I am a 55 year old female with Secondary Progressive MS, and you inspire me so very much! I’ve watched you and your family on your farm from the beginning, and I love that I learn something new with every episode. I’m not a farmer, I’m a city girl born and raised yet I am drawn in with the need for learning about what farming consists of and how it all works. Please know you teach, share, and entertain♥️ Thank You❣️

Cole - Take the time to create a "work instruction" for each of your pieces of equipment. This will provide you a written checklist of the service items you need to address, in the order you need to complete them so that piece of equipment field will be ready. Include a list of the tools with required sizes, and all consumables (including quantities) you will need to have on hand to complete the job. Include photos to help document complex service operations and mechanisms. Creating work instructions will relieve you of the mental stress of remembering, "how did we do it last year?" and eliminate worrying about forgotten/overlooked items this year.

@@denp54z No. Work instructions are not generic documents. The work instructions needed would contain detailed user specific information that is vital to direct workflow under the conditions and within the limitations of this particular farm operation. Properly written work instructions can even guide new-hires through the required maintenance/repair steps for a specific piece of equipment with little or no supervision.

My brother in law just took over a farm after his uncle. He have done this for literally everything on the farm ut trought the years. The most detailed instructions ever. All from how to take out the engine of a given tractor, the tools needed, parts and what to use to lift, to how to sharpen the axe on the stone. Some would say its too much, but it really helps when we want to do something. He had no kids or wife to tell how things were done there, and lived on the farm from birth to his passing this january at 94.

Re: The heating system - The exhaust must exit the pipe higher than where it when in. Even if it is under pressure ,i.e. a fan / blower. The reason being, if the blower fails, the exhaust will still exit the building. Yes, there are safety sensors that are supposed to prevent that, but if they fail, you'll have a bigger problem. You will find this in a building codes manual.

Exhaust from a furnace can be angled down a bit, especially if you want to protect from water ingress in rough weather. If your exhaust plume has a protective outlet hat on it will be water protected anyway, and a negative angle on the pipe is not needed. Good videos as always, Cole.

Two things to note. You might be able to go to a local machine shop and get those pins made a lot cheaper. Those bushings if they are nylon could be improved by making them out of Teflon. Teflon is a bearing material and nylon is abrasive and wears things out quicker. See if your suppiers carry that option or have them made. Many times manufactures put cheaper parts in to get to a price break making them more competative and increase profits.

All of our grandfathers kept nuts and bolts around for a reason, they are times when the parts store dont have inventory, especially a lot of things unfortunately are imported and sometimes that can lead to shortages. He did a 60 second push up to beat me. 28 seconds down, 4 second hold and 28 seconds up. I gave up on bulk and gained so much more raw strength. Maybe try it.
