In the last story I'm sure the lawyer knew how it was going to play out. The client was probably adamant about going forward with the law suit. Plus he still gets paid, so the longer things take & the more work he has to do the more he gets paid. So just an easy pay day for him

With the flat story. If the flat being empty why didn’t the real estate agent park there? He must have allowed the potential renters park there. ?! Anyway, knowing that the agent has no decency and parks where he wants, that’s a flaw in his honesty, so what else is he hiding?

@@zuzax1656 Yes lawyer definitely knew the outcome, but decided that this still would be billable hours, and definitely was going to bill the maximum he could as well. Railways lawyers, they love these cases, it gets them out into a courtroom for days at a time, gets them good results in the annual assessment, and of course they are on retainer or are outright employees of the railway, so are quite happy to drag it out as long as possible, while still keeping strict records of all billable actions for the court, when they ask the other losing party to pay fees.

I am sure they have to at least a bit, to keep everyone involved apart, until everyone is questioned. Good thing OP wasn't (I am assuming) black or brown. Train Crossing Story: ED's Lawyer didn't know how it would play out likely because ED Lied to him when he hired the Lawyer...
Personally, I think the Train Company should add Recording capability to the Gate Cameras so they have Evidence that can be sent to the Police showing who did what, when and where...so when Suicidal Idiots run the gates in the future and the gates get damaged, they now have a picture of the idiot's License Plate to track down for the Demand to pay for the Gate Repairs (and can Sue in Court when the Demand Letter is ignored)...

p.s. Red lights mean STOP, whether they are flashing or steady. You are required to STOP at a railroad crossing when the red lights START FLASHING, not after the crossing arms come down.
And you DON'T go until the lights STOP flashing, which happens AFTER the arms go back up.
This is a public service announcement that may prevent you from getting a ticket, or serious injury, or death.

Whilst I fully expect that the lawyer probably DID tell him what would happen, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that the ED didn't tell the lawyer EXACTLY what happened, but made up some BS story like "the barrier came down without any warning and hit my car".
