Just ordered the Sony Bravia B9 in the 75-inch for my bedroom and just finished Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut, incredible game 🎮 👌 I've alwats owned LG OLED's and the burn in is real. I thought i would try a Sony non OLED.

Yeah, weight is interesting - the outgoing X93L weighs 70.8 lbs without the stand and the Bravia 7 weighs 59.7. It would be fine if the Bravia had better viewing angles and better reflections. It outscores the X93L with 70,000 to 100,000 contrast and a bit more brightness but it's $400 more for almost nothing. The X95L and Bravia 9 have more brightness, better contrast, better viewing angles, and better reflections. They neutered the Bravia 7 which is their better selling product.

I love gaming and watching movies and was considering picking this up over the A95L. In your opinion which has the better picture for gaming and movies? Is there a big enough difference for it to even matter?
After having an OLED burn in, they are a no go for me. And I can get inky blacks as well that the OLED fanboys are so fond of. I can just turn my TV off. Not like there's any difference for OLED fanboys since they usually pay more attention to the pixels that are turned off than those that are turned on.
Had a feeling you couldn’t wait til the 85in dropped to see this in-person 😅 While brightness is unreal, not ready to give up on OLED, personally. Still think the 83in G4 is the top of this year w/ the S90C/S90D being the value king. Would’ve put the S95D on there, but matte kills it for me personally. Shame that Gen 3’s locked to it.. As always, appreciate the content, glad to see you back, brother. 💪
All these TVs are great, if you don't see it, don't go looking for it. I wouldn't be bothered by a little blooming anyway. Kind of a old retro look anyway. Like neon lights seen through a misty cafe window on a deep dark foggy night
Thanks TKK. Great TV and review. Try setting the local dimming to medium to reduce bloom to an insignificant level (a must with LEDs). The blacks are close to optimal/perfection. Contast and picture quality excellent. For my use case in the Caribbean, the B9 is my choice over the G4. I'm also not into gaming...just movies, sports and streaming. Keep up the good work.....we appreciate you!!!!! Bless up, bro.
I love that you did this in hdr, I’m watching on an a95l through an Apple TV 4K & it’s so crisp & bright , I can see the B9 has a great screen, look forward to finding out about the audio I love qd-oled but I try not to be too biased about it, if my eyes are correct this is extremely close, the best I have seen in a mini led, I think it’ll be a hit, look forward to the review & a comparison, though I’m done for at least 5 years if not more
Man it looks good in game mode. Another thing that surprise me is that 'Black equalizer" actually have some optional use. Normally stuff like that lifts all black until grey. But when you showcased it the hair on the guy was still black as the black bar and the surrounding room. So it just raises the shadow detail, but not going ham on blacks. The contrast and colors when you were playing from the start was great. I wouldn't want more of either to be honest. I wonder why it's so extremely dark when dark equalizer is off. Is it the ISO on the camera set low because of dark room. Because that was otherwise unplayable in how dark it was? Yes it's not OLED. But getting 2800-2900 nits (85") in game mode and outside of it will spank the F out of any OLED in those highlights especially in games since many of them you really can set the calibration for how bright your TV can get unlike graded movies. A G4 looks amazing but we know once the nits and specular highlights go a little too high the colors fade and it becomes white instead. Not going to happen on the B9. Nothing is perfect and there is trade-off in one way or another.
FYI the strength of this tv is in watching movies and streaming its the closest tv on the planet to the reference monitor to show creators intent that is what it was designed for. In gaming mode they have to lower the local diming so the imput lag can be lower , gaming mode will not be as good as watching movies. The bright HDR impact and lack of ABL will make game HDR highlights look better than an OLED but dark scenes in games will look better on OLED.
What up TKK! If you do, do the comparison for A95k vs Bravia 9 that would be great. I have the 55" A95K in my room, & I definitely think its a great TV.
