- Playing with the Bunker project,,, there is not much progress in this video. But we do discover a lot of stuff that can be improved upon! I still think that an under ground Data Center Bunker is a fun projekt.
I used the S2000 Power Station and their 200W Solar Panel. This is a nice set and in this video I show that it is able to run on the the box.

My PlayHouse is a channel where i will show, what i am working on. I have this house, it is 168 Square Meters / 1808.3ft² and it is full, of half-finished projects.
I love working with heating, insulation, Servers, computers, Datacenter, green power, alternative energy, solar, wind and more. It all costs, but I'm trying to get the most out of my money, and my time. Наука
You should drill and rivet them in..... Wood glue is not really meant for metal, I believe the clue is in the name sir.
It sticks fine to metal,, but the drying time on water based glue in the bunker,, was too much.
12:50 Nice rope. I guess I'm not the only one with a surplus of IEC power cables.
Thanx,, and it is well grounded as well :-)
👍ah, I admire you very much, you have great talents, you are doing very well, there is a lot to learn and learn
Thank you! Cheers!
The ground surrounding the bunker will easily sink a kilowatt of heat output, Morten.
I can only repeat what I said before as I, a someone who studied physics once, am pretty confident of knowing where the water comes from: It's not raining in or something. There is cold, moist air circulating through the even colder bunker and condensating there. As steam drops in volume to 1/800th when condesating, this generates extra suction and more air heavy with water ready to condense comes in.
The only option I see to get the bunker to any degree of dryness is putting serious loads of computer power in there to get the temperature up and thus get an electricity bill that goes all the way from your place to Copenhagen.
Quite honestly, I think there's no chance to get any real use out of the bunker as mini data center in the garden. The mini pcs you want to use there don't nearly generate enough heat to save the project.
I remember another project of yours which was using the water from your basement well to climatise your data centre in summer. The old tank may come in handy there: Place upright in that corner of your Playhouse, it could be a housing for the heat exchanger for an air intake of your data center. But even there, I doubt it would be ideal.
I did put in a 1,5KW bitcoin miner last year,, and it overheated in under 40 min.
I think if I can burn 100w in there all the time it will be nice and warm.
Use a extra large aquarium air pump ..its food safe / clean air ..regular air pumps can contaminate the air from the oiled bearings
I saw a barbeque air pump,, that I do think will do very well.
Morten,
Every safety person loves some "safety squints".
Hahaha.
Thanks for the video.
My mom is a live and well,, and being over protective of me,, is kind of her job :-)
the ants are antminers
Humm good joke,, why did I not think of that :-)
8:46 made my day :D
:-) Good :-) My mom is a live and well,, and being over protective of me,, is kind of her job :-)
I wish I luck with the wood glue, hot glue would most likely be a better option as it fills gaps and sets quickly and can be loosened with isopropyl alcohol
Wood glue was a total failure :-/ I will have to come up with something else.
Use an totair gun on each side of the plates to get them up to temp, maybe try some clear silicone or marine/automotive goop, I put that stuff on everything lol.. raise the lowest up a few inch's incase some water does enter
Hi @KavorkaDesigns
Thank You very much! glad you liked the video :-)
Thank you for watching! :-)
My church's underground room has your same basement issues, the water is rising from the elevator because there is a well (old hole with water down) very near the elevator so the water penetrates the elevator walls and flows into the room, so they installed a pump to dry that, and the other day the pump failed and we had to manually dry all the room with 2 mm of water down there... to get into the pump and discover that the power cable was broken
That sounds like an old church :-) but elevator that goes the other way,, new :-/ my local town church is from the 12th hundreds
@@MyPlayHouse it's from early 1950 but the well was there since 10th century, and we had the room built in 1970 and there was that problem back there
you could have just drilled and put in wooden batons as rails to rest them on, which would have been better in the long run :), nice video bud.
