You can’t convince me that this whole game was NOT the result of a bet between Aonuma and Koji Kondo about whether he could make a banger theme based around the banjo.
Me neither. I've been in a 6 week long hyperfixation that picked up where I left off like a few years ago from the LAST time I was hyper fixated on spirit tracks lol
I absolutely love that the first few notes of the main LOZ overworld theme are heard in other overworld themes in the series that are different, or ones that are not full reuses of the original song: (I.e. Ocarina of Time at 9:21, Wind Waker at 18:26, and Twilight Princess at 28:01). Always reminds you that each individual Link’s grand quest is tied to that good vs evil reincarnation cycle defined by the series timeline.
ALTTP Dark World theme Is my favorite, but ALTTP has always been my favorite game. The orchestral version of the Dark World theme that is on the 25th anniversary Symphony disc is amazing.
I've been playing these games for over thirty years, I can't be expected to pick one Lorule 1 Twilight Princess HD (not featured) Spirit Tracks Link's Awakening Ocarina of Time
Ocarina of Time was my first Zelda game. However, There will never be another time where the sweet sound of lead saxophone sweeps over my ears like a majestic bird, and I stop everything I’m doing unless I am playing Tears of the Kingdom. My favorite game of all time.
This is amazing!!! Would it be possible to add Wind Walker’s Cursed Great Sea theme to this video as well as the idle tracks for both the normal and cursed great sea themes?
All the personality from title to title, and then the open air games with random piano blips and also sharing the same exact riding theme. Not to mention their best songs besides overworld themes are just remakes of iconic themes from previous titles. What happened man
The point of these open world Zelda overworld themes is not to be triumphant and bombastic, they're meant to be quiet, lonely, and reserved, maybe even a tad bit unnerving. This is a Hyrule in decay, and while the nature is calming, there's still this persistent sadness to what has happened 100 years ago. It still has a personality of its own, it just likes to speak with its silence.
If you make another one of these, could you also throw in the GBA remake of a Link to the Past? I mean if you have the HD remakes of the others then why not?
I mean they did add new content to the game like the Palace of the Four Sword and gave the GBA version other little quality of life adjustments so it’s not just a straight port of the SNES game. But even if it’s just an enhanced port or remaster, I don’t see why it can’t be included if the other remakes which sound pretty much identical to their original release can be.
Why not trifore heores ? The hytopia theme from this game is very good and the town where this Theme Played is here the " overworld " i mean 😊😊 Sorry for my bad Englisch, i'm 😮from Germany 😅😅
If I'm being honest because I have a disgusting tendency of listening to any other music when I play games, I could've sworn TotK has the same Hyrule Field theme as BotW.
Just from comparing the new and earlier renditions, I don't ever want to hear someone defending BOTW/TOTK ost again. Yeah it's fine but it's just not nearly as amazing as it once was
@@jumentoqueanima Listened to it with an open mind and it's just dragon roost island but less good. Not bad by any means, but as I said, not nearly as amazing
@@jumentoqueanima Yeah. I will say that music has a lot more impact during gameplay, so I may not have the best viewpoint of those tracks in my scenario
They only "suck" if you expect games like BotW/TotK to convey the same things as the older games, which they shouldn't. Previous Zelda games had some exploration but the story and gameplay was mostly linear and that fit along with music that would give a sense of purpose and urgency. The newer games feel more natural and open and with a larger sense of exploration, so the music should be more quiet and feel like a natural part of the experience. The music has more atmosphere and mystery to it, just like the game. Notice how the most "theme" music we get with those games is the horse riding music, because when youre riding a horse it usually means you want to get around faster, bringing back that sense of urgency that requires a more basic theme.
god- i was just saying i disliked the music not the games... anyways I basically am a HUGE music person, so if a game is good it has to have a good story, or good music, and most of the old zelda games had a good story AND good music, so it kinda disappointed me a bit but still good story@@YouShotMarvin
@@bobfizh My point was that the music is still an expression of the game, and the overworld themes they use in BotW/TotK perfectly express how the games feel. I'm not knocking your opinion, only saying that the music should be judged on the merits of how it serves the game that its made for and not how it compares to the music of the previous titles. Would you really want to hear louder more purposeful sounding music looping at the foreground while you go around exploring a big map for hours and hours?
Comes back just to update the video with the new game and vanishes until next release.
Fucking *CHAD*
And to think that the last version of this video was uploaded 6 years ago. I really needed a version with TOTK. ❤

I love those two.

@@pietroalessandrini To be fair, there is more to these cersions than just a faster tempo. The new instrumentation and B sections count for a lot.

Hyrule Field from Twilight Princess is my favorite!
I remember when you could call the Nintendo customer support hotline and the theme while on hold was OOT overworld theme .. so cool 👌👌
It bears repeating; Nintendo *_used_* to be cool
Still can't get over spirit tracks
I never released what a bangin' track it was (no pun intended, but I'll take it).
I love the Old West flavor to it

Link's Awakening 2019 is a masterclass on how to re-envision a classic, and the music is no exception.
this hurts my heart... to remember the good times... to have to go out and adult now... sadge

Windwaker sailing over world theme always gives me chills
Honestly I love them all but for me twilight Princess over world theme is unbeatable. So amazing

I always listen to the one you posted six years ago for homework but was totally missing the Link’s Awakening remake theme, so happy you updated it!
27:40 we all gotta agree that this part of the hyrule field theme amongst all the zelda games is the goat
Wow I love spirit tracks' theme. Panflute + train chugging? 👌

Man, that bass in the Twilight Princess theme does mess around 😄
Omg you are back 🥺
Nostalgia☺️
This just goes to show that it's impossible for Nintendo to miss with an overworld theme in this series
i needed this sooo bad! Listening to this as I run across TotK Hyrule.

I think the theme of Dephts in Zelda Totk is very great
It reached its peak at Majora imo
You are out here doing the ancient goddess's work.
Oracle Of Ages Labrynna Past probably one of the most beautiful Zelda default themes (yk what I mean)
2:45 best song in the series

Skyward Sword reminds me of Jurassic Park, Star Trek and some other things I can't quite put my finger on.

It reminds me a lot of a John Williams score!
