Did you manage to resolve it because I have the exact same problem right now😢
can you get rid of windows insider via this?
Does Lenovo tie the Windows 11 key to the motherboard/etc? So if I do a fresh install it will be able to maintain that key without me digging it up? Any issues with it finding the default wi-fi drivers on first install? Debating if I want to clone an L15 SSD to a bigger one or start w/ a fresh install
Many newer computers do tie the key to the motherboard so they are usually recoverable the new install automatically. And no, there are usually no issues finding the correct drivers. The auto process is usually pretty good
@@PC_Monkey Ya part of me wants to just start absolutely fresh. Just trying to think of what I might miss in the backups. (windows key, any proprietary lenovo software, resetting up all the accounts, etc). Maybe there's a better way to do a Windows user account backup that I can restore from a USB drive or something instead. I suppose I could always try a fresh install, and if it doesn't work do a clone from the original SSD in NVME enclosure to the new drive.

I follow ur guide for similar laptop and operating system but i got stuck at the options to select hard drive to install the windows. It is not showing me any hard desk to install the window. Any idea
What brand computer do you have? Is the computer turning on and working well otherwise?
Hi jamin. I have HP Pavilion gaming laptop. I have an issue of blue screen error. When i run system diagnostic. Every thig is ok except memory. Memory diagnostic fail. Wht you suggest? Is it RAM issue?
Yes. Memory is RAM. If you have two sticks, test them both as seen here: ruclips.net/video/B2Umoh81QeI/видео.html to find out which one is bad and then replace it. You can see how to get compatible RAM here: ruclips.net/video/NtCzunl0AQA/видео.html
3:25 When you talk about "saving data" here, does "data" mean the files I have in Documents and Desktop? I want to re-install Windows but I don't want to lose any documents on my laptop. Do I need to "save data" in order to keep these documents from disappearing?
(Note: I am having the "Setup Notice: Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed" issue. I went through you other video about the BIOS fixes for that and none of them worked, so now I am re-installing Windows.)
Yes. To save those files, you need to select the Save DATA option. You have that issue on a Lenovo computer? Were you able to run the diagnostic scan as seen here? ruclips.net/video/oL1R1Tw0jSo/видео.html
@key Yes, no, maybe.
The best I can tell you is that I watched some video (maybe it was not yours after all) and used it to get into a Lenovo Setup Utility. (I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17IIL05, the setup utility didn't look like what you were looking at in your videos.) I checked the System Date and Time were correct (they were), tried changing the Boot Mode (UEFI, it was not changing), and maybe something else the video told me to try, I can't remember - but none of what the video told me to do fixed the problem. The video told me that if those things didn't work then the next thing to do was reload the operating system. And I didn't really know what that meant so I had to figure it out from other videos and somehow I found this video so here I am.
The video you just linked is not very helpful for me. It is not specific and assumes a level of flexibility in my (non)understanding of computers that I simply don't possess. It has lots "Your screen may look different" and "you may have other BIOs options" which.... I need clear instructions on exactly what I am seeing and what to do, and your video doesn't have much of that so the best I can tell you is that I think that, under the direction of a different video that I guess was not your, I did the things your video seems to be saying to do, _with one exception._ The exception is that I have not tried taking out and reseating the hard drive, because I do not have tools here and my apartment is very dusty and the one time I opened up a laptop several years ago the thing never worked again. So I am just not going to do that.
BTW the other video that talked me through the Lenovo Setup Utility solutions said that hard drive issues were the _last thing_ to look at, not the first. This laptop has been sat on a desk and not moved in two months so I am kind of assuming the hard drive didn't suddenly get unseated.
What should I do at this point? Should I just pay Lenovo to have someone come out here and try to fix it? If I try to re-install Windows and that isn't the problem, am I going to lose all my documents? The most important thing to me is not losing those documents - I don't really care about the laptop itself.
@@cisium1184 So you are unable to access and runt he Lenovo Diagnostic scan as seen on that video? And you are unable to access the HDD to reseat it? Then yes, your only other way of DIY troubleshooting is to reinstall the OS. If you cant do any of the DIY troubleshooting steps due to lack of computer knowlege or tools, then yes, you should pay someone to fix it.
@@PC_Monkey As far as I can tell, correct on both counts.
I actually purchased a Windows11 installation USB and that won't even allow me to install Windows 11 in upgrade grade mode, nor will any of the included repair/uninstall/settings/system restore options on the USB work at all. I think my computer or hard drive is just finished so I am going to take it somewhere and see if I can recover anything off the hard drive.
Thank you for your time.
Hey, Thanks for sharing the video. I am having an issue after selecting custom Install. I do not see my drives at all, however when i click load drivers and browse i can see them. Do you know what causing it? Need to install it for my wife after her computer does not want to reboot into windows. Ive tried many other options and none of them work so I thought i could install a fresh one. Any help would be great. Thanks
1. Was your Lenovo computer working well before this attempted install? If not, what was the issue?
2. Can you run the diagnostic scan as seen here to confirm the HDD is healthy? ruclips.net/video/oL1R1Tw0jSo/видео.html
@PC Monkey yes I ran diagnostic multiple times and everything seems good. The laptop could not start windows, according to my wife, so I tried multiple options including restore, removing recent updates but none of them work and was getting message that windows ran into a problem. After that I decided just to reinstall the windows, however after lunching the installation, it doesn't show me the internal hdd. Tried wind 10 and 11. Any suggestions ?