Damn man. I like what I see here but you definitely got to pick your poison because no display is perfect. As always your opinion with me is the most valued in our community. Great Work once again and just think this is only your first impressions. Can't wait to see more on the Sony Bravia 9.
This tv does not bloom as bad as it does in this video over YT. The camera just doesn't react the same way our eyes do. I'd recommend seeing the tv in person. Not a fault of the reviewer either.
TKK can you compare it to your G2 OLED TV or S90C or D series tvs to start so people can see how it competes vs WOLED or entry QD OLED? Then move into comparing against G4, A95L or K and S95D. On KG’s stream, majority of people thought the Bravia 9 out performed a C4 and B4 overall in picture quality, color luminance, and processing out side of just “OLED perfect Blacks”, which obviously are not most important for content but the with just a 65 inch as well.
i think when you see it next to an OLED and SEE what is doing that cannot be achieved by OLED especially outside of gaming you will love the tv and its purpose with what it provides even more my guy
The 65" is 1512 zones and if the 85" really does have 2808 zones. That is ~1300 more zones. Almost doubling the zone count. On top of that the panel might be different again like with X95L which could mean more native contrast and different look to the bloom. The brightness tested by a guy was reaching D65 2900 nits and 2850 in game mode. I don't think that was in vivid mode. So if not then you can only imagine the nits being over 3000 in vivid. Not an OLED but you get way more brightness and also ability to retain those colors at very high nits vs a G4 as an example.
I love my C1 but man I've been thinking about those High end LCDs just to stop worrying about burn in and dead pixels and such and stop babysitting the TV.
I have the 85" x90L. It's mostly impressive and am happy with bigger and a surround sound for significantly less than OLED. I am impressed with OLED but even witt the money it's not worth the price and smaller sizes until compression and upscaling gets better with streaming. The full array and mini LEDs are very much so impressive
Can't wait for my B9 to get here. They shipped out the damn free item before the TV itself which is a bit wack lol. Also I like that the remote is rechargeable but the Sony batteries I got included with the X90J in 2020 (or 21 I don't remember) are still working fine in the remote and I haven't had to replace them yet. That being said I do use the Google TV remote on my phone quite I bit. I'd say 50/50 with the remote. Looking forward to it being smaller and backlit though. Never used the numbers at all
good video, but i woulda chosen a different game. Ghosts only goes upto peak of 1000 nits. Next time, choose a game with HDR sliders set to ~4000 to see what the TV can do with the higher brightness.
My point of an initial impressions isn’t to find something that can do 4000, I don’t care about that initially, just wanted to see how a dark game with great contrast would look.
I’m new to the channel and love it. I’m in the market for this tv in the 85 inch or the lg 83g4. Blooming in the black bars, that has me concerned and I’m a big Sony fan. I have 4 Sony oleds around my house and the big one is going in my man cave. I was really set on the 85 Bravia 9. But your review may give me pause and look at LG’s G4 83 inch. I really wish Sony made the Master series oled in an 83 and not just a 77 inch because I would have brought that immediately. I’m a heavy gamer and also a heavy movie buff, hmmmm this maybe a hard choice.
85XR90 will have the best picture quality in the 9 series line up. It has double the zones of the 65. Also Sony are marketing these TVs as Cinema comes home. Possible these TVs are suited for movie watching and not hardcore gaming. I will get the 85XR90 few months later once the dust settles and the price drops.
Looks impressive for those of us who prefer LCD televisions. Factor in the Voice Zoom 3, support for 6 Ghz WiFi and NetFlix and Prime calibrated mode and this TV is a winner. I'm sure the 85 inch is gonna be a beast and perfect for bright rooms.
RTS(Real time strategy) game setting is on. I would mess with that setting and try others in the menu to see what looks best while playing. I own 3 oleds and I am considering this also for the specular highlights but also considering the a95L.
