- This..no joke, almost took me two months. I was cooking 😭 and to be honest, I kinda ate! I was so sad when the Circe saga came out bc I wanted to finish ruthlessness before Circe but now after listening to it for the 330 time I'M SO HAPPY ITS OUT AHHH! Listen to it or I will smack you 🔫
Tbh I'll refrain from four minute or higher long animatic for a while 💀
I'm really happy I had the motivation to do this... again- I almost quit fr but I stuck through!

That's something I like about certain ruthlessness animatics compared to others, som3 of them make it seem like Poseidon doesn't really care but istg(plural) he does
I like how we see from Posedion's perspective for a moment during Odysseus' apology: Just a glint of the smug look he imagined when Odysseus taunted his son. He refuses to see past his own anger, or even hear out the apology he himself demanded. He was set to destroy the ships from the start.
Yep! I wanted to portray how Poseidon heard the scene from polythemus. No wonder why he's angy. Ty!
Hearing out an apology requires there to actually be an apology to listen to. Never once does Odysseus say sorry for his or his crew's actions. All Odysseus offers Poseidon is an excuse, an explanation.
Yeah, going off of what @violeth2255 said, Poseidon knew that if Odysseus had really just meant for him and his men to get away, he wouldn't have ever told Polythemus his real name, but he did it in the end just to spite him. He also never did actually apologize; just gave (false) excuses for his actions and basically lied to the God of the Sea in whose hands his and his men's fates rested.
I really like the way you drew the Cyclops, the idea of them having scales is quite unique and fitting for a son of Posidon! I especially liked the last few seconds with Posidon's 'remember me'.
Tysm, I'm a big mythology nerd so I thought giving em scales would be cool to add to that reference.
i LOVE your take on the destruction immediately after "Die."! you really didn't hold back on the carnage. the flashes of red, that one guy who was impaled... haunting. brutal. and the ghosts surrounding odysseus were excellent. i also loved the way poseidon's form almost dripped down around him at the end there? literally looming over him. so striking. the literal representation of the wolf/shark line was super neat too.

I love this! I love how you made Poseidon a shapeshifter. I love all his different forms. The one piece of advice I would give you is to make Odysseus just a little bit more expressive in the beginning his facial expression looks bored in some places where I don't feel like it fits. But that's just my personal opinion, and you piece this together in a way that I never could have imagined for myself. It's fantastic!

I kinda took it like he's mocking, yes, but also making a point. Kinda like "you didn't have a problem killing someone's son then, so why now?"
It kinda made me wonder if Poseidon feels like Odysseus DID enjoy hurting polyphemus, that's why Poseidon keeps bringing up the fact Odysseus didn't kill him.
Like "everything would have been easier for you if he was dead, i know you CAN kill innocent people with no issues, so why didn't you?"
It gives the vibe that posiden really does think oddyseus chos not to kill polyphemus juat to be an ass and make his son suffer

Oh I LOVE this!! Really fantastic job. I will never get tired of seeing Poseidon turn into water, and I really loved how you had him transform into different forms while he did it. Also love the detail of the horses on his clothes. Amazing job! 💖

Ayee Thank you!! You are the 1st person to point that out! (I believe) I thought the more times Pos berated Ody the more cracked the eye in the ship should be.
Idk if anyone has mentioned this, but I absolutely love the whole theme you were running with when going with all the various masks they were all wearing.
Also at first I thought thought the fluidity of the water whenever he shifts form was just alright, but it actually looks incredible when contrasting with all the super detailed stuff cause it just makes all of it feel more above the laws of reality, which is perfect for the gods.

Other animatics make Poseidon very powerful looking or demonic to show how he's a god, but your version is just soo beautiful i absolutely love how he looks, it shows how beautiful a divine being is meant to look.
