    I have one. A Mazda cx-60 PHEV. I love it. My wife has a new Q5 black edition and likes my car better. Mazda have upped there game with this car.
    Always room for improvement but it’s now 100% in luxury SUV market.
    If you’re looking for a luxury suv this has to be on your list of potentials. Excellent car!

      And while I remember.
      I drive roughly 60-70 miles per day. Last time I checked my MPG dash info it stated I am getting 94.4 mpg.
      For this you really do have to charge it every time it’s sitting in the driveway.

      as a recent Mazda convert (CX5 ) I understand, the CX5 is a really good looking car, but I have to say pick the right colour, combined with the "Black chrome" and the CX 60 is simply stunning and on top of that standing next to it it has .....PRESENCE!!! it feels every inch PREMIUM!! The CX5 has it too but the CX60 is in a whole new league.

    In my MHEV 2023 2.0 non-turbo CX-5 Exclusive-Line with DAP, I can feel the battery recuperating the energy at 28 and 18 mph respectively. It happens as I ease off the accelerator and cruising to a stop. It doesn't do it all the time because i-Stop activates when the battery is fully charged at a standstill. The battery does kick in and boost acceleration, it is noticeable and also allows music from wireless Android Auto to be played without the engine started.
    I have owned this from 2nd October 2023.
    Best feature is the opening sunroof that allows the dumping of accumulated stale air without breathing in outside exhaust fumes. It's done in seconds and can be closed almost immediately.
    I love the Jimba Ittai because everything is to hand. I am a disabled driver and the placement of everything feels so natural.
    Next, I am looking at getting the CX-60 in Takumi spec and petrol.
    I like Mazda, fell upon them by accident and haven't found anything that puts me off them yet.
    Love your channel.

    The car is clearly a new, modern project, daring but with common sense. The sophistication of the chassis is commendable and the courage to bring 6 inliners speaks for itself, meanwhile in the market V8s disappears and 4 inliners are branded prestigiously. I think Mazda should import also the cx 50 & 70 from the US.
    I considered this car as a purchase and got interested into it lately. Unsurprisingly your review is the best I saw so far: being just an early bite, I really look forward for the main course. I think the hybrid powertrain could contemplate also a more modern petrol, already in the lineup elsewhere. The way Mazda follows looks akin to Volvo in seeking to raise brand profile from yesteryears stereotypes. And bravo, bravo, bravo..... 👏 BRAVO!

      No need to buy this. It’s mad expensive for a mazda. For that money you can get a slightly used S-Class, 7 series, A8, A7, A6, A5, X5, X6, GLE maybe an E-class maybe a 5 series… man there’s so many REAL LUXURY choices that I can’t even name them all here.
      I drive a new mazda for work. CX-30. Everything you say it’s true. I wouldn’t pay more than 15k more for that.
      And this CX-60 cant be worth 60k. They get outplayed by any luxury car at that price.

      @@m78881 Your point is correct in my opinion. I replaced it with a 1 year old Mercedes C220d premium plus sport. It only cost me 10k for the upgrade. I drove a brand new CX-30 when my 3 was getting a service. The CX-30 rattled like hell. They are great cars to drive though.

    • @m78881

      @@MosesKaldor That’s my point. I don’t really think Mazda is a bad car. In my opinion it drives really good (newer models) since they’re focused towards comfort. I’ve driven a brand new Toyota and it felt like a tractor compared to the CX-30 I take to work. But it’s not that good either.
      However, the price is really high and really isn’t a “luxury” car. It’s not isolated like one, it does not have that much power and it doesn’t have the quality of a German car. It doesn’t feel like one.
      I drove a 2001 BMW 530d (E39) and I can promise you it has better quality than any new Japanese/normal cars. This kind of vehicles should be priced fairly. At max 20K. Mercedes A class can beat the top of the line of Japanese cars in terms of quality.
      60K for a Mazda it’s insane. However considers paying that, should first test drive any of the cars I’ve listed above in my previous comment.
      Cheers.

    It’s quite a good alternative to a BMW X3, considering that the CX-60 is a RWD based D-SUV like the X3. However, I don’t appreciate the fake quad exhausts (similar to the ones used in VW R Line vehicles).
    And fun fact: in North America, they will be getting the wider CX-70, which will likely use a RWD based platform.

    • @kevinW826

      We will also be getting the cx9 replacement the cx90. Both will be rwd based. The cx70 will be a two row suv the same size as the cx9 and the cx90 will be the bigger three row. Cx90 will have a 6 cylinder turbo engine with hybrid setup, or so I heard. The cx70 will be a four cylinder hybrid, hopefully.

    I'm not sure you know much about cars. I test-drove the diesel version of this car yesterday. The power, interior design, and exterior appearance are impressive. It felt great driving on flat roads. However, the road noise was quite loud when driving over coarse chip at speed. It's not a quiet highway cruiser; instead, it's loud and boomy. The suspension feels cheap and doesn't effectively absorb bumps or road imperfections. Additionally, there was a small rattle in the dashboard. Overall, I would not recommend this car yet, but I'd like to one day, after Mazda do the engineering properly, and address the asking price. Its unresolved.

