I was just at the Canadian beaver in Roxas city i stayed in the San Antonio resort was there for 4 days yes amazing area loved it there and yes i met Michael Smith there too
@@reginaldahern9418 And yet he still lives rent free in your head so much that you felt the need to put him down. Wow! Two retired expats in their 70s have similar views and act similarly? Unbelievable! Guess this broadcast wasn't too boring for you to check out. Fascinating. Well, either that or your life is so empty you waste time checking out things you consider boring. We'll get back to you when your lame opinion matters to anyone.
Hi Mike I did enjoy the video thanks for doing it. A few things Hospitals yes there are teaching hospitals in Roxas. Yes there are many rentals even on the beach. I have found Roxas city to be a great place to live. Thank you for all the great comments. Yes Mike you and Janet need to come visit Roxas next year.
Greetings Mike, The good happiest life is one inspired by love and guided by good health, knowledge, inspiration and kindness. To each their own and wherever one’s heart desires to settle down and retire. Great 🇵🇭 topic thank you for sharing 👌🏾👍🏾.
Good interview salamat kuya sir am planning a trip there the Canadian bar looks good to visit.they is currently a big condo complex been built in the city well visit .
I found Roxas City to be a very nice community-- spent about 3 weeks there in December of last year. It's a little slow (a lot) but still pleasant enough. Dumaguete is a nice place to visit but I don't thin I'd enjoy living there permanently.
Good one I like the content and comparison of the two cities is excellent.. I wonder if both cities have medical teaching institutions?? Likely I will want to hire a nurse
There are some nice places I've never heard of in the Philippines I am sure. Last Christmas, for instance, I was in Tubigon in Bohol. Friendly small town as well....
Maybe we could get a video tour of Roxas City/housing/costs?? I ask because all reviewers do the same cities and apartments/Hotels and I would like to see off the beaten path options. Thanks
We visited Roxas a few years ago. It's a quiet small town. Pretty much only a small SM mall. However there is plenty of development potential years from now. I wouldn't recommend it due to severe lacking of medical facilities and retail outlets. The Palengkes might be good though on the seafood selections. I prefer areas as Nuvali, with new exoressways, plenty of retailers, everything in close proximity.
A lot has changed in 5 Years there is a new SM Mall, Robinson Mall, 2 Gasiano Malls and 2 City Malls there are new private hospitals as well as public hospitals Population 180,000 its 120KM from iloilo city which has many more state of the art hospitals but is less expensive to live then Iloilo City
I've seen Tom on a couple of Michael's videos from the Canadian Beaver. I watched Michael put the place together on the beach. Roxas City was solidly in my "top 10 places I'd like to live in the Philippines" list. It looked to be clean, like Iloilo (also on the list), not too provincial, not too crowded. But the list is moot, since it looks like the last place I'll live in the Philippines is Telabastagan, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. 900 meters away from where we've been living for the past 5 months 😂🤣
In bacolod the Acacia hotel is rated number three out of about 180 hotels there. I get the deluxe queen room when i'm there in its under $35 they have swimming pools the whole thing breakfast you know. The only thing i didn't care for was the slow internet speed they have not good internet. Check it out on the internet
@Anotherwanyekerr oh i never even really check much else out when i first got here because it's so close to immigration and everything and had swimming pool for the relatives here. Thanks for the info
Guys, the city sizes are reversed: Roxas City is the bigger of the two. According to the 2020 census: Roxas City (a 3rd Class city) = 179,222 population; Dumaguete (a 2nd class city) = 134,103 population. Fun facts to echo on that first date with a hot Filipina, or karaoke night with her family: What are these "classes" of Philippine cities you have heard or read about? Answer: Republic Act No. 11964, or the "Automatic Income Classification of Local Government Units Act," was signed by President Bongbong Marcos on October 26, 2023. The law categorizes Philippine cities into five distinct classes; each based on a city's income range, which is determined by calculating the average annual regular income for three fiscal years preceding a general income reclassification. (Think: the more financially prosperous a city is, the higher class it may be designated.) City Classifications: 1st >₱1,300,000,000 2nd ₱1,000,000,000 to 1,300,000,000 3rd ₱800,000,000 to 1,000,000,000 4th ₱500,000,000 to 800,000,000 5th
I must disagree, nothing wrong with roxas just boring. Nothing to do, bars close at 10pm and most places. I was in Iloilo for 2 months and couldn’t wait to leave. Just boring with nothing to do.
I stay out in a province, you already know i stay away from Dumaguete, and i don't see anyone but locals except when i go to Tacloban, Leyte. I don't even see a foreigner every time i go to Borongan or Guian.
@mikesphilippineretirement 😁 not exactly, I had a hemorrhagic stroke. My point is, some like a very rural life. Part of my condition, is I stay away from groups of people, whether that be jobs, gatherings, parties, etc. I was that way at home. I used to be an extrovert, but now, I am more of an introvert. I truly don't hate anyone, but, I don't like social gatherings at all. I don't go to anything here either. Of course, they're speaking in their native tongue, and I don't understand anyway. My wife and her family are about the best English speakers here
Just a quick update for everyone. Today peso is p58.34. what the big news is can i haven't seen it on too much tv but it's verified. Social security recipients are going to get a massive 2.5% increase in their check in 2025! Amounts to an average of around $50 what a bunch of garbage. 25% increase in groceries 50% increase in gas home loans up it around 7%. Yeah the seniors are being dumped on.
I appreciate and like your blogs. You say your x military, but you are living in enemy territory. It's not the place to relax when you are identified as scam victim. 😊

Do they have good hospitals there if I get a stroke or similar?

Dreaming is better than living there.

How large is Roxas?
How crowded?
Housing availability? Amenities?
Google it as I have not been to Roxas City Yet
" BAGUIO CITY IS BECOMING MORE & MORE & VERY EXPENSIVE FOR BOTH FOREIGHN , LOCAL TOURIST , AND EXPAT "
very expensive
My choice is Nuvali. I have everything I need 5 minutes away, but it feels I'm in a rural area.
Thanks need to check it out some day
How's the hospitals their and other amenities that expats need
I do not know Gio? Iloilo is close
Mike What is Medellin like? Is it safe there?
I do not know
Love seafood php ❤
