Soo I have been told from a few people that the glycerin molds..Since this is the first time using it I haven’t experienced that myself BUT I will keep an eye on that and update you all as needed. I’m also going to test a few other mixtures🥰
It isn’t the glycerin that’s molds. It’s the water. You just need to make sure to use distilled water 💜
I added just a little alcohol to my mix to avoid any future mold
I've heard it's the water in the mixture also, so you have to use distilled. I use distilled in all my artwork, so I always have it on hand.
Hi did your cup ever mold? I’m curious because I just bought the one you recommended before finding out that it can mold.
@@priscillay713 you will be fine as long as you use distilled water.

Thanks
Have you tried baby oil with contact solution?
I did a few tumblers with 1c warm water to 1tbsp of clear glue. Helps the glue mix better and very few bubbles when adding it to the tumblers. They flowed really well.
Is that 1 Cup.warm Warter
Watching 2023 to start a 2024 craft venture. Thank you for this video!! I will keep this in my vault for reference and send people to watch it too. People may be on their DIY craft venture and learning ways to do things is so helpful. Thanks again!!
I love how you added glitter to your resin to seal the bottom brilliant idea. Thank you for testing these out for me
Glue with water is my favorite! Also it's 1 part glue to 3 parts water. And you also have to let it de-gass for an hour.
How much of glue and water would you say? Maybe 3/4? 1 cup?
@@jocelynparedes2292Wouldn't it depend on the size of the jar you're using?
I love your video you are the first person that did not load down your cup with glitter I love this video❤❤❤
This was so helpful! I've seen different tutorials, but no one has ever compared them side by side. So helpful! I really like the look of the glycerin best! Thank you!
This has been very helpful to see 4 at once instead of separate videos. Once you got the dixie cups and had them labeled I immediate thought this is just like a science fair experiment!!!
I’m so glad it was helpful! Yes it was definitely more of an experiment type video rather than a tutorial but I had a great time with it💖💖
I love how you give details , I don't normally likes lengthy videos but I made an exception with this video ❤
For the glitter I use a frosting tip. It goes in a lot quicker. I get it done in less that a minute 😊
Thank you, I’ll give that a try next!
How do you use the frosting tip?
So thankful for you making this video! I tried the glue and water and I think that with your mixture you may have added too much glue. I have yet to find a good ratio to mix but I've noticed that if I fill up the cups to the max with no room for air pockets, it is a better outcome for the glue mixture. Shaking glue and water is going to give you the bubbly mixture that you are getting here. When the glitter is stuck at the top of the cup I hold it in my palms and shimmy the cup back and fourth quickly and it disperses the liquid into the glitter better. Hope this helps! Thanks again for making this awesome comparison! I really enjoyed it!
TY. This was hugely helpful for me. I’m new to crafting. New Nana needing an outlet when I’m here unable to get out.
I love all your videos and this one was so helpful! I’ve been getting ready to start snow globe tumblers and out of all the videos I’ve watched on the different methods, nobody has done one video comparing all the different methods at once, so thank you for making this! And thank you for using the same cups and glitter for all the methods so we can really get a good comparison of how each method looks when finished, the perfect way to compare. Now I am off to make my own tumblers, thanks again for such a great video!
Thank you so so much!
nice - TYVM for doing this for us all - you saved a lot of us a lot of money
I like the glycerin also i use to make snow globes and that was the one i liked,Thank you for teaching us,
I like the comparisons. My favorite is contact solution mixed with glycerin for a great flow.
Omg! I’ll have to give that a try next lol! There’s just endless possibilities😄
What is the ratio you used for contact solution and glycerin?
@@draginlowpos I use 50/50 to start with. You can add more of either one as you go. If want better flow add extra glycerin and if you want more clarity add more contact solution.
This and the first video Best for beginners. I can't wait to start. Getting my supplies asap. Thank you
Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
I won a bunch of snow globe tumblers in a raffle, and never did them before. I was looking for a comparison video. This was fantastic.
I was just scrolling RUclips, and found you. I am now a new subscriber as well 😊
I have been wondering what to use and I am so happy you did this video. Now I know glycerin it will be with the tips from the other designers❤️
Good morning, thank you so much for thos video. I am completely new to snowglobe tumblers. I just happened to purchase that exact same kind of glycerine but wasn't quite sure what to expect or what solution I should have went with to start.. completely happy with my decision.. sure hope it turns out as well as your's did! Thank you again.. now off to watch the rest of your tumbler videos so I can learn from the beginning! 😊
I am really glad that you did this. thank you.. I was curious how they all flowed.. I have been looking for a slow-moving mixture.. I loved the glycerin flow.. But I am now nervous about the mold.. LOL I currently use glue and water.
