Love this. This is the best tutorial on snow globe tumblers I've ever seen. The way you broke it down so we can understand how it's done. I was skeptical about the black but the iridescent glitter really came through.
I'm glad I came across your video!!! these are absolutely beautiful!! I'm stuck on my 1st cup! maybe I'll empty the liquid and add color! gonna watch more of your vids!
Loved your video, I've never tried it mixing all three liquids together. Usually i only use bottled water & glyderin. I'll have to try this, thank you! 😊
I do see some people adding liquid beforehand and I’ve tried it a couple times and don’t prefer it. Once the hole gets wet, the glitter will get clogged there. Could maybe try one of those bottles with the angled tip so it goes directly down the side.
You’re the first person that I’ve seen use Elmer’s glue that actually worked. I’m going to try your measurements. FYI, I always add a little liquid first, it makes it easier to mix.
Thank you! I’ve tried adding liquid before glitter and it caused my glitter to clump at the hole because it’s wet. so I spent a lot of time cleaning the hole in between adding the glitter. Did you experience this?
@@endlessdesignsbylou2539 I tried the liquid first also and it did the same for me. It was wet and then I couldn’t top it off because the glitter just clumped at the hole. I have a question though. I’ve been seeing a lot of videos to allow OT to sit and degass so you don’t have a bubble at the end and I notice yours has that bubble at the end. I just don’t like it to look like it’s not full.
Do what works for you. I noticed that I needed to add more liquid which I usually do by tilting the cup and adding more. Sometimes I let them sit and there’s still bubbles, and sometimes I don’t and I don’t have bubbles. For me, it’s just a case by case bases. But yeah the water on the hole is a disaster for me for sure lol
Thank you! Majority of those glitters are from Walmart , a couple from Michaels. I love how they’re stackable! Also if you’re looking for more variety, try glitterificappeal.com . Good price and fast shipping. I also have 4 cases of rhinestones shown in the video, so I’m not sure if you’re referring to that lol.
Thank you!! Any double walled cup is safe to use. Epoxy, once cured, turns into plastic. Just make sure you rub the epoxy vertical vs horizontal around the cup because it’s easier to see lines since they’re clear.
Thank you! I’m happy I could help. I bought them from peachscrystals.com. Sometimes she runs a BOGO Free box sale and that’s how I ended up with 4 😂🤦🏽♀️ and you choose your colors.
Also have you ever tried adding a little bit of liquid in the tumbler first then adding all the Glitters and then adding Your solution after you have all your Glitters in to try and stop it from sticking to the top of the cup?
Yes I have and after the hole gets wet, it’s hard for the glitter to go down . It gets stuck and I’m too impatient for that. Someone said it works for them. Although I had to fix a leaking tumbler yesterday and I left a little bit of liquid, it works but I was frustrated with the hole. I had to use a safety pin to clear it out.
have you ever encountered the paint pigment settling in the cups if you dont move the glitter/solution around ? like.. if you left the cup on the table for 2-3 weeks.. i find that the pigment can settle - and it's all fine once you roll it around etc etc
No actually I haven’t. This was my first time using acrylic paint actually and it was over a month ago and it looks the exact same. I don’t use the cup or move it around at all and the blue is still just as vibrant with no settling. I wish I could Include a photo to show you lol. But maybe it’s the type of paint being used maybe? The only pigment that settles is the mica, which you can see in the video.
@@endlessdesignsbylou2539 aw man.. i literally watched so many videos, doing it the same way - im thinking, the only difference is i use the glue/water method - perhaps that makes a difference... Thanks for helping!! i loveeee the scream tumbler - did you cover with epoxy? i was looking into crystalac as an alternative bc of my little one at home - wondering if that could work
No problem! I do think the solution matters as well. Too much water may cause it to settle vs it sticking to the glue and glycerin. You could drain it and start over if you haven’t done so already! And yes I use epoxy. I use to do it in a spare bedroom but eventually got more spinners so I moved to the garage. I have seen people use crystalac !
After looking at my cup a little bit more in the light, I can see that the paint did settle a little bit. The liquid is still blue so it’s hard to tell but at the very top it looks more transparent if that makes sense but it’s not clear.
