I'm obsessed with laptops, even though I know exactly which specs I want, it is so hard to pick the right laptop, and the right time to buy it. Your channel helps a lot! There are so many who do this, you are the best!
Awesome list! But it's crazy that the ASUS VivoBook Pro 16X (K6604JI) is so overlooked. It's basically a budget ProArt Studio, i9-13980HX RTX 4070 (120+ W) 16GB RAM (upgradable to 64GB), 3.2K OLED and all the ports you'll ever need.
Wouldn't the best laptop also depend on what kind of video editing software you use? e.g. Adobe Premier vs DaVanci Resolve utilize the CPU and GPU differently.
Now there is a problem with expensive gaming laptops running on Windows. (no one develops laptops specifically for editors). For example, the display matrices of the flagship Asus Rog 18, Acer hpn 18 are of terrible quality. They are difficult to calibrate and give out an overly saturated picture, which goes into a reddish red. I don't understand what 100% sRGB the manufacturer is talking about. Plus, personally, my eyes get tired of these displays. Please share your tips, which fast laptop with an excellent 17-18 inch screen can I take on Windows? Or how can the problems of the above models be solved?
How can I determine the maximum graphics power before I buy? A google search couldn’t easily answer this. A lot of info tells how to navigate within the computer to find this but I want to compare specs prior to purchase.
Wait, that laptop you show at 7:54 is "thin"? Compared to what, a tank? (I have nothing against thick laptop, but I'm just saying that in 2024, a laptop that fits an ethernet jack without any tricks - and could probably fit two of them one above the other - is considered thick...). (nice video, BTW!)
da vinci resolve say a requirement of 12gb vram is needed for 4k editing and fusion page. Would that mean a laptop with rtx 4080 would be best to get instead of 4070
ProArt, as great as it is, still has just a 60 Hz display. This can be quite limiting, especially from a videomaker perspective, since you cannot playback 24 and 25 fps content smoothly on it (30 fps or 60 fps is fine). If I may give any advice, even though you do have more detailed reviews of the model, I would mention such a deal breaker in an overview like this in the future videos. Thank you for your content nevertheless.
I'm thinking of buying a travel friendly laptop for my huge and complex powerpoint presentations when I travel. Recently, I came across the Legion Go at a shopping mall. I'm wondering if this would be a much more value purchase since it is small with an included GPU, also small without the joysticks compared to a surface pro or something similar in size?
I have the yoga pro 9i 4050 ultra 9 And i updated everything Downloaded the graphics driver and everything, and still it struggles to edit in 1080p and 4k without any overlays
Hi. I’m looking for a laptop for after effects. I’m scared of buying a MacBook Pro 14” 16gb unified memory because I don’t know if it will work longer than 5 years. I’ve watches your video about after effects but most of the laptops you mention aren’t available in my country. I found the Lenovo ThinkPad P16s 3ra Gen (Intel) with 64 GB DDR5-5600MHz (SODIMM) - (2 x 32 GB) RAM, GPU NVIDIA RTX™ 500 Ada Generation 4GB GDDR6, a 16" screen WUXGA (1920 x 1200), IPS, touch, 45 % NTSC, 300 nits, 60 Hz Which one do you think will last longer and actually get the work done smoothly in AE? Thank you 😭🤍
Why does the asus in your link have like 3 of 5 stars ppl arent happy w it...i was leaning towards the asus im saying 16 ram...at least but that alone always seems to jump the price to like least 1000$ 8g ram i can find left amd right for cheap. Dedicated memory another jump...i hate this
Can you make a review on asus zephyrus 2024 g14 ryzen r9 nvidia 4050rtx 32gb...just got it and its actually amazing and the 90w 4050rtx is actually perfect on that model
Very rarely 32gb ram is needed in video editing. Benchmarks showing clearly the non exciting benefits of 32. The win is small for the most heavy projects - so only interesting for professional users. But, if price differences between 16 and 32 is small then no reason to ignore 32 😊
i have the samsung edge 4 with highest spec and I edit in da Vinci resolve. for the most of it, it is okay, for simple editing and colour grading, however the fusion page does not work at all and if I happen to go onto the fusion page it will bug out the whole edit and I would have to restart the programme. This is because there is no Vram
Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i is great, but has bad GTG (gray to gray) and BTW (black to white) values. Does it matter for video editing? IMO, it would feel like a jelly.

I still prefer my Gen 8 32GB RAM Legions (Slim) 14 and i16
What about Snapdragon X Elite laptops?
I have a whole section with my opinion on Snap Dragon in the video.