I'm glad you did this...it saved me from having to do this experiment myself!!! I've been learning how to make these types of tumblers and I'm wondering if there is a reason you didn't fill the entire void with the different solutions? Is there a reason you left as much air-space as you did?
I was wondering this too. I know you have to allow space for the glitter to move but I thought it could have been filled more with the solutions.
Most people do after about a day or so, the solution needs some time to air out depending on which one you go with and typically from the videos I’ve seen, it takes at least 12-24 hours for any bubbles stuck in the glitter to come out to the top so when you come back to the cup the next day you’ll see it’s lower than how you filled it. Then you can add more to your liking. But I know some people like to have a lower amount of liquid like she did
Great presentation of comparative study. This is gold. Very professional.
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it🥰
Thank you for sharing this wonderful information. I’ve been struggling with the storyboard tumblers so I wanted to try these. So I purchased TERVIS tumblers, very similar to the Maars ones. I was wondering how to seal it when finished, love the silicone option. Can’t wait to make them. I loved the glycerin option as it clears up so nicely. Thank you.
Thank you for this!
I like how you added glitter to the epoxy seal!
Thank you!!
@@crissycreatesofficial no issue with the epoxy lifting on top of the silicon seal?
Tried the glycerin last night. This was my first time doing this. This morning my tumbler appears to have less liquid and that creates an airy space at the top. Your presentation was great. I appreciate your effort to share your gifts so others can be blessed also.
I watched someone else do this and what they said was that there is a lot of air in the glitter so once you shake it up by putting your finger over the hole let it settle, add more liquid to top and repeat a few times until there is no more space for liquid
How much glysaring to how much glitter please?
Thank you for taking the time to compare these. I like how you used glitter for the bottom in the fast set.
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video!
Thank you so much for this. I have wanted to try snow globe tumblers next and was wondering what solution to try!! I think I’ll go with the glycerin! I loved the flow in it!! Awesome video!
Have you made one yet? How did you like the glycerin?
I did my first one! It turned out so cool. I used my favorite iridescent glitter and threw in some holographic stars as well as some glow in the dark stars! ❤
That sounds gorgeous!
Which solution did you use?
Loved your tutorial. It raised my confidence level quite a bit. I’ve been struggling with the snow globe tumblers, so wanted to give this a try. Purchased TERVIS tumblers which are similar to Maars brand. Loved the glycerin option, and was told to use distilled water instead of tap. Was unaware about molding so I may try a few drops of bleach. Can’t wait to make these. Thanks for sharing this wonderful information.
I just bought the same brand of glycerine! If you use purified or distilled water and fill the cup with the solution there shouldn't be any mold or clouding issue with the glycerine.
Hi, are you talking about the vegetable glycerin? I know there’s two kinds, the food grade one and other.
@@annon3485 Food grade. If you use distilled water and seal it properly there should not be any mold.
Thanks so much!😊
Thank you for saving me time and money. ❤
I have used both the glycerin and water and glue and water and both work great! The key to the glue and water is using 1/4 glue to 3/4 water ratio, rather than the 50/50 like the glycerin.
Thank you! I will definitely try again using less glue and see if I like it better.
I also think mixing the glitter in the solution before can help keep it from clumping in the cup.
Water needs to be hot too
What brand do you use?
Can you add glitter with the glue and water?
Thank you 👍❤️ im glad i didnt have to waste a load of money trying these things 🥰
Thank you so much for this.. you saved me a lot of time figuring it out. Your very very good at speaking
Was exactly the review that i was looking for. Thank you!
So awesome! The most helpful video I’ve seen. Now I can’t stop making them lol
Thank you for putting this in one video. I actually like the baby oil and water
You're so welcome!
Thanks so much for doing this video, it really helped me decide what to use. I would definitely prefer the glycerine solution the best. Sending blessings & hugs!!!
I have been very interested in started to advance my business and been intrigued with the globe tumblers and I love how detail and step by step you go about going about it thank you so much I can't wait to start to make snow globe tumblers thank you so much.
So I also make these cups and use the glue method. You need to add more liquid to the glue one, your getting bubbles because if you shake it, it sloshes around making bubbles. Also its much faster using condiment bottles to fill, so much faster than pippets.
My cups liquid flow slower and suspends the glitter longer.
All my glitter is getting sticks at the top of my tumblers. Has this ever happened? Should I just use chunky glitter?? I know this is old but if you read this I’d love your advice
@@sasha7173 what I do is pour some liquid 1st. I use 1/2 water 1/2 clear Elmer's glue. Then put the glitter then finish putting the rest of the liquid till you fill it up. That happened to me the 1st time.
