  • Hi guys I've recently replaced a Cam Follower on my car and I thought of also sharing how I did it as there's close to no videos that shows how this is done on a A 2.0 FSI (Non-turbo) engines. This is a vital engine component which needs regular replacements, if you didn't know how you could do it then I hope this video will be helpful.

In my experience, these camfollowers dont wear like they do on the 2.0tfsi. The end of the intake cam is different then the TFSI. The FSI has 2 lobes and is more shaped like and oval putting alot less stress on the follower then the triagular shape on the TFSIs. Anyways, very nice video, keep up the good work!

Yep you are right about that, I've changed the 2.0 TFSI cams which are usually found on the GTIs and they have a triangular lobe with 3 pointy edges. That definitely causes them to wear very quickly. I was even thinking of changing this intake camshaft to the GTI one but due to the quick wear and difficulty of accessing the cam follower I might put a hold on the thought... Thanks for the support man, I appreciate it.

@@MegatronicsZA i think the difference in lobes has something to do with the higher fuel supply needed on the turbo cars. Very curious if it would work though 😊

@@J4rn0 because the turbos need more fuel pressure injected continuously? Therefore the need for three lobes which means more power with more fuel... We'll I don't know why but I think there's a chance it might work.

@@MegatronicsZA ye 3 lobes vs 2 lobes creates more pressure per cam revolution in theory. But they also tune these cars with stupid high hp without changing the hpfp i think. So good chance it will work.

I don't know, just give out the engine number and they will give you the correct one

Hello. My problem with FSI 2.0 Passat B6 cold-warm knock/clicks. Why? Same problem? Please check it out my videos. New: timing belt set, waterpump, (chain/tensioner ca. 40.000km), hydraulic valves. No engine fault code. 😢

You most probably have the same fault, you also need to change the timing chain
