LOL! Those SONY Mini LED TV's are extremely heavy, so now image having a 75 inch or 85inch! One of the reasons my wife and I went more OLED, just from a practicality standpoint and being able to move things around with just us doing it.
Seems to me that Sony has finally done it. A mini-LED to rival OLEDs. Certainly the closest any mini-LED has gotten, at least. Has that been your impression? I game more than I watch TV, so it’s nice to see a gaming-centric video for this TV.
I've had my B9 75" for a little over a month now, and let me tell you, it is an absolute treat to game on. The punch you get from HDR is otherworldly. I've been playing a lot of Helldivers 2 and Horizon Forbidden West on PC, and both of tremendous HDR highlights, especially in explosions. It's crazy!
Mini led is definitely the way forward much better then oled and safer in long period and the best is if your led light goes dark u can easily replace them by a technician instead of buying a new tv!
Great vid bro. Huge Sony fan myself. I personally have a Bravia A80j Oled and hopefully it should keep me going few years yet. I am hearing the mini led tvs are impressive. Shout out from the 🇬🇧👍🏾
I'm certainly leaning towards this for my new PC build. Working on transitioning out of OTR trucking after 10 years, and going into local work. Towing and wrecker field. So I no longer need to hold back with a laptop, or restrained build. The price doesn't seem to bed for the features in my mind. Plus since it'll be for a PC, I'm still squeamish about going OLED. The display is the one thing I tend to hang onto. I may upgrade my pc hardware every 3-5 years, depending on innovation. But my display probably only gets upgraded every 7-9 years. My next hold out after this would either be a breakthrough in MicroLED manufacturing or drastic improvements to OLED. I'm not a competitive gamer and I'm already in my early 30's. Pixel response times and ultra high refresh rates aren't my jam. I prefer high fidelity picture quality anymore, with just nice smooth frames at like 120-144hz. Next gen hardware like the RTX 5090 or even the current 4090 are already punching well into that territory depending on the game. Other than that I occasionally watch movies and series. But mainly watch YT and Anime. I'm not much of a "cinema" guy. My sound system on the other hand.. I like my Metal lol, gotta rattle the walls and the windows. 📢📢📢📢📢🤘
Thanks for showing the speaker set up in the back. Many reviewers just gloss over the configuration. For your full review I’d like to know how they perform. Is the sound good enough so you don’t necessarily need a soundbar if you’re not big into sound fidelity?
@matttafakt lol, no i use the 85” x95L is at home and it would cost money to rent a truck to take it to the studio and back home. Not worth the risk of damage
Yes!! The waiting was taxing. I await the full review with interest in the picture quality, and settings. Please address optimal picture settings for movies/streaming. Thanks Steve, usual great work. I wished Sony had given you the 85" like last year. Cheers
Steve, too late now, but I heard one of the beautiful things about the Bravia 9 packaging design is that you could just remove the bottom left and right Styrofoam holders when unboxing and leave the center part in place to hold the tv upright while you apply the feet so you don't have to lay it down flat. I love that. Just an FYI.
I unbox the Bravia X95L and I was expecting that but that was a 85 inch and this one didn’t have an option to do that. Trust me I tried when i was filming this 65”
$3k US? Buy it now..... then again, make sure the dealer is legit, something seems wrong with that price. I have a relative that works for Sony and he got me a Family discount price which was $3,800 in the USA. If anything it would be more in Germany. If legit buy. But I don't think it's legit.
Hi Steve , thanks for the review . It would be to big for what I am looking for , but it still looks like a fine tv . I am curious and maybe you could do a video on this . I truly can`t speak for modern TV's , however I would hope that all brands would be great and stay great for a few years . However on many items today it does seem that quality is lacking . Anyway , thanks again and geez -- that is a heavy TV , reminds me of my 201 Lb's Sony 32" XBR tube tv from back in the day !! Later , Dreamer
I've had my bravia 9 85" for 2 weeks now. It's a great tv. Yes, it's hevey. My 85 doesn't have speakers on the side like you said the 65 does. Thanks darrell
Though if you can afford an expensive top-end TV like that... you really should have at least a high-end soundbar music system or better. Samsung's are actually really affordable and cheap compared to the competition. You can get their Q990C models for like $1000 or less regularly and they sound just as good as any $2000+ system.
@NexGenTek that's weird my b9 85" had solid metal trim that ran around the sides and top. And there were no holes in that trim for sound to come out. It does look like it has some out firing ports on the bottom section. I assume That's for some sound

@@chibbyylol I was looking into the 85" Samsung QN900D with like 2800+ dimming zones but when I saw the 85" Sony Z9K that produced better brighter picture quality with just 768 zones I was really impressed, Sony's Algorithm combined with the XR Backlight Master Drive is no joke. I have the HT-A9 system and was curious about the TVs Acoustic Multi Audio and Multi Audio+. Looks like the B7 has side firing tweeters on the top corners (I can clearly see the open slots). Are they the same as the B9 frame speakers? I am guessing the other two woofers are down and angled 20° forward firing speakers at the bottom of the TV. My main goal is to use the TV S-center as the center chanel. Replacing my 75" X900F with the 85" B7 would be a huge upgrade no matter what! 😁
