I love that your garden is a "real" garden. Your enthusiasm is infectious and visiting your garden always makes me happy.
Gosh, thank you so much - that is very kind and I'm really happy to hear that! 😁😊
Hi Annette. I so love your garden and I appreciate that you’re so down to earth. Thank you for sharing it. You’ve inspired me. 😊
Thank you so much! That means the world to me 😁🌸
Hi Annette, thanks for sharing your garden. The plants are so lovely and your enthusiasm really comes through. I get tempted to make notes when I see all the nice plants but I wouldn't have the space even if I could get them. Thank for taking the time to show how things are growing. X
Thanks Jimmy, that is so wonderful to hear - you are too kind 😊
Hi Annette. Everything is coming along so beautifully. Can’t wait for the Rose tour as you have some great specimens which I would love to see in your lovely garden setting.
Thanks so much Olivia - oh, gosh, I'm so excited for this season! Every year, we achieve more and more in the garden and it makes me so happy to see the progress from the barren weedy wasteland that it was before 😁
Everything looking so beautiful! Annette, with regards to the sorbaria, you don’t need to get rid of it. You just need to take precautions to prevent it spreading. I had it in my previous garden and managed to keep it totally contained by planting it in a large bottomless pot (just a black nursery pot) and sinking it in the ground, leaving lip of about 5cm above the ground. It’s such a beautiful plant and it would be a shame to pull it out when it could simply be contained.
Thanks Elie. I'm definitely going to try your idea - thank you! I really do think it's such a pretty and interesting plant so I'm loathe to get rid of it. 😁
It's Friday again - time for CottoVerdi and Gardener's World - Best way to start a weekend.
Loved the garden tour 🌻🌻🌻
Thank you so much! Wow! 😊😊😊
Your garden looks beautiful Annette and I know how much hard work that you and Richard put in. My garden is small compared to yours and I know how many hours I put in now that I've retired. My garden has weeds too!
Thanks so much Wendy. It's lucky we love gardening! 😁
Your garden is stunning CottoVerdi. My Purple Sensation alliums are in bloom but not much else. Can't wait for my peonies and roses to bloom. I have another month to wait. Don't you just love how the columbine seed around. Thanks for showing your garden. Bonny zone 5b Canada
Thanks Bonny. Yes, the Columbine are such a joy - I never really want to pull them out until I see what magical new flower is growing! 🌱
I love your videos and your gardens. Cheers from Canada!
Thanks Michelle! You are so kind. 😊😁🌸
Your garden looks amazing! 😍 Your plant selection is so versatile, I love seeing all these - new to me- plants 🤗
Greetings, Judit
Was nice to see Max too 🤗😽
Thanks so much Judit 😊
Yes, Max is adorable too but often out catching mice so he doesn't;t hang around us as much these days. 😻
Gorgeous garden! Love the table full with flowing pots, so charming!
Thanks so much Linda 🪴🪴🪴😊
Lovely to see your garden. I also enjoy self sown surprises - having just moved house last summer it’s been fantastic to find some self sown nigella, verbena bonariensis, oregano, cosmos, and aquilegias have come along with some divided perennials I brought with me. FYI, I planted white and blue campanulas in my last garden and they spread everywhere - initially I was quite happy about it, but eventually it was quite a task controlling them…
Thanks Helen, and thanks for the warning about Campanula...I've just bought some more blue ones! 😬 Hopefully I can contain them a bit because I love them and they are so useful 😊
Centranthus ruber.....Jupiters Beard or Red Valerian...I love it....its so gorgeous!!!❤
Thank you 😊
Great garden tour and your garden look's very natural.
Thanks so much Nicholas 😊🌸
You have a lovely garden. Thanks for the tour.
Thanks Sally. 😊🌸
Stunning garden. My cottage garden here in Wales is also in full bloom now but you are abit further along down in the south of England as my thalictrum is nowhere near flowering yet
Thanks so much. I sometimes feel like we have little micro-climate in this garden because it's a walled garden and so it's very protected. 😊
You have some really lovely things in your garden! What variety is your viburnums? They look fantastic.
Thanks Rachel. These are Viburnum opulus Roseum. They are truly and incredible plant - highly recommend! 🌸
Beautiful gardens but yes the false spirea will take over everything, I bought my home 8 years ago and there was some here ,it's still here it even comes up though the gravel driveway, I have pulled it spray it and still today the fight is still going on ,terrible stuff
Thanks Kelly, yes, it is quite terrifying, although someone has said that I could plant it in a pot and bury the pot in the ground. Do you think this would work? I may try it...
@cottoverdi its up to u it may work ..but with me noooo
@@kellyferren2705 oh, ok. Thanks.
Beautiful garden and excellent colour combinations. Your purple anemone mistral is simply stunning. I recently ordered some corms of this exact anemone for next spring. I cannot wait to have it bloom in my balcony. When do you expect your papaver orientale to bloom? I look forward to seeing those, as well!!!
Wonderful! The oriental poppies are blooming now - the ones I've had in previous years are in full bloom and the new ones that I planted as bare roots this year have large buds about to open.
Centaurea....AKA Mountain Bluet
Thank you! I think it's the perennial cornflower but I get so confused with the names!! 😁
Thank you for your videos, I love them. QQ, I'm growing dahlia Rocco for the first time and I know you grow it too. Would it complement or clash with Cosmos Rubenza do you think?
Hi Kate, yes, Rocco is wonderful. I think it's not quite the same tones but I do like a good clash every now and then, especially in the latter part of summer. 😁
@@cottoverdi Thank you, Annette. Happy gardening! x
May I ask where did you get your Kintzley' Ghost honeysuckle? I wanted one last year (still do) but struggled to source it in the UK.
Ho Roxana, they are extremely hard to find. Try searching by their botanical name Lonicera reticulata 'Silver'.
I got mine from Larch Cottage Nurseries. Hope you can find one - they're gorgeous. 🌱😊
@@cottoverdi many thanks, that's very helpful
I have the plant which you think spreads like crazy mine hasn’t spread at all in three years.
Hi Catherine, thank you, that's so interesting. Do you live in a similar climate to me? I'm so worried I've planted something that is going to cause me problems for years to come but it looks so pretty that it was hard to resist...!
@@cottoverdi I love it I have in fact put in another one. I am in Scottish Borders we are zone 8a
@@catherinehenderson627 Ah, ok, thanks. Good to know.
