According to a German documentary on Emily, she has perfect recall of everything she plays. She can improvise on the spot and remember everything she plays. She cannot write it down fast enough so her mother records it to be transcribed later. Amazing to have that music within you just waiting to be let out.
Inspiring ... and I think this must officially be the 1st ever comment thread on RUclips where there hasn't been some idiotic negative comments. Bravo young lady ... you will inspire others young and old. Wonderful passion and be sure not to burn yourself out ... do as much as you want to do, and no more.
Love watching Emily play and yes her smile is always there!! I made a dress about that same color in shiny hot pink for my high school graduation! Had velvet ribbon - high waisted dress back in 1971. Wish I can be 1/4 as good as Emily. I do love music and teach piano, guitar, ukulele and sing. Blessings and thank you for sharing your life!!
Praise God for your awesome gift that you share with us! Thank you so much from a person who recently discovered your talent. May God be glorified in your vocation now and always.
Oh my gosh, I just came back from Disneyland Paris and cried at that last one because that music is exactly how it feels to be there! I miss it sooo much :') Thank you Emily for bringing that feeling back to me :)
Emily you are now 18 years old and taking the world by storm. I have all of your cds and looking forward for the next which will feature your singing. Emily you are PHENOMENAL!!!🌹🌹🌹
OK! Here's a treat for everyone. RUclips: Rhapsody in Blue - Emily Bear, age 13. She's just a couple of years older, now in a beautiful gown, a full orchestra with conductor, and again no sheet music in front of her, this time for nearly 20 minutes of playing, and the sound and video recording is excellent! Absolutely beautiful job with George Gershwin's 1922 composition.
Emily, you should expand the Tornado theme (brilliant) into a "Weather Suite". In the USA you have all the inspiration you need, the Maine Forests, the Western Deserts, the Volcanic Mountains to the West and so on. Take your skills to Disney, Warner, MGM. I am sure that "Q" will guide you. You are getting older and already are more than able to write for films. That must be your PRIORITY.
You gotta remember that Quincy Jones got Leslie Gore her start. Leslie was one of the most wishful teenage emotion singers the U.S. has ever produced. Emily is next on the list with the talent this little can of action is. Go Emily! We love you.
It is sort of ironic that if Emily would have been Asian, there would be countless of comments stating how she was exploited by her parents and forced to do this. Some people never realize that it doesn't matter how much you push somebody to do anything, without talent it all amounts to nothing. Emily is great and will definitely make a name for herself in the pages of music history.
+Thegirlwholovesbacon - Don't believe she did yet, (?). And I agree it is beautiful. All four of the improvs from this video clip show Emily's genial musical mind at work. We do know that she took the mother and son improv theme and developed that theme into a full scale 6 minute orchestral piece she entitled "Les Voyages". Others have noted such.
6:39 and 6:47 I can hear thw words: I can't wait my blindfolf of is, I can't wait my blindfolf of is, I can't wait my blindfolf of is. Look what i see, what i see, what i see, what i see, what i see.
"It's a small world after all,... It's a small world after all,.. It's a small world after all,... it's a small, small world." That little ditty infected my brain 25 years ago and I beg that Disney will replace it with Emily's little improve. While riding in the boat at that Florida ride I had all kinds of nasty thoughts enter my mind as "It's a small world" assaulted my senses.
Every time I hear the piece of improv she composes on the spot for her mother, starting around 4:50, my eyes get wet. I cannot figure it out, but I think it means Emily is a musical genius the like of which we have not seen before.
I guess that Mozart had awful parents. Playing for kings at age 5. How awful. Actually, from what I've seen, Emily pretty much picked it up on her own. From the time she was 2 she could read music and play it on her own. She and Mozart have very similar "brains". Can hear or read a piece of music and memorize it instantly.
The main thing I see here, other than she is an awesome pianist, is that she is extremely happy, and smiling. She truly loves what she does.
The disney thing. I was waiting like - nahhhh, she wouldnt knowwwww. And she frikkin pulled out Lydian mode!!! Child is the real deal.

[Some One] Type in "Emily Bear at Carnegie Hall and look for the German production. That should get you there.
My tears are falling. What a wonderful world.
it must be the onions.
Who gives this video thumbs down? Emily Bear is amazing!! One of the best young musicians and composers today...
You are incredible Emily... Prodigy for sure. This young lady has more talent in her baby finger than most pianist.. way to go Emily

My heart swells with admiration, God really puts his blessing on Emily Bear's talented gift.

She plays the piano like she could eat dinner, read a book or talk to a friend at the same time. How cool is that?
yes Emily the man is
Wow! All of a sudden I had a flashback to Louis DePalma and Elaine Nardo. Why was that? lol
You are a dream to listen to
You gotta remember that Quincy Jones got Leslie Gore her start. Leslie was one of the most wishful teenage emotion singers the U.S. has ever produced. Emily is next on the list with the talent this little can of action is. Go Emily! We love you.
One word: Mozart!

Did she make the Disneyland improv into a full song? It's so beautiful.

She makes me think of the great Neil Sedaka.
Little girls can rule too! Woot!

Well, not for a few centuries at least.
I like Neil Sedaka, but comparing her to him is like comparing a normal person to a pigeon.
I am just like her but I start at 5 and been advance like a normal person
I think she. Could do this in her sleep. She seems kinda bored with this piece.
One thing makes someone this good this young.
Awful parents.
Oh Todd. you must have had wonderful parents because you are awful.
haha..

[Some One] Trying to reason with an idiot is like pissing into the wind.
This is so staged. Boo
Bullitt1968 she's the real deal captain obvious!