      At the moment I wouldn't recommend a PHEV at all, because IMO its the worst of both worlds. You need to charge it regularly and cheaply (i.e. preferably at home or at work), but unless your commute is no more than 3/4 of the claimed range (half to be on the safe side), you're not taking full advantage of it on daily basis. I know some people make it work, and fill up their PHEVs with petrol twice a year, but it really needs to fit their daily lives.
      Also, these days you're probably not getting benefits/incentives, like you would on an EV.
      Forget performance. BMW PHEVs are crap at being PHEVs, but they deliver performance. This Mazda may have 300-something hp, but it's still a family hauler.

    I'm currently looking at used CX-60s PHEV and Diesel/Petrol Hybrids. I have done a good 100km test drive for all 3 variants for the Homura trim. My only issue is the mileage. Test drive was done with a good mix of city, B-roads and autobahn. The PHEV at full battery couldn't achieve anything below 8.8L/100km. The Petrol hybrid could do at best 7.5L/100km. The diesel on the other hand did very well at 5.5-6.0L/100Km. As for the prices for with mileage between 15-20k km on it. The PHEV/Petrol hybrid are going for 42k-46k€ but the diesel never goes below 50k. does this mean the Diesel is more desirable out of the 3? Mind you the second hand units I'm looking at are either demonstration vehicles or a jahreswagon. With all the flak diesel is getting, I would have expected it to be the cheaper on but no! It's atually the more expensive one. How is it in your area?

    I really want to like Mazda. Their interior design team is doing a great job. The exterior designers though seem to be asleep at the wheel. The MX5 is sharp, and the newest CX50 is nice enough ....but seriously Mazda, move on from the fake vents and your old design themes.
    And their marketing team creating all of these new vehicles CX50, CX60, CX70, CX80, CX90? Really? Is the CX60 the CX70 coming here? And CX3, CX5, CX9? CX30? No serious full BEV yet? I think, the lack of PHEV and being between luxury and regular OEM status has hurt them. Look over at hapless Mitsubishi. Even they figured out the Outlander PHEV. Good EV range, good sized box SUX = gov't rebate, and big sales.

    It looks perfect for Europe’s narrow roads. But it looks weird being so long and narrow? How does Mazda manage to get design so so close to good looking and somehow hit it with the “ugly stick” in the last 10pc. This one’s bound for Australia too but “strooth” it’s ugly in the front. And it’s expensive! It’s still just a Mazda (not a bad thing) after all. Perhaps it’s got a good personality?

      I later found out there is a stronger regen setting in the infotainment system, but I was told it's not one pedal driving strong. Also, accessing it through an on-screen menu, rather than having a button on the dash means you're not likely to take full advantage of it.

    What was the fuel economy?
    "much more" the WLTP didn't help.
    I am between this The X-Trail and old Skoda Kodiaq TDI.
    Diesel is best for me but tax in UK is prohibitive compared to the CX60.
    I drive 200-300 miles per day, so I love the diesel economy.

    • @MarekDrivesENG
      @MarekDrivesENG  Год назад +1

      AFAIK it's still TomTom. Not sure about speed camera alerts. Also I'm not sure these are legal in Germany, so the feature may have been disabled during the first drives there.

    • @OllieBurgess
      @OllieBurgess Год назад

      Thank you for such a prompt response. Isn’t it funny how the likes of Waze and Google can have these types of alerts via CarPlay and Android auto but a car manufacturer chosen feature partner can’t have them 🤔

    • @MarekDrivesENG
      @MarekDrivesENG  Год назад +1

      Again, it may be market specific. Google, Waze, TomTom have to comply with local regulations, so if speed camera warnings are illegal in a given market, they will not show up as soon as you cross the border. Similarly Google StreetView is mostly unavailable in Germany. Only some areas were covered, before privacy laws banned further expansion.
      And then there are general CSR considerations. Some carmakers may choose not to add a feature such as speed camera warnings, because they feel responsible for the wellbeing of communities, etc.

      The back space in CX-60 is decent. Not great but depending on the technology of the car and its dimensions, compromises always have to be made. Still, most of the time it is unused and/or occupied by kids. Even adults can travel just fine in it, perhaps not as comfortable as some other cars but not terrible by any means. I think people might lose some fat instead of complaining about cars not becoming buses to fit them inside.

      Disagree. CX60/70/80/90 are all RWD-bias along with a longitudinal powertrain layout. This is a huge, time-consuming engineering development shift from the current FWD-biased CX9 and none of its current direct competitors such as Toyota Highlander/Venza, Honda Pilot/Passport, Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, etc.(except Ford Explorer) use a RWD-biased layout/platform like the CX60/70/80/90. Hell, even the Lexus RX(let alone NX), Acura MDX and Audi Q5 use FWD-biased platform layout.
