In THE TRANSLATERS TO THE READER the King James scholars recommend a 'variety of translations' please note:
“Therefore as S. Augustine saith, that variety of Translations is profitable for the finding out of the sense of the Scriptures: so diversity of signification and sense in the margin, where the text is not so clear, must needs do good, yea, is necessary, as we are persuaded.”
The King James Translaters made their opinion clear on the subject.

"In THE TRANSLATERS TO THE READER the King James scholars recommend a 'variety of translations' please note:......."
I would like to know ..please ...what rendition of the KJV.. you read that in... I own several copies from different publishers regarding the King James.. and I have seen "the King James Dedicatory"... and "How to Use notes".. and "about this translation"...
BUT never have I read any King James bible where in the preface the translator notes state to compare the King James to other translations..
if this was EVER stated in any. King James renditions..... it was stated.. in order to Show by comparison how much GREATER the King Janes rendition is... Not to give people the license to read a heretical bible...

I love their Zeal and passion for Gods word. But Here is my issue with the New IFB and KJV only, because of how much they have taught and worked to establish this movement and how many have made statements that every version but the KJV is perverted.
Some have gone as far as burning NIVs publicly... they cannot turn back on the tradition that snow balled into a megalithic mess.
So when a Man of God, (The Pastor in this video) says that we have translations and agrees that the NIV got it right - it will never sit right with this Pastor who have made their stance against "new age perversions"
      I'm all for the KJV
It's my preferred Bible. But with the knowledge I have acquired throughout the years, I have understood that I HAVE A TRANSLATION. GODS WORD is preserved in The Greek new manuscript. But my Bible and yes even an NIV will does not change the Gospel message, and if cultists/ Satanist tried.. they did a sloppy job removing key doctrines.
Also, Glae riplinger has already be exposed by scholars and experts that almost all her claims have no weight of truth, but rather fabrications to hold her paradigm (no different to CNN and cable news network)
I recommend an oldie where modern Bible translators debate KJV only onlyists. It's a long one, but well worth it if you break it down in days. ITS FAVORITE

    • @johnspartan98

@@Purewordsoftruth1611 Rightly translated is self evident because when the Bible is rightly translated there is NO CONFLICTS. Conflicts mean someone got it wrong, either with translating it improperly, or by interpreting it wrong.
Learn right division and more than 90 percent of errors in interpretation disappear.
I've been doing Bible study for over 100,000 hours (59 years worth). Conflict means error. Worse is when a person denies the conflict their views have with the scriptures, dig their heals in, and stick with the lies instead of dumping the big ego act, swallowing their pride, and accepting the compatible translation and interpretation.
Example: The trinity is unBiblical. It conflicts withe the Bible.....yet most trinitarians are too ego embedded in their false doctrine and will deny the Biblical truth when it's presented to them.
PS: Your 1611 KJV was commissioned by a corrupt King for corrupt reasons. He disliked the Geneva Bible which is Superior to the one he commissioned.
KJV gets some things right, but there are serious errors in it that have led to many heresies.
I know you won't like to hear that, but I can prove it.....as many others already have.
The original Greek, when translated to be entirely compatible with all the other verses, is the true translation.
YAHWEH never promised to preserve His written word in 1611 archaic English. The Greek and Hebrew texts are the preserved word. But some of the Greek texts have been altered, and there again, the compatibility text exposes the errant text and reveals the correct text.

@@pamelaroth3497 The Bible determines whether it's rightly translated and interpreted correctly. Just check out for yourself how the prophets, Jesus, Luke, The apostles, and Paul interpreted the scriptures and note, a false translation will always conflict with the Bible....and that also applies to a false interpretation. Investigate their methods because that's the only way to discover the Biblical method for yourself. I can tell you, but I still encourage you to dig into it yourself.
In a nutshell, the literal, grammatical. historical method that respects the context is the Biblical Method. If a verse is in conflict with the Bible, then it needs to be corrected, and sometimes that takes many hours of study and research.
The correct translation and interpretation HARMONIZES with all the scriptures and does not conflict. Conflict means someone got it wrong.
I compare it to a giant puzzle....all the pieces must fit to make the whole picture.
Or, I compare it to a conductor and his symphony. The trained conductor knows when one instrument is out of tune. Others won't hear it until it's pointed out to them. I point out the man-made errors in the Bible and fix them. Harmony is the goal. Confusion is of the Devil.

