    I like how you include "thoughts after a week" normally a car reviewer either experiences the car for the first time while recording the video, or they already had some time with the vehicle prior to recording their video. Idk, seeing your reaction of the car before and after a week of driving it gives the review a sense of like "oh, he's one of us, he's a normal everyday person who is genuinely committed to experience the car and tell us what he really thinks about it". Cheers to you, brother.

      Agreed! Honestly you should do like a 5-10 minute first impression summarized review of the driving experience and vehicle in general. Then do a 5-10 minute after a week with part. We like to see your genuine initial reactions, then give honest feedback to what it’s like to live with for people who may actually consider buying it. I think that format would do really well!

    THIS IS THE ONE!!!!! Finally! I, too, have been waiting for this car and specifically your review since it was announced. I absolutely need to get a test drive in this thing ASAP. Now, I just need to find some way to talk my wife into selling her eTron early and grabbing this instead. Or perhaps, this is the next car after the Taycan. I need to get this thing somehow - it really looks like everything I had possibly hoped for and more.
    But.... it's gotta be in blue. That's a requirement for any N car.

      IONIQ 5N is much better than Taycan
      As a high-performance EV, there is a big difference between the two in terms of price, performance and fun.
      A Chinese car RUclipsr tested the driving performance of five high-performance EVs on a track.
      612hp Lotus Electre S+, 408hp Porsche Taycan, 461hp Tesla model3 performance, 641hp IONIQ 5N, 673hp Shaomi SU7.
      Each car was driven around the track as many times as it could run to test its performance and limits.
      Lotus. lap1 2:01.81
      Taycan lap1 2:05.91 lap2 2:06:88
      TESLA lap1 2:06.85
      IONIQ 5N lap1 1:56.33 lap2 1:55.68 lap3 1:56.25 lap4 1:56.98 lap5 1:56.70
      SU7 failed to complete a single lap due to a ruptured brake on the track.
      The Taycan is limited to two laps due to poor brake performance and overheating of the battery.
      IONIQ 5N completed five and a half laps. The brake pads were almost worn out and the brake discs were very overheated.
      In fact, before the test
      The brake pads and tires of the IONIQ 5N were almost worn out due to the need to hastily borrow a vehicle that had been driven to the extreme in numerous test drives elsewhere.
      Despite this, IONIQ 5N overwhelms Taycan.
      Previously, the RUclipsr tested IONIQ 5N on the same track and drove more than 10 laps in a row.

I have a 24 Denali Ultimate with a sticker of 88,200. Same money down, apples to apples, $915 for truck. 1140 for Ionic………Once Hyundai adjusts the MF/Residual and these can be leased for 600-750 a month. It’ll be tempting as hell.

    Hello 👋, great content 👏 👌 👍
    This video reminded me of older videos you made in the past, VERY engaging to watch
    Question, will this work at tesla superchargers 🤔 or any tesla chargers 🤔 & will running the ac or heat tax the range like in a nissan leaf.. in that car, just turning on ac you loose 50 miles lol
    Keep up the great content 👏 👌 👍

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  6 месяцев назад

      Hyundai has announced support for Superchargers, but there's been no recent update on exactly when this year. It appears that there's still a few bugs Hyundai is working on with the compatibility. The Ioniq has a heat pump so range won't be affected as much in winter. Running A/C didn't have any effect on the range in my week with this.

    Matt, what a fun review! To be clear on the droning sound from the artificial exhaust, if you choose the exact engine sound you had it in and put it in 'Auto', it will drone at 65 mph? And if I hear you correctly, if you shift manually in that same chosen sound it will not drone as much in the highest 'Gear'? (I realize it can be quite in no sound mode). Fun car! 👍

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks! It only drones if you're not in the 8-speed mode. If you don't pull the paddles, the geared mode will operate like a normal automatic, and in that setting there's no drone as well, same as if you were using the paddles.

    While that seems exciting... we already have that normal stuff with all the normal ICE vehicles. I know the world governments are pushing this EV agenda for a false sense of saving the earth, but I don't see the point of trying to create an EV that does all this, when you can get a normal car for much cheaper. Manufacturers (porsche/ ford etc) are seeing that EV productions are not selling like they hoped and will be selling normal ICE vehicles for longer, which is good. There just isn't the infrastructure for all these EVs yet. They need to keep making and selling normal cars as long as possible, create some more hybrids if you want that, and keep the EVs for those few that want to "save the planet" (good luck with that). Another great video thought Matt, and I would like to drive this just to test it out, but again, I like my gas powered cars!

    Apparently, the upgraded/updated EV6 GT will get a couple of features from the 5N, including the E-Shifting and dynamic sound. This may be part of the reason why they are so heavily discounting the outgoing model. I think even motor performance will be the same. And probably even less range than the 5N now has, but for day to day driving for most people that's not an issue, I guess. I had a testdrive with the 5N and I had a blast. Over here (Belgium) we do get the HUD and pano roof. Pano roof is an option, HUD is standard.

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  6 месяцев назад +1

      I've been back and forth on whether to switch to 4k. I already did for the weekly updates and it didn't help the view counts at all. In past livestreams when I've brought it up, everyone says the videos look great even on a TV still, so that kind of swayed me away from investing in the equipment needed to make the reviews 4k. But it's something I'll need to do eventually, just not sure when.

However, when it comes to filming the cars I notice a big difference between your quality and competing channels. I only say this as an outsider looking in. I know you just sold your mustang due to this channel's performance, I am really so sorry you had to go to those lengths to keep things afloat.

      As a Taycan owner, I have to say, the Generation II Taycans are pretty awesome, but wildly expensive (and just forget about the Taycan Turbo GT - that is $250k+ STARTING price). Plus, Porsche's software even on the new generation is terrible, and it does matter if you are using it daily. I want to drive this thing, but I would actually consider swapping from Taycan to this just for the fun stuff like the shifts and torque/drift options.
