Those hands… you can tell an artist by the way he holds his brush. Legend.
Thanks for being here.
Flip is such the Goat. Absolutely a legend and idol
Most definitely. Thanks for watching.
As always great techniques and tips. Loved that even when Flip did not stop the shooting line he still had a really nice cast.
Thanks for watching.
When Flip talks about casting, I listen!
As we all should. Thanks for watching.
Good stuff guys. I had never thought about it but it makes sense. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
Thanks for watching.
Greetings from London UK Brian. I’ve been coarse and carp fishing for 30 years and recently took up the fly. Soooo hard to learn something completely different. Early results were disastrous, but watching this series has helped me understand so much. Leaders, tying, tippet, casting, butter 😂 etc and your videos have changed my life and now fly fishing is everything I’d hoped it would be. Thanks so much to you and Flip for helping me out. This is such a great channel and if I ever get to Ohio, I’m gonna pop by and give you a big hug to say thanks. Love you guys. Keep em coming! 👍
Thanks for watching. He likes hugs so come on over!
Love the knowledge you two are passing on. Thank you from an avid fly fisherman.
Thanks for being here.
never even though of this. keen to give it a go today.
Thanks for being here.
Thank you Brian and everyone at MRO for all your advice and lessons, you have helped me so much getting started!! 🇺🇸
Thanks for being here!
Extreme accuracy is capable doing this. Thanks Flip, Brian & MRO crew! 👍👍👌🎣
That is exactly correct. Thanks for watching.
Man I love Flip! Brian, I enjoy your instruction as well.
Thanks for being here.
Great stuff. Well done Brian!
Thanks for watching.
After all these years I had never heard you have to stop the cast. Well after watching this video I went out to the back yard and tried Flip and your advice. Could not believe my first cast with a single haul when I stopped the cast it laid on the grass straight as an arrow(there was also a wind blowing). Tried it again with double and single hauls and they all laid out straight. Threw a few without stopping the cast and they all looked like snakes. Thanks guys for this bit of advice it works great. If you have not tried it, do so and you will see the results.
Thanks for watching and happy to help.
Fantastic video! Checking the shoot, or performing a check haul is one of the most undervalued techniques in fly casting. Very important to ensure turnover
Thanks so much for being here.
This is very important, but it’s not simple to execute on the water. It’s still all about timing and also needs to be coordinated with dropping the rod after the front stop. Watch how they coordinate those two-the rod drop and hand stop. Very intricate timing that requires a lot of practice to get right. Even then it’s a function of wind, loop shape, how much energy is in the front loop, etc. If you stop it too soon, for example, the fly will bounce back, leaving a lot of slack in the leader. Fly casting is tough to get right but I can say this element is not covered by anyone else, so a thousand bravos to Flip for teaching this concept! 🎉
Thanks for watching.
Great video tip. Always good to learn better techniques from a master.
Thanks for watching.
I've been watching Flip for years on Walker's Cay Chronicle's. He is definitely the GOAT. Thanks Flip for making me a better fly fisherman.
Thanks for watching. It’s an honor to work with him for sure.
The simplicity of it-sheer brilliance.
Critical component to accurate fly delivery/placement. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much. getting back into fly fishing after the kids have flown the coup. Used to cast a full line easily and embarrassed myself last week when my casting had apparently aged worse than when I look into the mirror after 30 years, thanks guys brilliant.
Thanks for watching.
He makes it look so effortless!
That he does! Thanks for watching.
wow - this didnt even cross my mind.. thanks!
Thanks for watching. It seems it's news to many!
Yep...never been taught that...awesome!
Appreciate you watching.
oh i needed to hear this! 👍
A very important lesson!
Great video, thinking of getting into fly fishing at 69, enjoy watching your how too video’s
Thanks for being here.
Never really thought about that. Good information. I have always done it by accident I guess. I never just aim in a direction, I pick a spot, make sure it has enough power and line to get there and stop it when I think it will make the target.
Thanks for watching.
Never knew that. Will do it next trip!
Thanks for watching. Pretty important part of the cast!
I always wondered why my line wasn't going straight every time, thanks for the Genius!
Thanks for watching and happy to help!
thanks for the video. i was asking my fly shop why my line was looking all wiggly and he was talking about the loop in the back cast. Will try the stop the line during my next outing.
Thanks for watching.
Holy shit!! Never thought about it.
Most haven't. Thanks for watching.
Brian! Do us a favor and can you do a video with Flip that explains some more advanced techniques? Like, how to cast when the wind is coming from right to left? That would be really helpful for those who aren't newish. THANK YOU!
Will pass along to Brian. Thanks for watching.
cheers its the little things .regards Lew (nz)
They add up! Thanks for being here.
Have to try this but it very well may resolve my man casting issues. Never heard anyone speak about this.
A critical element to accurate casting that very few understand. Thanks for watching.
Was literally just recently wondering this and got to wayyyy overthinking it 😂
Thanks for watching.
😅 I love Flip 😁🤙
Thanks for being here.
Flip casting = Poetry in motion! #likebutter
No question. Thanks for watching.
Which lines are they using here? I like the bright orange with white running line. All I've found is all orange where I live.
Flip uses the Flip Pallot line:

@@Madriveroutfitters Thanks for the response!
Flip usually double hauls, just an observation. Great caster.
Actually always double hauls. Thanks for watching.
This has been my problem as many times
Thanks for watching and happy to help.
Doing shit right , could not have been said better. :-)
He's the master. Be sure to check out his website of the same name.
Just like 🧈
Exactly! Thanks for watching.
Great vid from two legends! Thank you. One piece of constructive criticism would be that we never got to see the flies, leader, and fly line turn over in your correct example. Over all its a great piece of advice, just think the video could have benefitted from seeing the correct presentation from the casters point of view. Keep up the good work guys and gals!
Thanks for watching!
Left ear special episode
Thanks for watching.
I’ll be damned!
Thanks for watching.
just show flip casting - no talking required
Stay tuned.....filming next week!