And certainly, pastors from other churches shouldn’t be involved in a decision this important that doesn’t pertain to their own church. There is clear structure in the Bible. David, well to be honest I admit that I am no expert on this matter. When it comes to biblical truth all believers must figure out for themselves what errors are grievous enough to justify breaking fellowship and what errors are not grievous enough to justify breaking fellowship. Here we have a KJV only minister who was removed from his position for not being hardline KJV only. A religious fellowship must have certain core beliefs that all must ascribe to in order for there to be a needed unity. However, if a people go to the extreme of having a very extensive and detailed list of beliefs where even the most minor beliefs are elevated to the status of absolutely essential you will end up with a people who feel like they do not have the freedom to think for themselves and form their own opinions. So we need to demonstrate wisdom in where we draw our lines.@@RestoringYourVoice

"...we affirm and avow, that the very meanest (i.e. mediocre) translation of the Bible in English, set forth by men of our profession, containeth the Word of God, nay, is the Word of God. No cause therefore why the Word translated should be denied to be the Word, or forbidden to be current, notwithstanding that some imperfections and blemishes may be noted in the setting forth of it."
They didn't for a second believe that a translation had to be perfect or without blemish to be considered the Word of God. I believe the KJV translators today would consider the ESV, NASB, NKJV and yes, even the NIV, to be considered the Word of God.

My heart breaks for you and those who don’t understand and don’t know. This boat of truly studying God’s word is a hard one to be in. I’ve been here several years (occasionally I jump out because I don’t like it but drowning in a sea of lies is harder). I have had people turn their backs on me. I’ve angered people. I’ve lost friends. I decided a while back that I would just keep my mouth shut and know what I know and not share it but pray others would learn the truth. I don’t like arguing, and to be honest, I’m not confident in myself enough to argue a point that I may not be right in and in doing so cause someone to doubt God because of my failure. I want those I love to understand Him and love Him. So I stopped asking questions publicly. I try to learn on my own. (That’s hard) I use other trusted leaders. And then I research what they say to verify that it’s right. I trust no one but Jesus.
I love KJV. It’s what I read everyday. However, when I have a deep question, I thoroughly study the KJV and Strong’s concordance. I dig into the Hebrew and Greek. (I’m not as fluent as you are but I have enough understanding that I can get to the answers I need) I look at other translations and I try to find and understand the ‘why’. It’s been hard.
People (especially in this area) don’t understand and think that if you even so much as open another translation you must not be saved, you’re a heretic, or any number of other things. Going to the library sometimes causes me to want to dress in disguise. And to top it off if the person doing the studying is a woman that opens ‘a-whole-nother’ can of worms.
I want to shout “if you learn these things you’ll have a greater and deeper love for the Lord” but I quit telling others what I’ve learned.
I want to thank you. You’ve solidified that digging deeper isn’t questioning God, it’s strengthening my foundation. You’ve renewed my desire to keep learning. And to share when the opportunity presents itself.
I don’t know where you’ll be in the coming months but I look forward to hearing you soon.
We continue to pray for you and your family and all of New Center. ❤

Jonathon, here is a question you might ask the KJV only hardliners who had you dismissed from your service. Ask them if there was two or just one salvation gospel. In the book of Galatians in the King James Paul met up with James, Cephas, and John and they gave him the right hand of fellowship to carry the gospel of the uncircumcision to the gentiles while they would carry the other gospel of the circumcision to the Hebrew people. The King James makes it appear as two gospels delivered to two different groups. Other translations show it as one gospel carried to two different groups of people.