Hi @ProtekNickz
Thank You very much! glad you liked the video :-)
Thank you for watching! :-)
Welding FACT: Eyelids DO NOT protect from dangerious rays
Well radiation,,, works differently as the light, that my eyelids do protect from..
We all just worry about u that all,BUT feedback accepted we will tone it down,
Thank You! :-)
@@MyPlayHouse long time sub, love your content, keep it up
When you have the PC equipment, etc. running in the bunker that'll be giving off some heat.
Is it worth investigating insulating the surface of the walls (as currently they will be conducting most of the heat with the surrounding soil)?
Also, my father always says that the mask protects your eyes, even having your eyes closed won't stop the radiation from passing through your eyelids.
Good luck with the project 😊
Thank You,, Working a bit on it now :-)
3:33 Morten wants happy neighbors. Episode 1
It sounds like a lot,, it is not that bad..
you could try to run a mini-pc with a 48h burn-in test (furmark and prime95 at same time) to heat up your "bunker". Or you could calculate some bitcoins.
Might be fun!
Maybe you could drill holes and use rivets to fasten those dell mounts 😊
I think super glue :-)
@@MyPlayHouse Did it eventually dry and stay put?
Youdd need a 1500 watt heater for that space
I did a 1500w Bitcoin miner in there last year,, and it over heated in no time..
I would suggest using some silicone adhesive if have any troubles with your glue in the future.
Thanx,, the glue did not work,, I gave up on it..
Awesome video thanks! Maybe Silicon or caulk would do better than glue - but why not just nuts and bolts in the holes there? I would not expect you need much heat down there to prevent the mold - just air flow and circulation, something to eliminate the moisture and keep it dry - unless you're after heat for the human in the hole! Thanks again
Hi @davidanderson2436
Thank You very much! glad you liked the video :-)
Thank you for watching! :-)
One word "Screws" 🙂
Would only work on one side. no room for the PC to slite in.
Is there a temp Prop you could use (an IoT device)
I am sure there is..
Any heat those two devices create will be quickly transferred through the surface area of the tank walls and into the ground.
Yes,, makes for a great data center in that way..
Poor mini PCs. I get the feeling they week get wet. Why not start from the top of the rack?
Easier to mount them when they have something to sit on. :-)
What about welding some metal stripes on both sides and let the servers sit on top?
That would be stable, but also allows easy access to the servers.
And you could train your closed eyes welding skills.😂
Did you see my ugle welds,, i need no praktis closing my eyes...
Why not mount the pc from top and down? Is there a plan for the top part?
That want make it much easier :-)
@@MyPlayHouse I whas thinking about the water problem :)
Wonder if you could cool the datacenter in the summer by pulling air through the bunker.
That could be done :-)
Hey,
when do u plan to do some solar vids again? I haven't seen them for a long time.
Of course, beside the bunker projekt.
And....In Portugal solar, please.
Greetz
Nick
Well I am hoping to partly power the bunker from solar..
Hi Morten,
Can't you put your little diesel heater down in the bunker?
i think it's much more effective than the little 12V heater..
Thanks for the video!
I could,, that just becomes complicated,, exorcist and stuff :-) I am sure the little heater will work,, just need a lot longer than I was expecting.
Isn't a large metal tank in damp earth a giant heatsink? No wonder it's cold down there. Stick a load of bitminers down there and see the temp rise properly :D
You know I did that :-)
Problem is you add heat to it and it'll only add to the humidity, which will cause rust and wear and tear. Need to have a dehumidifier to do that properly and not kill hardware.
Put up a poster/embroidery thingy saying "Take risks, son / Mom" :)
My mom is a live and well,, and being over protective of me,, is kind of her job :-)
I honestly think you would've been better off using liquid nails - that stuff is absolutely impressive. problem though is that the temperature changes from day to night will cause some mechanical fracturing in the glue over time. the higher viscosity of the liquid nails means the glue stays in place and sticks to the intended surface.
I agree!! as I have given up on the wood glue.