What do you mean there is no comparing? There is. The color vibrancy destroys damn near every OLED outside of the QD-OLED models. The bright highlights kill it too. The one draw back is blooming, but in this tv it’s masked very well. I’ve never been one for blowing smoke, keep in mind I buy all my TVs alone no funding even from YT, I’m as open minded as a customer to the sport could ever be.
I think you should run it in vivid mode and crank the settings...especially on PC with the extra FPS...all games besides online shooters like COD will look better and be more Immersive in Vivid mode...you won't notice any input lag...but youll see a much better more Immersive picture...Itll get better also in 3-6months with some firmware updates for sure
You know what Mini LED is great for? Displaying Spotify in in the living room when you have friends over. Always chilling to have sth. to look at in the background.
Gaming for some reason seems to be lackluster on the Bravia 9 - once you switch out of game mode, it's several times brighter. I don't understand why it's not performing in gaming as it does in other areas. But my biggest gripe with this is the difference between this and the Bravia 7 which is also a premium TV in QD OLED price territory. They gave everything to the Bravia 9 and took it out of the Bravia 7. Better viewing angles (which are a must for premium TVs in the OLED era), better reflections, more dimming zones, and more brightness. I think 95% of us would have preferred to see the Bravia 7 be much closer to the Bravia 9. It's almost like buying a high-end AVR that does 50 watts per channel while the next model does 300 watts per channel for 60% more. Why not make the first model 100 watts per channel and the high end 150 watts per channel? At twice the price over the X90L, the Bravia 7 is not a really great value. And the Bravia 9 is not a great value either compared to the X93L (twice as expensive) or the X90L (three times as expensive).
I still have the hx850 and find it to be an amazing TV. People still comment on how good the picture is. Looking to get th A95L soon. Hard to see the jump in picture quality being that great, can't wait to be blown away.
im not impress on the picture quality in terms of gaming on this bravia 9 the most beautiful tv that i witnessed for 2024 is the Panasonic's Z95A but you don't have it in the states, what a shame...
How are the reflections and viewing angle? I was pretty settled on the 93L or Bravia 7 but the lack of both those features is making me re-think now...
Hey man, how are you? I had also thought of the Bravia 9 but unfortunately I can't do without an OLED, that's why I went with the g4 65, plus from me in Italy bravia 9 65 is not for sale
after 2 weeks couldnt just get used to mini lcd may give the 85 a go but the 75 in had really bad dse and couldnt get over the drop in contrast for people who like a brighter tv im sure it will be extremely useful
Best setting by far is professional mode for picture. There's also a setting that turns the effectiveness of the zones way up at the expense of a small amount of brightness.
I have the 55 95L the remote no battery feature has me intrigued. Do you think its enough of an upgrade from 95L? My brother gets his Bravia 9 this week
NiTKK! nice video. Could you please measure how thick (height from bottom of leg to the top of the flat steel) the legs are. I want to sit my soundbar over the legs and need to know how much i need to build up the feet of the soundbar to get over the legs. Thanks
Sonys most perplexing decision ever -for some reason we do not get the 65” version of this TV in the U.K. only the two larger sizes. When you consider that we have some of the smallest properties in Europe, it makes their decision even more baffling.
I cocur wholeheartedly. Even here in the USA 🇺🇸, most don't have rooms big enough to justify 70 plus inches of TV. The sizes should be 40, 55, 65 inches, and higher for all models. 😳
They can start off slow at times but in totality I really enjoy watching your videos! Thank you for another awesome unboxing sir. Sorry I just wanted a reason to use the word 'totality' in a sentence lol
I see blooming in my A95K and I know it isn't, I see blooming at night when cars are coming in the opposite direction or whenever I look at a street light. My doctor says the blooming is created in your brain because of the brightness perception, I forgot the name but anyways very bright images will make you see blooming if is created by the TV or not. Great TV and thank you for covering, I'll definitely buy this for my living room
@@falsehope5529 Nah, light bleeds into things in real life. Especially bright lights. It doesn't just cut off. I'd say that a mild amount of blooming actually makes an image more realistic. I'm not coping, I feel like it creates and effect of the image going a bit beyond the screen. OLED always looks somewhat unnatural to me actually (and some people around me have highly praised OLED TV's like the Sony A80K and the LG C3).
b9 looks good and possibly the best mini led. its not oled and no mini led will be. its just different technology but that doesn't mean lcd cannot be enjoyed.