Believe it or not there really are those who teach there were two gospels. They even break it down to one being a you can lose your salvation gospel and the other being a once saved always saved gospel. Point is the newer translations make clear in this instance what the King James does not make as clear as the newer translations. The King James here does not rule out the possibility of understanding it as one gospel with two names but you sure have to go to the extra effort of cross referencing this passage with other passages of scripture to avoid the two different gospels conclusion.@@UnbrokenBeliever

When translators go the route of literal thought for thought they open the door for more of their personal theological bias to make it into their translation. By no means am I suggesting that any of the modern translation are as good as the King James. Apparently if I understand you correctly there are no cases where a modern translation ever is more accurate in any single verse of scripture than the KJV. As you go through your Christian life you will constantly come into contact with fellow believers who disagree with you on at least some small doctrinal issue. You will need to choose wisely which opposing views are so serious that they warrant breaking fellowship and which opposing views that you consider unbiblical are not serious enough to warrant the breaking of fellowship.@@UnbrokenBeliever

In relation to Daniel 3:25, the substantive question raised by this Scripture is: Who was the fourth man in the fiery furnace with the three Jewish saints?
    1. Was he an holy angel, one of the “sons of God” (an OT term for angels) in human form to minister to the three saints in their fiery trial? (see Job 1:6, Genesis 18:1-2 & 19:1-2), Or
    2. Was he Christ Jesus, “the form of God” (see Philippians 2:6), manifest in the flesh, in a pre-incarnate visitation to console and strengthen the three afflicted saints?
I believe the latter is correct. In my view, the early English Bibles (WBMS, Geneva & KJV), based on the Majority Text, are correct in their rendering. At best, the NIV and other modern English translations based on the Critical Text are unclear and seem to muddy the waters. (Disclosure: I am not a member of an IFB congregation.)

Yes I have my own copy. It's not what ppl call the 'kjv' today. KJV onlyism doesn't work. It's a good translation but it's a *translation* not divinely inspired. Read the notes from the translators in the KJV and they are clear they aren't KJV only. Why would you be KJV when the translators weren't even KJV only? The New Testament is written in koine Greek and the Old Testament is written in Hebrew and Aramaic. Not english. God chose to inspire Scripture in those languages, not English. And Christians can translate Scripture from Greek and Hebrew to English. Lots of Bible believing Baptists aren't KJV only. Bible believing Baptists that believe in Heaven and Hell, angels and demons, and that the Lord Jesus is truly God Almighty and is the only way to salvation. Scripture is *able* to make one wise for salvation which is through faith in Jesus Christ. And Christians believed in the True Divinity of Jesus Christ Before the KJV 1611 or 1769 was translated! And the Protestant Reformation against Rome was BEFORE the KJV was translated and the first Baptists were NOT KJV. Check the 1689 Baptist Confession. So if you are Baptist, you are descended from Baptist churches that are NOT KJV.

Just like there are many ancient texts we compare with each other to assure an as close to original version of His word we can muster there are many modern translations to compare to each other for the same purpose. God has promised to work all things together for the Good of those that love Him. That includes bringing us His word with all the essentials intact. One thing funny to consider is that 99 percent of the time we hear preaching we hear a translation followed by a paraphrase. The speaker reads a verse then explains it in his own words. In many cases the original meaning is diluted a lot in that one step. I wonder why the KJV onlies are not upset about that.....hhhmmmm

But it should be remembered that these are words spoken by a pagan who is seeking to explain things from his own polytheistic frame of reference; for him the phrase “like a son of the gods” is equivalent to “like a divine being.” Despite the king’s description though, the fourth person probably was an angel who had come to deliver the three men, or was a theophany.

Personally, I stuck with it because I liked how the poetic language was challenging and lent a certain authoritative weight to the Scriptures that seemed to be lacking in most of the modern translations I've looked at - I have a fairly high reading level, so I understand why modern translations need to simplify the language for those who struggle with reading, but to me, it made the passages feel childish, like I was reading a storybook for elementary school children. That's why I like the NASB, it has the weighty, poetic feel to the words but is written with a more modern English vernacular that is far easier to understand and absorb.

