While I totally agree with you, I have always been confused about the number of slaps Barney gets. I can't help but wonder if there was something personal from Lily in that decision. Or something the writers consciously choose to draw out the comedy. I think it would have been really cool if we had found out later. Lily abused her powers as the slap bet commissioner to get back at Barney for a personal vendetta. Which would have been totally in line with her personality and some of the things she does throughout the series. My reason for this is Marshall prematurely slapped Barney, and he also tried to hide the fact that his slap was premature from him, and his punishment was three consecutive slaps. One for lying and two for a premature slap. So one can't help but wonder why Barney was giving the choice of ten slaps all at once or five at random? Should it not have been two slaps for the one premature slap committed by Barney? Based on the precedent set by Lily in her ruling of Marshall's premature slap. I don't know. This is just something I have always wondered.

This episode is so funny its my third favorite episode of HIMYM over all.
How I Met Your Mother is my favorite sitcom, and while I'm not sure what my favorite episode is, this episode for all intents and purposes, *is* How I Met Your Mother, with the use of flashbacks, incomplete (at first) stories, and different perspectives all fitting together like a jigsaw to tell the story - it's very likely this was the episode they were using to explain that this is the kind of show they wanted to do. Great video, I really liked how you described things and how the episode works - very well done. Slight correction though, the characters were in the late 20s to... somewhere in their 30s for most of the show (Ted turned 28 in Season 1.) Also, Ted's a beta male? Awesome, I knew I was like Ted!
My favorite episode (I forget the name) is where Ted's date is someone he met online. The pacing and writing of that episode is incredible, with unique jokes firing off every minute and landing every time, culminating in the revelation that the method Ted met her "online" was actually World of Warcraft (and that Ted's character was the petite female elf was the cherry on top).
I love two amazing episodes - everyone's bad habits being talked about building to a crescendo in which they're all about to kill each other but Marshall remembers his password. And (spoiler alert) tiny clues around them counting down to when Marshall receives the saddest news of his life.

I love the girl who played Trudy Danica McKellar she was in the good old show The Wonder Years. That was a show from 1988-1993 good show. This episode is so funny its my third favorite episode of HIMYM over all.
Right Place, Right Time and Lucky Penny. I love the story in reverse and how the smallest random moments end up being the game changers.
Slight correction though, the characters were in the late 20s to... somewhere in their 30s for most of the show (Ted turned 28 in Season 1.)
Also, Ted's a beta male? Awesome, I knew I was like Ted!
4:18 Ted's sleeve is rolled up but there's nothing on his arm. Never realized that
My favorite episode (I forget the name) is where Ted's date is someone he met online.
Two in one week! Keep bringing it, Nerdstalgic!
The Burger always makes me craving for a burger
Not overlooked at all. Widely recognized as one of the best episodes in the series.
This is literally one of the highest rated episodes.. if not THE highest.
It comes off the back of the duel (a personal favourite of mine) which sets this episode up nicely for rewatching
0:05 sec in the video and I already agree, this episode was so good!
Damn it Trudy what about the pineapple?! One of my favourite Marshall moments :D
Damn it Trudy, what about the pineapple!!
"Overlooked" Literally is one of the most talked about episodes.....
This episode was perfect for one reason - it featured Winnie Cooper!
There! I did your whole video in 5 seconds!
Don't you mean "Mrs. Tom Cruise"
😃
👍
Perfect week is the best episode
Pineapple episode was my first episode I ever watched hooked ever since
Who is doing this video? Doesn't sound like the normal host of Nerdstalgic
Wait a second if the pineapple was on The Captains front porch doesn't that mean he is a swinger?
It's a new voice over artist who'll be voicing videos alongside Tyler.
@@MaverickMyth mans mouth is a little too wet.
This guy sounds so stilted. Tbh I mostly followed this channel for the flow of the original voice
@@ZenithKnight yeah I was hoping to fall asleep to this video because there's something about the original voiceover guy that is so relaxing. This one didn't do it for me
Yeahhhhhhhhhh I'm not interested in the new guy. I'm here for my main man Tyler. 😥
I'ts a legend wait for it dary
it ll be legend and you better not be lactose intolerant because the next word is dary
@@_bestcharacter_3654 Why does everyone include the d in legend when quoting this line?
I suppose it could be autocorrect
Pineapples are sometimes used as a secret sign for swingers, says a little bit about the captain and could add to the story of Ted and Zoey
BRO I WAS LITERALLY YESTERDAY LOOKING FOR "how i met your mother video - nerdstalgic" AND NOW U POST THIS VIDEO IM SO FUCKING MIND BLOWN
This is definitely top 10 episodes of HIMYM
Leaving pineapples in the front porch as a symbol of hospitality its such a humble and nice gesture (akin to the captain himself!!)