IVE BEEN LOOKING EVERYWHERE FOR THIS KIND OF VID!
Thank you for making this video. I was about to attempt to make a tumbler for my daughter and I appreciate the information. Keep the videos coming! You're doing an awesome job!! Peace and Blessings!!
Glycerin is my favorite. I have never used anything other than glycerin. I just love the flo!!!!
How much glycerine did you use?
@@stephaniegonzalez5672 Yes, what is the ratio?
Thank you for sharing! My favorite is glycerin and water!
this vid was super helpful! cost effective comparison, especially for working with kids projects other than tumblers, thank you!
Your video was very thorough and informative. It helped me figure out which one I would like to use for my cups. I never heard of using glycerin and that will be the one I use. It does have a neat flow to it and the glitter didn't sink. I did like the contact solution as well. Thank you so much for your time with making this video 🥰
For me , the glycerin clumped up my fine glitter and there were chunks and all of it rose to the top if it sat still . So basically there would be some glitter at the bottom, the middle would be clear and the top would be the glitter (turned into chunks) at the top .
The glue , for me that’s my favorite . I didn’t have any trouble putting the mixture into the cup using a syringe . I filled it up all the way to the top. As much as I possible could do there aren’t as many bubbles . ☺️
I agree!! I just tried the glue and water and I like it but I think I could have used more glue. I haven't found a legit ratio of glue to water so I'm testing waters. I also fill up my tumblers to the max, no room for air pockets whatsoever. I don't like that way they look half full of liquid. What ratio have you been successful with the glue and water mixture? thanks!!
@@tbpaslay try 1c warm water and 1 tbsp of clear glue!
I used the glycerin and it clumped as well. I’m super upset…
Thank you soo much for this video! I'm going to try the glycerin and water its my first time 😁
Thank you for this video. I will be making these snowglobes.
Glycerin and contact solution gives me great flow and crystal clear! Just gotta agitate during fill or glitter will stay at top and cup will be hard to fill
Do you mix these half and half ?
After watching I wondered what the combination of contact solution and glycerin would look like. I'd also appreciate the ratio, if you don't mind. :)
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I haven’t made I’ve of these yet but it’s been in my head to do. Just didn’t know what to use for the liquid. Glycerine for sure. Blessings.
The Glycerin is beautiful!!!❤❤❤❤
Would you do a comparison of glitter types next? I am wondering if the problems I've been having with my glitter tumblers stem from the type of glitter I'm using. I'm using extra chunky but it is just sitting there and not falling.
When I use a funnel, I found it works faster when I poke the glitter down with a toothpick. I swivel it around the bottom part and goes much quicker.
Thank you! This is awesome! I been trying to find the best solution to make a fake wine bottle table! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
Thanks i always wanted to know which one was best
Thanks for you tips!! I loved !! Muchas gracias lo amé !!
Thank you for that video! I tried the baby oil and it was a fail for me! I think it was more to do with the skinny tumbler I had which had limited movement! I ordered the glycerin and super excited for its arrival on Friday! Thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️
How did it work out on your 2nd go around???
@@aliciat2216 I used the 50/50 glycerin and water. Used more glycerin if you want a slower movement with your glitter. Also I’ve bought arcrylic cups from Amazon which look exactly like Starbucks but had a hit and miss with it leaking from the rim!!! I tried a Starbucks one surprisingly with no problems. I was so worried with it leaking from the drilled hole but it was the dam rim!
I used UV Resin around the rim to prevent leaks.
Happy to see you. Still beautiful 😍
So glad you did this. Now I can save money trying to buy all the things to experiment. I’d love to see a video using matte medium paste to make those whip cream lids for hot cocoa drip cups. There just aren’t many available and I need to see multiple people do it before I attempt it.
I’d be happy to get that going!
🤭🤗🤗🤗Awesomeness!!
Thanks for making this video, I’m thinking of starting to make these so knowing what products to use are super helpful. Thanks so much!!!!
Thanks for sharing this!!! I was also wondering if can you put these in the freezer?
With the glue, you need to put a few drops of 90% alcohol in with the mis to prevent bubbles. I'm not sure about any other solutions bc I haven't tried them. But personally the glue I have tried.
I love the glycerin and contact solution the best!
It seems if someone wanted the same effect as the contact solution they could just use distilled water? cheaper.
I just ordered some cups to start making these. Thanks for doing these videos, makes for good research as I get set up
Loved your video, I will also be using the glycerin as that seems to have the flow I prefer. Thank you for doing this video for us. 💕
Thank you soooooo much, it helps me to decide what to use. So useful video!
great and informational video - thank you
Hello and Thank you for the amazing video. I like the oil also. How much of glycerin do add to water?
