    I loved playing Guerrilla forces to where you're at a disadvantage. The challenge of stopping the powerful forces from completing their objective is awesome!
    Once I've had an idea in a gamemode (Insurgency?) where I wanted to blend in with the citizens to see how that would pan out, but the other team decided to shoot everyone on sight.
    I wasn't just upset that my idea was "shot" down, but was upset with how the other side dealt with citizens, really messed up. So my team decided to actually group up and fight them within concealment and moved from cover to cover until they just gave up.
    All in all, don't kill civilians for convenient reasons.

    • @Cataphracti
      @Cataphracti 8 лет назад

      Have a look at cannon fodder. They have a liberation 'capture the island' game-mode with civilians on it, and try and follow such rules of engagement when planning and executing assaults. When in an under-equipped state you're forced to rely on guerrilla tactics.

    • @pavelcerny9803
      @pavelcerny9803 6 лет назад

      @@Cataphracti Yes, I am playing on liberation server too, you just can't take a mortar and destroy a whole village, because the civilians will be pissed of and they'll put mines to your way (not randomly, they really go in front of you and put it there) or they will even fight against you as guerillas, so..

      No, one can be as good as Dslyecxi. Yet knowing your own weaknesses and Strengths. You can improve on your strengths and cover up your weaknesses.
      If your good at hiding and taking long shots. Then, improve on that. Regardless what Dslyecxi says. A well trained sneaky long shooter can be very very important to a Guerrilla Group. As Guerrillas do not play fair. Should they not play fair against a highly superior fighting force.

Now this video give me some ideas for finished off my story in nice and realistic way, thank you very much!
    My story will be a long one, with characters here and there, and main focus is on the revolution and secondary focus on NATO Russia involvement in the conflict. Most of the events will be take place in Altis and some of them on Stratis and Malden(in my story: Altis+Stratis+Malden =one nation). If my creativity active long enough, there's the likelihood of events will even reach to the Chernarus(as a Russia territory) but not 100% sure of it.

    What we really need is a Conventional Forces vs Guerrilla Forces server that is dynamic and intuitive. I want it to be that the Guerrillas start with few small arms and grenades/launchers and civilian vehicles. The Conventional force gets what you would expect them to. The server would be persistent and over real life courses of days, the tides of the server will change as the conventional forces try to uproot the parasitic weeds of the rebels and the freedom fighters mount ambushes and raids against the ruthless tyrants to capture bases and secure weaponry. In the server the Conventional force would be forced to abide by strict rules of engagements and target identification. They would have a strict chain of command and 'play it safe.' The rebels would be able to move their camps around, set traps and IEDs, and try to blend in with the civilian population. This would be absolutely awesome. Conventional officers could be assassinated and high value terrorists could be targeted to be killed or captured. I would love to see it get to the point where each team begins to hate the other and really fit into the roles they are playing while waging month long battles to secure the server. Perhaps every month the server can change themes from Afghanistan, Chechnya, Syria, Vietnam, to modern-futuristic fictional themes.

    Something else worth noting: to know where to setup ambushes, guerrillas must find out which routes their enemy travels on by noticing where their enemy patrols, and having reconnaissance dudes position themselves along areas outside of & above enemy bases where they can see the roads branching out of said bases, noting which routes the enemies use & marking them on the map.
    Then they can figure out which areas along routes they take to setup ambushes: where they can be hidden from the angle their enemy is approaching from & the angle their enemy will be in, and where there is terrain that would prevent the enemy from chasing them (i.e, if the road the enemy is driving on is a cliff: their tanks cannot chase them if driving off the road means driving off a cliff).
    An ambush does not have to totally annihilate the enemy if it is set in a way that there is terrain between the guerrillas and enemy that prevents the enemy from chasing them or shooting them if they run (Say you ambush from the top of a slope then run into the woods. Can the enemy hit behind a hill)?

    Bohemia should start a massive server, like an MMO server where the world is persistent and there are 3 faction and where people come together and they create all out warfare to take over Stratis. Imagine 300 to 500 people on one server coordinating and combating against each other. would be epic for guys like me that has to play single player because I've no one else to play with. But still ArmA 3 is one of the best games I've ever played!

      Oh you're good man, mistakes happens.
      Though yeah it's sad to see that even Bohemia hasn't even coded in the ability to blend into civilian population.
      Though my comment is somewhat opaquely written.
      I can walk around looking like a civilian with no gun, though the only problem with that is. If I have fired at one of them before. No matter if they saw you or not. They will shoot at you.

      would be fun, but wrong way around ;) Guerrillas are generally the badly trained ones.
      Though I think that would be interresting too. Seeing how well the "newbies" would fair against the "pros" when using guerrilla tactics. I'd give them a decent chance to cause some mayhem

    • @SlyTy98
      @SlyTy98 11 лет назад +1

      Braindead Pros are actually the Guerrillas. Although it's all relative since people vary so much. It probably takes more skill to conduct a ambush or raid than to drive 7 tanks into an area and blow everything up.

    Where are there PvP games like this? It's an excellent video, but where could I jump into such a scenario? the best I've found is the tier1 mission generator, resistance, and patrol ops. (all PvE) but the way you describe things in this video makes Arma sound a like a well trained and organized community...but it's not! On top of that, everyone is geared to the teeth with VAS options. and/or there are 10-15 mods you need to get into a passworded server that most likely crashes because of all the scripts running. Any tips on where to play simple, clean and well organized PvP without having to spend days and weeks in a Clan TS3 waiting for a poorly scripted mission?

      Ciaran Daddo-Langlois yes. there is nothing else. NOTHING. hence my point. I'm already in BF4 tac clan, and ESO RP guild.I only have so much time in a day. I love Arma, but Arma clans are more busy mission building and training at kill houses then actually playing the game. I guess i will just watch from afar on youtube.I love Dslycxi's vids. I hope he never quits.

    This I would say is the problem with all arma maps, they're completely devoid of civilian populace. Given that bohemiah decided not to include a disguise system where changing uniform would change ai IFF, we must use ai civilians and create consequences for killing them. Then of course the problem is simulating civilian activity. Civilians would have to do more than just walk about villages like grazing livestock. They need to get in vehicles and drive around, stop at checkpoints, run or hide from firefights. We might even need to have an acting module for the guerilla players which allow them to be taken over by ai so that players don't pick out their movements as appearing too human.
