How To Easily Assemble Husky Shelving

- This is how to put together a simple shelving system from Husky that can be found at Home Depot. It's strong and holds a lot of weight. It's easy to install with minimal tools and effort! I use it in my basement but could work easily for garage or anywhere you need the shelfs to save some space.

Bought one today from Home Depot here in Canada. Massive upgrade from my resin shelves. You could even use this for bunk beds lol
Thank you for doing this video! Definitely helped me prepare and understand the assembly.
Thank you so much for the step by step instructions. I just installed mine without any problems following your every step. Thank you!
Glad I could help enjoy!

Glad I Could Help!
I'm about to purchase this for my hangar. Needed to know if tools were required. Looks like a rubber mallet.
Thanks for posting...
Yeah and that’s just do you don’t dent and scratch your rack but it’s not required
como armar el anaquel husky de homedepot
very easy to understand to follow thank you well done editing
Thank you 👍
nice job
Thanks!
Mine came without instructions as well as those place pieces. Thanks for this video, if not I would be confused about that 12 small metal pieces. I will have to use something instead of those plastic locks
I'll drop a sub to get you to that 1k threshold
Glad I could Help!
Mine came without those pieces too. How is yours holding up without them?
Thanks
You bet!
@@BONES714 I bought one yesterday; very happy with it.
@@Solo-Road heck yeah its a great table that will last for many years to come
Great video! Thanks! My cross bars aren't all enough tall enough to reach the slots AND have the top rest on the shelf (about 1/4" short). They must have bent them too shallow. Wonder if anyone else has this defect?
No because that tab goes underneath, not over. There is a little infographic on the Husky instructions that says specifically NOT to do that.
Can you tell me what the measurement is between to end posts?
(width on shelf for totes)
Which length is the one you have? I am trying to see if the 77 in is enough?
Does it matter which direction the smooth side of the shelf support beams face? You can install them in either direction. My initial thought was to have the smooth side pointed outwards on the ends of the rack so that it looked better but no idea what to do with the middle one. Thanks
I think there is only one way to put it together but you could try it and see how it works and if it doesn't you can't go back to the orginal
Are these the 90-inch long five tier ones? It's hard to me to tell. I'm wondering if you can set those up to put six tiers (with one on the ground) of those HDX bins on them.
The measurements for mine are 77 in W x 78 in H x 24 in D
I searched high and low for a video disassembling this storage unit and not a single one. In your opinion, what’s the best way?
Follow my tutorial backwards!
🤙
Awesome job…I’m going to attempt to assemble these without my husband 👀😂 My question is how long did this take to assemble? And is the 90hight 78W and 24D?
It depends how many times you have to stop, go to the kitchen, tell everyone who will listen how easy it is to do. Lol. His is 78x 24 x 77, I think. It is on his box, first frame.
Hi thanks for the video. Question... The tie channels... Do they go completely inside of the rack? It seems to sit very loose if the lip is inside but the top part is above... They are very loose like that
Yeah they are not super rigid in there. There is some room for play. It felt kind of weird like they should've been tighter and locked into place but they don't. No need to worry though I've been using mine for months and its been just fine
@@BONES714 cool. Thanks. I may just get some bolts and lock them in place
Good to know.. Im bringing bolts & nuts just to be on the safe side.
This is the question I came here to find the answer to. The instructions clearly show the interior shelf supports on the inside of the bracket, but I’m having a hell of a time fitting them in without damaging the supports
They wouldn't even stand up straight for me. Not sure why it works so well for you
I'd maybe reach back out to Home Depot to see if you may have a defective one.
Are those little rivets removable? Easily? some have said use zip ties instead
Yeah they are glad I could help!
Did yours come with 24 shelf cross supports? Mine did and it threw me off. Just a packaging error?
You should only have 12 cross bars. If it came with more it was most likely a packing error. Better to have more than not enough though I suppose!
Mine both had 24 cross supports each and that’s why I searched for this video lol.
@@geoffreyvogel1650 yes same here. I felt so lost trying to figure out why I had so many. I spent like an hour trying to think of ways they could maybe go together.
What about the wire clips that hold the wire racks into place?
Im not sure I know exactly what your talking about I didn't have any clips that I recall
@@BONES714 ahhh i have the 5 shelf unit it takes these stupid wire clips. I just screwed quater by quarter angle in middle of each shelf. My wires were falling out. Dont buy the cheaper 5 shelf unit. Pita.
Zip Ties
How high is the lowest shelving rack from the bottom? and how Tall are each shelving rack? I'm trying to calculate how much space is "lost" and how much space I actually have to work with. I think the notches are spaced out 3 inches correct?
I'm not sure on the exact measurements. The bottom shelf sits about an inch off the floor. You can also leave the shelf off too
Does it matter which way the wire shelf is facing?
No so much whatever works better for you!
Can wheels be placed underneath
yes it comes with casters or stationary feet what ever you prefer
The middle supports seems very flimsy and loose no matter what I do
Would plywood be better than the wire?
depends on your needs the wire is very strong
Never understood why most everyone puts the bottom shelf on so close to the floor. The floor acts like a shelf itself.
To get off the floor to keep away from spills and mice etc
Middle bars doesn't line up with the holes
SMH... mine (the red version) came in with odd angles on the sides for the 6 piece horizontal metals (at least 2 of them was done right)... had to pry them out about 5mm outwards! and 2 of them don't have the holes where you slip-in the support beams for the metal mesh... what a disappointment Husky!
So you said rest the one side and put the other side in. Its got one slit on each side, so you put both sides in the slots.
If I’m understanding it correctly then yes.
I bought this at Lowes last week, no Instructions, everything in little boxes, I. Worried, good video, but it could have been louder sound and slower beginning, thanks anyway
doing the best I can with what I got!