You have a good heart and I pray that the Lord blesses you and keeps you and makes His face shine upon you.
The only inspired Words of God are the autographs and we do not have those anymore, unfortunately. All of the translations are based on copies of copies of copies of the autographs.
The authors of the NT (and Jesus) quoted the Septuagint and other versions of the OT, not the KJV. 2 Tim. 3:16-17 says that all scripture is given by inspiration of God and Paul was referring to the autographs, not the KJV. These KJVO folks just don't use the brains that God has graciously allowed them to have.
The KJV translators also add things that were not in almost all of the older manuscripts in many places (e.g. (1) 1 John 5:7 is added but likely not in the autographs since the older manuscripts don't have it and it doesn't align with the verses before it and verse 8, although we don't need it because the Trinity is taught throughout scripture, (2) 1 Cor. 6:20, "and in your spirit, which are God's" was added by the KJV translators and not in most of the older manuscripts). These are just two of the many examples.
My Dad did a wonderful and long series on how the Bible came to be what we have today. He went through everything. He went through the supposed "contradictions" you mentioned (40000 versus 4000) and offered very reasonable explanations. Good job finding those supposed contradictions. There are others as well (e.g. Stephen's account in Acts 7:2-4 of when Abraham left Ur of the Chaldees versus the original account in Genesis) but all can be dealt with satisfactorily.

I have no idea who you are Pastor Burris, however this is a blessing in disguise for you and even for your former church. After 12 years pastoring a church and this is what happens to it's pastor, wow that says a lot about the church, it's spiritual state, especially of the leadership (or lack of). Your former church leadership have serious problems and lack discernment, Christian maturity, love and basic Christian knowledge on bible history and translation. The KJV is a great translation (for me it's the best) however it's not perfect. If a church leadership uses gail riplinger and the other books you showed as an authority on bible history and translation, that church has serious spiritual issues and lacks discernment and people need to either teach them and if they aren't open to talking about these things than leave as it's a sign of serious spiritual defect. Your former church is most definitely a church I would not recommend as it has a spirit not from God and teaches false doctrine (ruckmanism). There is a BIG differences between IFB churches that are hardcore KJV only ''re-inspired'' to KJV only (preferred) ''we think this is the best translation in english but is not perfect''.

I heard some very conflicting messaging in this video. Despite the intentions therein expressed, I have zero doubt that in a few short years -if not months- this pastor will be preaching out of an ESV or NASB, or any other modern version. Now I'm not saying that it is the end of the world if he does. If that's where he's going, may the Lord bless his journey.
All I'm saying is that when you agree to serve in a church that holds a particular prescribed Bible version in their church constitution explicitly, you should not misrepresent your intentions to try to either open the door to other versions secretly, or bash the prescribed version publicly.
It personally absolutely prefer the King James Bible because it has been "settled" for centuries and is safe from being tampered with every three years like all other modern versions do, getting "gender inclusive/neutral and queer ideology" slowly infused in them.
The beautiful, regal and reverential of the KJV language makes me take it to heart deeper and more seriously than other versions that read mundane, like a newspaper.
Also, because it was THE Bible for 4 centuries, it is also responsible for the language that was used to formulate our most beloved confessions of faith, as well as the language used to define most Christian doctrines into the English language.
This makes it easier to memorize as well.
Having said all that, I do own an ESV study Bible and an NASB '95 study Bible that I use sparingly during deep study of certain passages.
But if I WAS a pastor, I would be very careful what I would put forth in front of a congregation.

I'm glad to be in the IFB church that I'm apart of, I've always been wary of onlyism and have scanned some of the material of KJV only proponents such as Peter Ruckman while keeping distance from some of the dubious teachings of such persons. The KJV is my preferred but we must not end up like the Pharisees so concerned with dogma that we miss the entire point.

      What's the "entire point?"

@@Pilgrim-funj Having a heart in unity with God through faith, that's the point, just following the strictures doesn't necessarily mean you're obeying the spirit, which is what's most important.

That bible along with the New World is no good Satan has you deceived into thinking the one bible that's no good is the only good bible . Remember Satan is called the great deceiver .

I stepped down from teaching Sunday School because I mentioned that a certain word is better translated in KJV than other versions. The man that questioned me thought I was advocating for other versions. You cannot even mention a comparison of other versions. You cannot change even change one word in KJV. Very divisive and cultic!
