’s themes...who turned out to be Zelda, or Aryl’s theme who got mistaken as Zelda (sorta like Marin, who’s the one to sing/teach BotWF))
Does anyone else notice how in the BOTW Hyrule Castle theme you can at one point hear the "alarm" sounds a Guardian makes when it has seen you but can't any more?
Love all the others, but ALttP and it's remix in ALBW will always be the one for me. Nothing I love better than the intense trek up Hyrule Castle, racing to save the princess, only to find you're too late and can only do battle with Agahnim
For me, it was Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild's castle that gave more life to their castles compared to the other ones IMO. With TP having different variations depending on the place you're in. When you first enter is feels, alone. And the music FIts it perfectly. You know there's no one there, everyone has abandoned the castle. But the more you move up, the more you feel the danger creeping on you, more difficult monsters and they are more than ready to gang up on Link. And once you start reaching the top, while hearing Ganondorf's theme you know he's waiting for you at the top of the castle. There's a lingering panic that shifts the more you move up and you know, shit's about to go down. This is it. Link's now ready to face his final enemy and save Hyrule. With BOTW it's ALL about survival. For the outside: The sound of march shows you, that all your struggles are about to end, whether it be the travel because the player decided to get there first, or you released all the Divine Beasts and is now ready to liberate Zelda from her 100 year battle against the calamity. This song makes you feel like you accomplished everything and you're the Champion Hyrule needs after 100 of years of suffering. For the inside: You know there's a threat, but it feels almost... too calm. Inside you feel a warmth hidden under all the malice because you know Zelda is keeping the calamity at bay, so there's a slight relief but you know one bad move and it's all over.

You're missing the scene in Twilight Princess when Zant storms the castle with the nightmare beasts. It's a pretty great short version of the main theme!
BOTW's is easily the best. Holy shit is it good. The marching layered into it just absolutely sells it for me. I fucking lost it when I heard this song in game going to Ganon. Never felt more empowered in a game before.
BoTW has my favourite theme. It's defintely 1, way above all others. Oot hyrule castle is catchy and nostalgic. Wind Waker's one is creepy and omnious. I don't know what one is 7:17 but I love that one.

Hyrule castle Zelda breath of wild #1
The very intro ❤️ I LOVE TWILIGHT PRINCESS
Does anyone else notice how in the BOTW Hyrule Castle theme you can at one point hear the "alarm" sounds a Guardian makes when it has seen you but can't any more?
These songs remind you that hyrule castle is magnificent
When I come home after a long day at work.......I demand this be the song as I enter
1. Wind Waker
2.Breath of the Wild
3.Twilight Princess
Lorude's castle is one of the most underather ost, it's just beautiful
I've been waiting a long time for this!
Lorule Castle will always be my favourite.
Botw hyrule castle theme is just my favourite in all the songs in Botw...its just perfect, change my mind
Lorule castle is a freaking banger!
I have never heard ganon's tower theme before and now I am spooped as heck
Top 5 hyrule castle themes

Thank you for this!
The twilight princess hyrule castle’s theme is the best and my fav, mixing ganondorfs theme and hyrules was genius 🔥🔥
A Link Between Worlds is THE best one by far.
man, i started with the one in alttp . that was legit the first game i ever played and this theme along with the dark world theme stuck with me(aside from the main theme duh). everytime i hear any version im catapultzed back to being 4 years old and playing on a snes. good times guys, good times.
well i had t pause multiple times while playing twilight princess hyrule castle because i coudlnt see shit, there was so much nostalgia in the theme, i cried more than i played
Awesome collection
This is such a great video thank you!
BOTW is the best one
Inside Ganon's Castle from OoT,is easily the most deranged, twisted and h*cked up theme by far
Who else thought that master mode Ganon would be a little easier than it really was?
A link to the past might of introduced hyrule castle but wind waker introduced the iconic theme of the castle
Good job! Thanks for this amazing video
my favorites are
1. BOTW Hyrule Castle
2. OOT Ganon's Tower
3. Minish Cap Dark Hyrule Castle
4. Lorule Castle
5. ALTTP Hyrule Castle
You're missing the scene in Twilight Princess when Zant storms the castle with the nightmare beasts. It's a pretty great short version of the main theme!
Thanks for the hint!
12:43 BEST, And I didnt play W.W. ALttP Is the original one, but not the best. One of the best. Botw IS ALSO REALLY GOOD, Between that one and W.W
Also Minish CAP DARK one IS good
Spirit Tracks IS Nice too, but IS not a Hyrule Castle song, isn't in Ganons Power.
Between World Not Pacífic IS REALLY GOOD, but is diferent xD
Like If said, Lorule IS like Spirit Tracks, not a "real Castle theme".
There are a lot Of Epic one, I have to correct, Between Worlds Lorule IS REALLY COOL, a pitty that IS not a Hyrule castle
I like the ocarina of time, wind waker, minnish cap, Twilight princess, Link between world's lowrule & Breath of the wild themes!
BOTW's is easily the best. Holy shit is it good. The marching layered into it just absolutely sells it for me. I fucking lost it when I heard this song in game going to Ganon. Never felt more empowered in a game before.
I didn't realize until listening to it here that Wind Waker's version sounds like it'd fit right into the Banjo-Kazooie soundtrack.
Huh, I never realized until now, but the Ocarina of Time Castle Courtyard theme is a variation on the main Hyrule Castle theme
My favorite theme is definitely Breath of the Wild (Wish I can play it soon)
BoTW has my favourite theme. It's defintely 1, way above all others.
Oot hyrule castle is catchy and nostalgic.
Wind Waker's one is creepy and omnious.
I don't know what one is 7:17 but I love that one.
Breath of the Wild, Twilight princess, and a link between worlds(lorule) are the best ones in my opinion.
I love this collection of castle themes, especially the inclusion of all the reprises & alternate themes!
Thank you! :3