@@MyPlayHouse also, the problem you'll have is as you add heat to it and it'll only add to the humidity, which will cause rust and wear and tear. Need to have a dehumidifier to do that properly and not kill hardware, with a one way exhaust.
Hey, have you seen my comment with the vent pipes under your last video? It was an idea how you could be able to vent the „Bunker“ without using to much power and use physics to pull some air from your datacenter.
I might have,, But the best sugestion I had was a USB barbecue grill fan,, I liked that..
pop rivets and to kill echo moving blankets for the walls
Whattttt are you talking abouttttt :-)
Use silicone instead of wood glue
Thank You,, I did.
Have you tried screwing those caddies for the pcs?
There is not space for screws on the side,, then I can not slite in the PC
@@MyPlayHouse sounds legit if you not have a 3d printer
Idk why people tell you how to live youre live. I find it more interesting that you have the same birds in your yard as me. But think thats normal. We dont even live 1000 km apart.
Lots of birds here :-)
Morten: we don't want to criticise you because of your welding. But you're a public person if you post videos on YT. So please take care of yourself and be a good role model for your viewers. We like your videos and it's nice that you're 48, but we want you to become 84 at least.

Hi @josem9315
Thank You very much! glad you liked the video :-)
Thank you for watching! :-)
I firmly believe that people should be allowed to live their lives how they see fit. However, I do find it foolhardy to criticize and mock the people who are concerned for your health. Here's an experiment for you to try, close you eyes and look at the sun. Do you still see the light? Yes, you do because your eyelids are very thin and cannot block the rays of the sun nor the UV emitted by an arc welder. Also the UV from that arc welder will burn your skin and could cause cancer. That is why a welders mask covers the whole face.
You are watching a video that I filmed approximately a week before you see it, that I had to spend 4 hours editing and uploading.. If you are watching it,, I AM FINE
If you cross the road with absolutely no traffic,, 10 meters away from the pedestrian crossing, and one person tells you that it would be a lot safer for you to use the pedestrian crossing. Well you are probably fine with it,, if there is 20 people on the other side that now comes over at tells you that it's safer for you to use the pedestrian crossing,, you get annoyed.
I could make a lot more interesting videos if I did not have to worry about the over protective safety police...
We learn to take care of yourself : ruclips.net/video/Jkiij9dJfcw/видео.htmlsi=QT4mhH5zquxe9sYe and what we can and can not do.
@@MyPlayHouse I may not have expressed myself clearly and that is my fault. My message was intended to be read in 3 parts and those parts were in priority sequence. Part 1: I fully support your right to do what ever you want. You are an adult who is capable of making your own decisions. As the kids say, "You do you, Boo." Part 2: I find it illogical to demean someone who is showing concern for your health and safety. Part 3: In this instance, those people may have had a point. But as I said in point 1, "You do you, Boo."
I may be a fool and have been a "victim" for a good old fashioned "trolling" from you, but you cannot be serious. WOOD glue for metal???
Rivets, screws, "chemical metal" or whatever maybe?
Anything is better than glue and tape in that environment.
Sorry, but this was just stupid..
(But maybe you were trolling for comments?)
The wood glue did not work,, but mostly just because it took so long to dry in the cold bunker.
If you don't like people calling you out for doing idiotic things, turn off the comments - or better yet, stop doing idiotic things.
But he wasn't doing idiotic things - people just assumed he was being an idiot, as very many people love to have something to complain about.
Welding without eye protection is idiotic, and to claim otherwise is also idiotic.
@@MichaelP-ns Actually yeah I made a mistake and assumed he knew what he was doing, but yeah after looking as you said, your eyelids are not in fact enough to prevent harm. I mean, it probably wasn't enough exposure to cause issues, but yeah not a good idea.
My mom is alive and well, and that is her job.
My guess is she's called you an idiot enough over all these years, it's time to give her a break and let us do it for her.
