Story 1 Once you are in prison doesn't matter which country you're in most of your rights were left at the door. Just how you are treated is the big difference from country to country
In the US, fire inspectors/fire marshals are bureaucratic gods. If they say stop, you stop and you have no recourse. If nothing else, the people who contacted the fire inspector were smarter than most.
Prison story Australia: News flash...the U.S. prison system is all that and then some...it's not proprietary to be malicious to prisoners of the state. P.S. There are far worse prisons to be sent to, such as ones in Mexico and other third world countries where prisoners would think Ozzy and Merkin prisons were the Hyatt and Marriott hotels.
I think tho the story he was trying get at was the failure of parents or other adults to install the correct way to exist in society. Not how hard or easy a prison system is or is not.
Comparing the Australian prisons I know, to the US prisons on tv I think - WTF? Where’s the security? No wonder they have issues with guards running around with keys to steal. It looks like the TSA has better security than a ‘merikan prison. It’s safer working in an Aussie prison than working with the public.
*Second Story:* I love stories like this! And it's the same in the US; prison officers _do_ have the right to force you to strip, shower, take away your things, etc. *Last Story:* Good that Lucy got to keep Maria after moving into a new place. And even better that Karen got screwed in the end. Don't mess with someone's pet!
Story 2 - entitled people don’t last very long in Prison, because they soon realize that they’re not the ‘Big Dog in the Yard’ and that they’re not ‘Billy BadAss’, because they either get an ‘Attitude Adjustment’ from the other inmates or they have an ‘accident’ in the shower and end up falling on a shiv or shank 25+ times
Prison: well said. When a child is told, “If you X, I will Y” and the adult follows through, particularly if the child responds, “You aren’t big enough.” The child learns boundaries.
And now we know how Karen got money to buy the properties: scamming little old ladies & skimming off the rent. I would have refused to sign the papers in the first place
Prisoner story: Prisoner rights in the US are similar to Australia. And actually, the prisoners in US prisons are treated terribly. Even though prisonors are there because they broke the law, they don't deserve to be treated as bad as they are. Prisons in the US are not correctional facilities. There is no corrections going on. Just abuse.
Idk, the prison story seems to assume a lot. Sure, most of these people who act entitled *are* entitled brats, but you have no idea whether this is the fault of the parents or if they even have parents.
In the story about the Australian prison news flash in America once you become a prisoner you have no right you are now property the state or the federal government
At my IT Department I volunteered to be my floor's Floor Warden, to make sure all fire safety rules and regs are followed. So one fine day the Christmas Dinner design committee let me see their design idea for the table decor. Hmmm.... open candles on each of a couple dozen tables..... "Sorry, cannot use open flame!" They bought a bunch of those electric lightbulb candles. 😄
That last piece makes no sense at all to me. A SSDI check was stated and I'm not even sure what department of the GP would be of. There's section 8 housing another program but I can't think of it off top my head nevermind I don't think I want to try to wrap my head around this.
In North Carolina all food fed at the prisons comes from farms that the prisoners are working on, and they are on state property. Prison farms are very much active in the United States in every state. Every prisoner that is physically able to will work, whether it's a state prison or a federal prison, nobody sits around all day and does nothing.
Me-- oooo she making bank with social security! “Isn’t much to live on” Me- ummm they give me 199 a month for my disability I’m supposed to live on. I’ll take the 800
Rents in my city are at least $700 to $800 a month. How could Lucy pay for groceries, toiletries, or bills after that? And less than $200??? You have my sympathy. 😥
The second story was by far the most interesting. It should be like that here in Canada. Here we have the impression that prisoners are in a Club Med and we pay for there little comfort with our taxes. Usually (not too say always) those creeps serve the sixth of their sentence😳🙄🫤.
First story: How does OP know if the person who made the call had a grill on their balcony? Maybe they had none of the offending items, and everyone else had to pay the price.
Sorry they don't understand Australia does not believe in human rights, only in human privileges, which will be taken away whenever the government feels they have a right/need to do so
My younger brother was a jail bird since he was 16, after mom and dad divorced when he was 9yrs. A critical time when a young male needs his father more than his mother. After dad left since he was the baby he was babied by women who couldn't teach how to be a man, he instead learned how to use women . Yes he was entitled, and spoilt, and us grown up siblings gave him everything because we thought we could compensate for him not having dad around. I see the damage we done now. We gave him a false sense of entitlement and we all over compensated to provide for him. When liberals say that fathers aren't needed in a young male's life I beg to differ. My brother did sort out his life, got the male influence and hard love he needed, by the other males in his life, and yes I do think the times he spent in jail did him some good.
Story 2: A lot people in the US need to learn that lesson, instead of being made POTUS.
Seems to me like Lucy's dog would be considered as emotional support, and it would be illegal to deny her keeping it.
I’m so glad Lucy got her dog back.

the worst prison is The Black Dolphin Prison in Siberia

In the USA they make you president...

Did anyone else notice that the house in the thumbnail was the house from the original Charmed show?
I was checking the comments to see if someone else noticed xD

Lucy got her dog back; a happy ending.

Hello RedWheel hope you are well. Thanks for sharing. Please stay safe.🏴😷😁👍. Have a great day and a wonderful week ahead everyone
Good morning!

Or if they were screwed over like those kids in Pennsylvania

I’m kinda surprised. The last prison farm in the US was in southern Georgia and closed in the 1960’s

No malicious compliance, although the first one has some leopard ate my face.
So in your language Malicious Compliance means entitled and entitled also means entitled, OK
First story: How does OP know if the person who made the call had a grill on their balcony? Maybe they had none of the offending items, and everyone else had to pay the price.
I wonder if @RedWheel will find some good prison stories to give us.
Good morning LP, I hope you have a great rest of your day friend!
Sorry they don't understand Australia does not believe in human rights, only in human privileges, which will be taken away whenever the government feels they have a right/need to do so
I'm glad your dad got them by their short and curly hairs
Good morning RedWheel
Good morning all my friends
Good morning!
I don’t know what you’ve heard about the US but inmates don’t have special rights here. I bet it’s the same if not harder than Aussie jails
It's not small minded its "I'm going to do what I want" but they don't think about if they get caught or the consequences
I don’t know what state has food AND internet available for $300/mo
$300 a month for food for one person.... doable.
Add in internet? Nope, not where I live.
Good morning Redwheel. Thanks for the stories. Rude awakening for someone who got caught breaking the law.
