Due to the new 2024 thickness constraints ASUS had to remove the vapor chamber and insert a 3rd fan (which is where the 2023's RAM slot was). It's also been widely reported that the 2024 fan noise is much worse.
No. There isn't any space for it. I don't believe they ever offered 2 slots. I have a 2021 g14 and it doesn't have that option nor the space for a second drive.

Check out the new Eluktronics Max 15. It's essentially like the Lenovo Legion but at 15.3" (still 16:10) instead of 16". Eluktronics isn't selling it yet but XMG, essentially the European version of Eluktronics, sells that laptop with the AMD HS CPUs instead of Intel. Still has a 99Whr battery. Only downside for me is it tops at a 4070
My Zephyrus M16 is a 16" but its still portable enough cuz the body of the laptop is a 15". It uses a 16:10 ratio which makes them achieve a bigger screen but retain a small body instead of judt making the laptop bigger.

The 2024 4060 Model only comes with 16GB of RAM. If you want 32GB, you need to upgrade to the 4070 version for $400 more. Also, I don’t see the two m.2 slots on the 2023.

There's a rtx 4070, 120hz, 1tb, 16bg ram 2024 at best buy for $1,599 on sale for like $1350 right now. I had a 2021 g14 with only a FHD display. Finally broke it. So I think 2024 for almost the same price and nicer features is totally worth it. Knowing it will last at least a few more years

Due to the industry seeing a down trend in sales they could go on sale earlier than the fall. Keep an eye on your favorite retailer (or my favorite Best Buy) for sales.
for the battery test for the 2024 is that at 3k 120hz or on like the most power saving settings because my 2024 that I just got says the estimated battery life is only like 4 hours out of the box which seems so low to me
you need to install ghelper and get rid of asus armorcrate, then change the gpu to eco mode in the program and put the rest on eco mode, I get about 10 hours with these settings
4090 is useless in a portable device due to wattage and thermals. 4070 is the highest you should go in a laptop-especially an ultra-thin laptop. Anything higher (i.e. 4080 & 4090) offers no improvements and you may as well toss the extra money you'd pay into the trash.
I wonder what it means to have a 500-1000 point GAP in those [Puget] Benchmarks. Maybe it only translates to 1sec faster/slower and we give it too much importance....? 🤔🤔
I js got the g16 2023 with 4070 and 32 gigs of ramm. I love it I had the legion its a little bigger and heavier the track pad on the g16 is way better but the Lenovo screen is better, higher resolution and brighter(g16 was more powerful)
on sale the 2023 model is $500 cheaper with the same configurations. the only difference is that your not getting OLED. A 40-50% price premium i dont think is enough to justify OLED. Im happy with my 2023 model. i was also able to upgrade to 32 gb of ram which is nice.

Goddamn, just switched to this review to try and compare the Lenovo P1's performance in Photoshop + After Effects to the G14 2024 [I know, just for kicks] - and the numbers are totally on a different scale. The P1 test was about 1000-1100. Here it's 6000. Can't compare as it's not apples to apples. Actually just tried to see how a 16" + 4080 laptop like the P1 compares to a 14" 4070 in After Effects mostly.... I don't see After Effects test score here
I'm mostly worried about knowing 64GB RAM would be a blessing to run After Effects + Photoshop / Davinci altogether...Having to give that up because the 2024 RAM is soldered. @@eladbari this year Asus added 3rd (small but with really high RPM) fan in G14 and G16 models (except G16 with 4080 and 4090 which have Vapor Chamber cooling and 2 fans). In turbo it goes on something like ~8000RPM which creates so pitchy and irritating sound. Performance mode a bit better but also can be frustrating after longer use.
The G14 (2024) is better and worth the extra, but I would hesitate to buy either model. This year, you could do yourself a favour and avoid buying Intel or AMD gaming/pro laptops, as both have peaked, and their 2024 chipsets are only a sideways upgrade. From what I have seen, this is quite disappointing, and the 2023 machines with worse efficiency and the ancient Iris iGPU would be a terrible buy.