i think when you see it next to an OLED and SEE what is doing that cannot be achieved by OLED especially outside of gaming you will love the tv and its purpose with what it provides even more my guy
I’m sticking to OLEDs.
I'm in-between the 65" A95L or 75" B9 rn
The 65" is 1512 zones and if the 85" really does have 2808 zones. That is ~1300 more zones. Almost doubling the zone count. On top of that the panel might be different again like with X95L which could mean more native contrast and different look to the bloom. The brightness tested by a guy was reaching D65 2900 nits and 2850 in game mode. I don't think that was in vivid mode.
So if not then you can only imagine the nits being over 3000 in vivid.
Not an OLED but you get way more brightness and also ability to retain those colors at very high nits vs a G4 as an example.
Brightness wise maybe it’s a dumb question but how does the A95L compare to
I feel like going from OLED to miniled or led is a step backwards in terms of raw picture quality
That tv is very bright. Are the black levels as good as they look to me?
I love my C1 but man I've been thinking about those High end LCDs just to stop worrying about burn in and dead pixels and such and stop babysitting the TV.
His camera is making the tv look bright in black backgrounds. This TVs black are good barely any blooming.
This is a 65 and it’s out of the box. Local dimming on there will be no blooming in black bars especially on the 85inch
@NexGenTek facts. Out of the box.
You'll have to go with the A80L 83" as it's a direct replacement for the A90J 83". The A80L 83" is a carry over model like the X90L.
Good looks. I'm really impressed with the 75" and so happy Sony came back to help MiniLED. The new backlight makes a big difference
Dear Sony, please release the 65' of this, the first of the next generation of TV in the UK asap!
Sony are taking the p calling this a flagship TV They're only playing the numberss game..
RTS(Real time strategy) game setting is on. I would mess with that setting and try others in the menu to see what looks best while playing. I own 3 oleds and I am considering this also for the specular highlights but also considering the a95L.
I wish the "Steaming App Shortcut" buttons were replacable for you to mix and match, OR HECK, make them as small, low power displays lol
Side by side comparison with oled 🙏🏻
Very good video!
Hey tkk , s95c vs bravia 9 … be honest bro, which is better
Look absolutely stunning. No tv is perfect but a few get close
Vizio p series quantum is perfect 👌🏻
Best LED TV ever made, but not better than flagship OLED. That’s fine. Still looks good
How do you know that its not better than flagship oled?
@@DinoT-r2qit won’t have true blacks and will always have blooming. That’s just a fact of lcds.
🤔🫣@@cj_1986 it'll be just fine and win tv of the year over the crap color 500 nits sdr dim G4...
@@cj_1986 This TV has surpassed Oled flagship picture quality
I’m looking forward for s95c or Bravia 9 which one I should buy
Primary use case?
Maybe you should do a side by side comparison of Bravia 9 with A95L ✌
77” and 65” I would love to but can’t. But will do an up down. With B9 on the floor.
@@AllAboutTKK That will work 👍
Nice video nice tv keep up the good work
Damn it looks incredible. Looks better than any Oled
New shinny toy
@allabouttkk at 15.58 can you confirm that the top black bar turns grey as the scene changes? or is it the filming ie. a camera issue?
@@a1blues camera issues.
@@AllAboutTKK That's good to know as that might have been a deal breaker if it was the tv that was turning grey.👍
If you purchase directly from Sony, they throw in the BRAVIA CAM for free.
