    I tried this today and it was a hit! everybody loves it. It's gone in few minutes.
    I didnt have the patience to boil the milk for hours so i tied to put it on the pan, cook in low heat until desired color and consistency was achived.

    Great recipe, I do however think there is too much butter in it, I used about 15 or 20 grams less because I didn't want the base to be covered in a greasy layer. I also used ginger biscuits for the bottom, that also is very tasty, I recommend using them for the base, it is a really nice flavour combination. Thank you for the lovely recipe.

    • @ThisWithThem
      @ThisWithThem  10 лет назад

      As we have added fresh cream to the top it is best eaten on the day or the day after. It should be fine up to 2-3 days maybe more but it really depends on how your cream is looking! I hope this helps! Kate :)

    • @ThisWithThem
      @ThisWithThem  10 лет назад

      You should try keep it in the fridge for at least half an hour before serving so it can set. However, it's more to set the cream as the caramel will never completely set as it will always be soft so just keep it in the fridge when not eating so the cream doesn't go all sloppy. Hope this helps Kate :D

    • @ThisWithThem
      @ThisWithThem  10 лет назад +1

      Another way to make caramel is with butter, soft light brown sugar and a tin of condensed milk and make it a bit like the caramel in my millionaires shortbread video but gently melt the butter and sugar in the pan and then once all the sugar has dissolved add your condensed milk and cook for 5-8 mins until it has thickened and has turned the colour of caramel! Hope this helps you! Kate

      Hey Hanis, the only problem with the banoffee pie is that it has fresh cream on so it is best eaten the same day or the next day for best taste but it may be fine up to 2-3 days or longer but it really depends on how your cream is looking! I hope that helps. Kate :)