I've been trying to color my liquid with acrylic paint but it never mixes 😭 it just breaks up into tiny clumps and never actually combines with it.. I'm using only vegetable glycerin and water, do you think adding glue would make it easier to combine? I'm at a loss to why it won't mix
I think it’s worth a try. I’ve never tried mixing the paint with glycerin and water only. It could be because oil and water don’t mix so the paint isn’t sticking? I tried experimenting once and wanted to create two colors in one cup and my food coloring wouldn’t mix with the glycerin or water.
@endlessdesignsbylou2539 That could be, it's strange though because the glycerin and water mix together perfectly, but when I try to add the paint it just clumps.. I even tried mixing it with just the glycerin, and the same happened. Interesting, but your food coloring mixes well with all 3 together? So maybe something about adding the glue helps it combine
Do you usually add epoxy to your vinyl or you really don’t have too? I’m sort of stuck there since I made my first snow globe tumbler and added some vinyl decal but debating wether to add epoxy on the decal some ppl say you don’t have too, just wanting your opinion ☺️
Yes I add epoxy for customers because I don’t want anything peeling up and I don’t know if they want to feel the vinyl. I’ve seen people use clear vinyl shield if they don’t want to epoxy. I’ve also used the seal it pen for a friend who didn’t want epoxy.
@@endlessdesignsbylou2539 seal it pen? Ooooo I’m going to look for that because I can’t epoxy. I do this because I’m disabled and need to craft to not go crazy but epoxy is too hard for me and dangerous. So I’m going to look for this pen. My vinyl lifts after a while and I don’t want that.
There’s also clear vinyl shield! It might be better, especially if your vinyl is thin or layered, i haven’t used it yet but I learned about it months ago.
@@endlessdesignsbylou2539 I just saw that right now. So do you make the same design just layered slightly bigger so it’ll cover your design? And cut with the Cricut the same?
Sorry about that ! I created a straight line with tape and covered the cup (as you saw) then sprayed the bottom with gold metallic rustoleum spray paint and added the gold glitter (from Walmart). I sealed the glitter with mod podge spray and let it dry. Then once I added the epoxy over the cup, I used white alcohol ink and a heat gun to move it around. Hope this helps!

@EndlessDesignsbyLou I also had a very hard time hearing you at the end and I agree that I would love to see how you finished up the beach tumbler if you don’t mind. Thank you for this snow globe tumbler video. I think I might give them a try soon.
Starbucks cups no, the Maars cups from Amazon yes. You can do a water test by filling your sink up with water, submerging your cup and if you see water in between the layers, it’s not sealed. You can seal the rim with regular or uv resin .
I haven’t purchased any recently but I usually call around to different Starbucks locations or go to the one in Target. I’m not sure if you have Kroger but they sell them as well. People sell them on Etsy but of course it’s more expensive. And I’ve seen them on Alibaba.com but you’ll have to wait a few weeks for them.
I'm DEFINITELY a beginner... how much glitter do you use in your tumblers. What's the Elmers cheese glue and water ratio. I've did 3 and EVERYTIME I filled the cup up, but ended I turn it right side up the next morning, it's no longer filled... HELP PLEASE
I honestly never have a set amount of glitter. It’s typically halfway between the bottom and first line. Some people fill to the first line but I think that’s too much. When I pour the glitter in, I don’t shake the cup to see where it’s at. It usually builds up on one side , which is past all the lines if that makes sense? My ratio is 1/4 cup glue and glycerin . 1/2 water . I’ve known the liquid to evaporate using different methods and ratios and this works best for me. Did you seal the bottom? You should be able to refill.
UPDATE: I recently switched to using Flex Seal tape to seal the hole. It’s commonly used to seal water which is perfect for these cups!

Why do you use clear glue and glycerin
To create a slow flow for the glitter. If it was just water, it would fall to the bottom immediately.
i learned when making tumblers the best way to get rid of the bubbles is spraying alcohol on it, disappears instantly!
Why not put some of your liquid in before you add glitter
Because I don’t like that method. I’ve tried it and once the hole gets wet, the glitter starts to clog up the hole.