There’s no point comparing a qled to an oled
What do you mean there is no comparing? There is. The color vibrancy destroys damn near every OLED outside of the QD-OLED models. The bright highlights kill it too. The one draw back is blooming, but in this tv it’s masked very well. I’ve never been one for blowing smoke, keep in mind I buy all my TVs alone no funding even from YT, I’m as open minded as a customer to the sport could ever be.
@AllAboutTKK I'm not gonna like, the game was looking extra crispy while you were playing. You might need to get the 85in B9 when they come out.
I think you should run it in vivid mode and crank the settings...especially on PC with the extra FPS...all games besides online shooters like COD will look better and be more Immersive in
Vivid mode...you won't notice any input lag...but youll see a much better more Immersive picture...Itll get better also in 3-6months with some firmware updates for sure
You know what Mini LED is great for? Displaying Spotify in in the living room when you have friends over. Always chilling to have sth. to look at in the background.
Looks great bro..wish they had a 55 inch version..I wanted to upgrade from my 55 Sony X930E which still looks really good
Sony TVs are so-so
This or a95L?
What's up! We missed you bro, but I'm excited to be able to experience your journey with the Bravia 9! Quick question, how are the viewing angles?
At the end of the day it's an LCD TV with LEDs behind it, at about 2 inches pitch, Will never be QDOLED for picture quality...
How are the reflections and viewing angle? I was pretty settled on the 93L or Bravia 7 but the lack of both those features is making me re-think now...
How much did that taito sf6 arcade cost you?
An A95L in 77” brand new in the USA.
What happened to the 85 inch?
Watch the video again and listen brother. And it’s at the video expectation time stamp
Best setting by far is professional mode for picture. There's also a setting that turns the effectiveness of the zones way up at the expense of a small amount of brightness.
What are does glossy blue plastic things in the back right next to the TV's HDMI ports? Are they just for asthetics?
I have the 55 95L the remote no battery feature has me intrigued. Do you think its enough of an upgrade from 95L? My brother gets his Bravia 9 this week
NiTKK! nice video. Could you please measure how thick (height from bottom of leg to the top of the flat steel) the legs are. I want to sit my soundbar over the legs and need to know how much i need to build up the feet of the soundbar to get over the legs. Thanks
Good for movies in dark room, sitting directly in front and no more stutter.
Fails as daytime sports viewing with a room full of people.
The Sony 2024 QD OLED's might be a little better tho💯
The 2024 QD is the same from 2023, I have it. Will be comparing later today.
@@AllAboutTKKid love for you to compare to a95k at some point too. I am still very happy with mine but i wanna see how it compares
It's TV geared towards movie enthusiasts and what fo you do, GAME?! Hilarious! take this video down and review for the respective market!
Thanks for your comment helps the channel grow. Think I’m gone really listen to you, take this comment down.
Bro is coping
@@falsehope5529😂😂
@@falsehope5529 Nah, light bleeds into things in real life. Especially bright lights. It doesn't just cut off. I'd say that a mild amount of blooming actually makes an image more realistic. I'm not coping, I feel like it creates and effect of the image going a bit beyond the screen. OLED always looks somewhat unnatural to me actually (and some people around me have highly praised OLED TV's like the Sony A80K and the LG C3).
But you know it’s blooming when it’s not bright yet it blooms lol
Fun fact as someone who got LASIK surgery literally every source of light in a dark space has blooming
hey TKK,
so its 83 inch G4 for you? Or will you pass on the larger sizes this year?
b9 looks good and possibly the best mini led. its not oled and no mini led will be. its just different technology but that doesn't mean lcd cannot be enjoyed.
77” not a gamer. This tv, G4 or Sony A95L?
I’ll take it in the 75” the price point are too close to the 65” so mess well up the size
First😂
My guy!
Be grear to compare with the G4 bud for the ultimate
do you feel any motion handling difference between this and your oleds?
How are the reflections?