I think she said 1/2 and 1/2 or I saw that somewhere.
Thank you! Not gonna lie... I started to panic hoping I had not bought the wrong stuff to try my first one. I didn't. I bought vegetable glycerin 🙂
Awesome! I love it!
I think the Glycerin was the best. thanks for sharing
Your video is very interesting for me, and I would like to do a snow globe with glitter and artificial snow, can you tell me a link for the snow suitable for this project? I hope you can help me. Sorry for my bad English, I’m Italian 😩
I agree with you. The glycerin is my favorite
What was the mixture measurements? Please for an update on your cups.
Thank you for doing this video for us! I appreciate it! Can't wait to buy stuff to try and make them.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you❤️
I like the contact solution but wonder if you added like 20% glycerin if that would make a perfect solution.
Where did you get these snowglobe tumblers please mame and thank you helped me so much!!!
Thank you for posting the differences I am new to this. Also at the end when you covered the holes what type of resin do you use?
I used the Fast Set Resin from Counter Culture DIY (CCDIY). There’s a link in the description of the video.
@@crissycreatesofficial Thank you I saw your post afterwards, so sorry.
No worries! I’m always happy to help💖
I’m tempted to see what would happen if you combined contactless fluid with glycerin?
Same! I came to the comments to see if anyone has haha
Thank you so much!! I’m just starting to create the tumblers and this was so helpful!!
Can you use contact solution with baby oil?
Hi sugar and spice! Thank you for this video a new b with these glitter tumblers your video has a lot of information for us ! Can you tell us the ratios you used please ?
1:1 ratios so 50/50
Thank you so much 😊
Question: I tried to make one with glycerin and my question is how far the glass is filled and when it is still the glitter sits, it is normal.
So can you use any of the product as a whole and not add water and could you mix the glycerin and or baby oil contact solution together?
Thank you for doing this!!
I love the glycerin the best. Do you resin coat the decals so they don’t come off?
My favorite is glycerin thank you wanted to decide for my tumbler that I’m using confetti
I think the one I'm going to do as a gift I'm going to use the contact solution seems the most hastle free and guaranteed sterile. I've seen a lot of molded glycerin cups.... ick but maybe those people use tap water.... I'm going to do some as practice anyways before the real one and I had a few ideas Inwanted to play with anyways!
Yes the contact solution is the most straight forward! I’d totally go hassle free for a gift lol
Hi this is a awesome video can I use the epoxy risin instead of the fast set
This video was so helpful!! Loved it 💜💜
Thank you for this information. I practiced with an old tumbler and the glue mixture and had the same problem. I am going to purchase some glycerin from Michael's right now. 😉
Thank you for the glue feedback! I am here searching for feedback
This video was so helpful! Thank you!!
Thank you for showing a comparison of each solution ! This is so cool and I’m adding it to my list of projects, personally I like how fluid the glycerin is.
I’m interested in creating a “milky” look with the glycerin solution. Would you happen to know which ingredients will give that effect?
You’re welcome, I’m glad you enjoyed the video
You need acrylic paint for that! You can mix like a drop of white and some pink and mix just a bit though!
Or mica powder maybe?
@@mz__jehhh mica is good as well. It does give a pearlescent reflect, it really is based on preference.
what about baby oil by itself ? i’ve seen other shakers with just baby oil and seems to work good , but i haven’t seen straight baby oil on cups .
For some reason I’ve never heard of this happening to anybody else but when I use the glycerin for my Starbucks snowglobe and Tumblrs because I have a small business and I sell them I let one sit for a few months before I actually ended up starting my business and the glycerin ended up molding which was really weird because I’ve never heard that happen to anyone else or maybe just people don’t talk about it but I thought it was so odd, now I use like 80% water and 20% glue but I just don’t know how I feel about it I want that super pretty slow flowing make sure without it being bubbly or molding
I’m so sorry that happened to you. It’s actually pretty common from what I’ve heard but I personally have not have it happen to me. I would try again using distilled water and glycerin and see if that helps. I’ve also head of some people adding a small amount of alcohol to their water. I can’t confirm for sure if it will work for you but those are some methods I’ve seen others talking about.
I wonder what would happen if you replaced the water with the contact solution in the other mixes.
i’ve never seen that happen with the clear glue. i love using it maybe it’s bc it’s the amazon brand 😂 thanks for the comparison though !
I was told I needed to warm up the water a bit 🥴
Thank you for this great video 👍👍