Is your Lenovo turning on and working well other than not being able to install Windows 11? If not, what is the issue?
I click on F12 but nothing shows up. When I try other keys like F2 or all the others I get into the BIOS.

I tried fn plus the f12 screen.
What’s the difference between windows 11 and windows 365 I just want a decent all round laptop do you think 365 will be sufficient
Sufficient for what? If your computer is well suited for your needs or not depends on what your needs are. Are you looking to use specific software or functions?

Hey Jamin, I tried to reinstall my windows 11 because my SSD was corrupted, It has a bitlocker encryption though and I don't have the key. How do I proceed with the install?
If your SSD is locked out, then you wont be able to install an OS to it. You would have to physically replace it or get past that key
Is it possible to install windows 11 on my lenovo ideapad 320 even it says doesnt meet requirement for the upgrade?
You may be able to force it through but your computer will most likely be slow, glitchy, etc.
I've watched your videos that pertain to my issue. Brand New Lenovo Idea Pad 3 with BSOD win 11. I've been through most of the diagnostics. Nothing works. Downloaded Win 11, trying to install, but I get to "Where do you want to install Windows?" is totally blank, no partions! At the bottom it says we couldn't find any drives. To get a storage driver, click load driver, which brings me to select driver to install ESD-USB (C:) or Boot (X:) Help! Where do I go from here? I don't want to assume, but boot (x:) has all the program fils & windows folders.
I would try 'reseating' the HDD. If that does not help, I would try replacing the HDD at that point.
@@PC_Monkey Thank you for your quick reply. This model has a 512GB SSD Lenovo Model #82H80358US w/full back panel. Is reseating the same procedure?
@@theresahall7089 Reseating is just unplugging the HDD or SSD and plugging it back in to make sure its secure and not loose. You can do that with any SSD and HDD that is not integrated into the motherboard
@@PC_Monkey Thanks Jamin, that's what I figured, but wanted to be sure. Just trying to troubleshoot this mess! Is the computer turning on and working well otherwise? What operating system are you upgrading to Win11 from?
Hello, PC Monkey.
I have a new Lenovo ideapad 5 pro laptop. I made the installer usb with MediaCreationTool_Win11_23H2.exe. The installation freezes when connecting to the network. You can only restart the machine.
There is a solution?
What OS do you have now and what OS are you installing? Is the computer turning on and working well other than not being able to install a new OS?
@@PC_Monkey Thank you, but there is no problem anymore, there is a solution. New machine, without operating system. The problem was that it didn't install the wifi driver, so it couldn't connect to the internet and the installation got stuck. Now I installed Win 11 offline, from USB. I installed Lenovo drivers and the machine works, now I'm writing about it.

If I install the OS, will all the files I had in my Lenovo get deleted ?
If you choose the 'Erase Everything' option during install and delete all the partitions then yes, all the DATA will be deleted. If you choose to save your DATA and do not delete the partitions, then your DATA should be saved. However, there is always a chance of losing DATA during an install so the best way not to lose the DATA would be backing it up before install or another alternative to a new install. Does Windows 11 work better than 10? On top of my computer completely dying on me, I also had nothing but issues with Windows 10. My HP would just randomly just shut down. We just took the back of the laptop off and there was moisture by the battery...no idea why. No liquid was spilled on it, but there was a bit of some sort of corrosion in the bottom cover. I took a toothbrush to the disgusting fan then used a vacuum to suck that out. Nothing has ever been spilled on it, what could the moisture be coming from? We live in the high desert so humidity isn't an issue. HELP!
If the moisture is coming from the battery, then that is a major issue. Definitely replace the battery ASAP and hope that the moisture didnt damage any other components. Does the computer just turn off randomly? No other issues with it at this point?
@@PC_Monkey... honestly, no idea where the moisture is coming from. Nothing has spilled on it. We're going to take it apart again tonight, take out the RAM and wipe it with 90% isopropyl alcohol. I'm so confused as to where the moisture is coming from. Our average humidity is 15%, so very dry, we don't have pets or kids and the laptop isn't near water or anything else.

All I can hear is the fan turning on. I can also hear some beeping periodically, but since I can't see the screen, I have no idea what else is working. We pulled out the RAM and this wasn't it. I honestly ended up taking it to my cell phone repair shop as he does laptops as well and he's fairly reasonable.
