Team Tim and John, here's a question. I've heard it said these scriptures that involve sacrifice and surrender, starting with the Cain & Abel conflict...all the way to the Levitic lineage, are all a way of justifying what was known as "the temple cult" during the second temple period, in conflict with some other mode of worship or belief. Can you guys go into that discussion at some point?

Am I correct in seeing the eastern movement away from Eden, Adam and his descendants and a western movement when a redemptive character appears, Abraham, star over Bethlehem. Thx

      ...and later the gospel
as Paul is getting further away from Jerusalem, he is moving in a destinctively western direction
      he goes north then west
and then track the movement of the gospel throughout history
its basically gone around the globe and is now back in the middle east

Hi my name is Paul I'm a person who is always struggled with understanding the scriptures. Until I read the two series of books of the old testament that Jesus for everyone serious. The old testament by John Goldengay. And the New testament by NT Wright which really got me into reading the scriptures. But I came across some writing within the scriptures about angels being chained. I thought that the fallen angels had free reign over the earth when they fell from heaven. Who are these angels that are changed. If you could tell me that it'd be pretty awesome thank you

There are different types of fallen angels. The ones that you are referring is mentioned by Peter in 2 Pet 2:4 and Jude 1:6. It most likely seems to be those angels described as ‘sons of God’ in Gen 6:1-4, who performed wickedness against the daughters of man during the days of Noah. These are most probably bound in chains in a place which Peter mentions in Greek as Tartarus, a section in Hades.
The other group of fallen angels are those who belong to the devil and are part of his rebellion. These are called rulers, authorities, powers of darkness, spiritual forces of evil, in Eph 6:12. These are not chained, but influence the wickedness, evil and righteousness on the earth and on man.
The devil is called the god of this world in 2 Cor 4:4; Lord Jesus called him the prince/ruler of this world 3 times; the devil himself said that all authority and kingdoms of this world has been given to him in Luke 4.
Lord Jesus defeated the devil on the cross, putting the rulers and authorities of heavenly places to open shame (Col 2). But still we don’t see everything in subjection to Lord Jesus as mentioned in Heb 2:8.
But the day is coming, when Lord Jesus will return and establish His actual kingdom on this earth for 1000 years, and the devil and his party will be cast away.

@glennsolomon7104 thank you very much I really do appreciate that I guess it's something that you're not going to really know for sure until you actually meet the Lord Jesus Christ and everything will be revealed to us. But I guess it's something to think about. Every time I read the Bible I just find that the Lord Jesus is so amazing and the father and the Holy Spirit. I'm so grateful to have their presence in my life

Fortunately we do not have to go to a mountain to worship God.
      Maranatha.
Also we do not need temples made of hands to get back to the garden.
