For every musician who has performed with Emily over the years, it must have been both pleasure and privilege to breathe in talent so versatile and seemingly effortless as hers is.
Great interview and her performance is breathtaking, she really is pure magic and a seems a girl with her feet firmly on the ground even if her music is in heaven.
les cox he is one of Germany‘s - although regional - most well known host...I wished Emily would have gotten these interviews in the USA...he was prepared, he took her serious depite the „fun“.
Greetings Emile from way down yonder in New Orleans. You have a great gift of playing and writing your music. I read in the good Book, "To whomever much is given, of him will much be required" From all the videos I have seen from the first one where you were about 2 or so and your Grand Mother heard whom She thought was your older Sister or Brother was floored to see that it was you to this video published on July 26,2015 was awesome. Through out your time here on Earth you have played for all kinds of people and in all kinds of places that I hope you keep doing that with your God given talent. Best of luck and God bless
Emily Bear an angel fallen down from music-heaven is here to stay forever to spoil us with music of the highest level..!! I am totaly flabbergasted and a big fan!!....Jim.
Once she starts playing Flight of the Bumblebee look at her face. It makes her happy. She loves it. That is the key in her success in my humble opinion.
It fascinates me that at such a young age, she has her own trio, that adult professional musicians place total confidence in her abilities. She is amazing. The Emily Bear Trio. Good stuff.
Emily Bear is not only a Jazz pianist and composer, but also in Classic and a ;pts of other music styles. Emily Bear compose not only for albums or concerts, she compose also for television, Movies, Commercials and special Projects. There is a playlist made by a part of Emily's compositions for that. It shows Movies, Live performens (also orchestral) of Movie- and storyline Music by Emily. This playlist is totelt - Movie Soundtracks composed by Emily Bear
With Emily playing as she does and Joey Alexander as he does the future is bright for the jazz piano. I'd love to see what would happen if they performed together, oh well, we can only dream!
...she has been on this earth before. Perhaps 400yrs ago lol!! But this is genuinely, unequivocally, without question a once in a couple, not just single, generation ability...
This is a variation on wonderful medley of tunes from Emily's first CD that was also played for Quincy Jones at the 47th Montreux Jazz Festival and then her spectacular variation of Flight of the Bumble Bee.
Bumble Boogie! I love the bumble boogie............................................. I played the right hand...................................... it did not sound like it. But you rocked bumble boogie.
Notice, she doesn't need sheet music! She can memorize a piece almost instantly just by hearing it or reading it. Mozart could also do this. She looks at the keys just for show. She could play blindfolded. Mozart frequently played blindfolded.
brgilbert2 From what I understand. The drummer in this video is from the SWR Bigband. Emily's regular drummer Mark McLean (the drummer in the other Stuttgart videos) had a gig back in the States on or around the date of this concert so he left early.
Ms Bear shows great promise and will continue to broaden and enhance her playing with time. However, it's prudent to be cautious right now, and certainly it's a little early to be calling her a 'genius'. The starry-eyed young interviewer has obviously not yet listened to a jazz piano genius. I suggest he starts with Art Tatum, Teddy Wilson, Bud Powell, Hank Jones, Tommy Flanagan, Bill Evans and a few others before his mouth next runs away with him. Meanwhile every good wish to Emily and her continuing development. I think she is certainly going to be worth watching .

Wow! What a true genius, and so modest with it. Emily never ceases to amaze.
+63rdwho really talented people don't need to brag about their ability, doing it just proves it

Doesn't get any better or more impressive than this.
It fascinates me that at such a young age, she has her own trio, that adult professional musicians place total confidence in her abilities. She is amazing. The Emily Bear Trio. Good stuff.
Toll! Was man so leisten kann mit nicht mal 14 Jahren, es ist einfach erstaunlich; schön.
Without a doubt the best camera work of Emily and her trio playing. Quite a treat for us EB fans. She is featured in this video from 1:44 to 12:44.

In this particular video, I see the person playing the drums is not the person who is on the other Stuttgart videos. Is there any information on this?
brgilbert2 From what I understand. The drummer in this video is from the SWR Bigband. Emily's regular drummer Mark McLean (the drummer in the other Stuttgart videos) had a gig back in the States on or around the date of this concert so he left early.

She is not a jazz pianist, all tunes have been arranged. Nothing special.
