From what I know, Rito aren't able to carry very heavy objects into the air with them, they wouldn't be able to fly. This is the reason their primary weapon of choice is a bow which is very light. So a shield of fabric makes sense, since it would be easy to hold. And even if it's not very effective as a shield, it's better than having nothing at all.
I love how the collector’s anxiety line were his first words on RUclips.

Well look no further, the least qualified person for the job is ready to tell you all of the items that you should hold onto in Breath of The Wild because you won't be able to get them again once you use them up. That, and give the subscribe button a look if you want to be notified of when another one of these videos come out. Alright, let's get right into it and I'll attempt to make it short and sweet.
Every item lying around in the open world will respawn no matter what when a blood moon rises. It's basically a complete world reset. However, items in treasure chests can only be obtained once. It's also the same with quest rewards. Once you've completed that task, you can't complete it again.
Starting off, we have the Forest Dweller's Sword. it's found in a chest near Mido Swamp, a chest near the Hyrule Garrison Ruins, and a chest under the bridge near Lake Floria. It's also given as a quest reward for completing the Test of Wood in the Korok Forest. It's important to note, however, that while the Test of Wood does give you the Forest Dweller's Sword the first time, each subsequent visit after that, you have to return it after the trial's done.
The Kite Shield is to the Rito warriors as the Forest Dweller's Sword is to the Koroks. The shield can only be obtained in a chest after beating Bokoblins in the North Tabantha Snow Field, in another chest found near Hebra Plunge, it's also found if you manage to get the worst time in Selmi's shield surfing, and if you're anything similar to a pro gamer like me, this objective should be no problem to get. Easy.
Speaking of pro gamer skills, I stream at twitch.tv/PointCrow. If you don't watch the stream, look at all the spicy content you're missing: *It's The Legend of Zelda, and it's really rad, those creatures from Ganon are pretty bad, Octorocks, Tectites, Leapers too, but with your help our hero pulls through.*
Moving on...
There are four more items on this list that are special mentions. I'll call these "miss-able items", since they're moderately obtainable until you complete a certain threshold in the game, all depending on how you play. These include: the regular Lynel Spear, The Regular Lynel Crusher, the Mighty Lynel Spear, and the Mighty Lynel Crusher. As some of you may know, the enemies in Breath of The Wild get harder and level up the more you play. Red Bokoblins become blue, blue Lizalfos become black, et cetera. The same thing happens with Lynels. Except you can't pick up Lynel weapons in the open world, hence why they can't respawn, you can only get a Lynel weapon from killing a Lynel. Once these Lynels are fully upgraded, as in a white Lynel or a gold Lynel, you lose the ability to get these weapons forever.
Enemy scaling is a completely different video, and I won't get into how it happens and the thresholds needed to reach for each enemy to level up, but for the sake of this video, the more you kill, the more likely you'll level up mobs, and the less likely you'll be to get these four weapons. It should be noted that while the Lynel weapons are miss-able, there is a workaround.
There will always be a red Lynel on top of a mountain in the Zora's Domain, and a blue Lynel in the first gatehouse in Hyrule Castle. When killed these do not drop their weapons, and they're purely here for the Hyrule Compendium, however, with a small exploit they actually will drop their weapons. It works simply:
-start the fight
-engage it
-and then almost immediately afterwards, save and reload
This resets the Lynel's position, and you should get your parts.
That's it! That's everything you need to know about the items you need to keep before they go extinct. A word of advice, if you are looking to keep these, buy the house in hateno village and additional weapon stands before you go looking for these items. Then place them on the weapon stands.

I just got the Kite Shield in TOTK and immediately thought of this video and I think the entire LoZ community needs a Collector's Anxiety Part Two for TOTK. Explore in the Hebra Mountains at the top of the map. Thats where i got mine. Im not sure if it was on the ground, in a shrine or equipped by an enemy. Hope this helps!

Small note, the red lynel does drop its weapons when defeated, I know this because I visit often just because it's the only location that a red lynel still spawns for me (every lynel is silver now on normal mode).
and I never realized that blue lynels don't spawn anymore either, and I've never collected the mighty lynel weapons since I've had the game

The forest dweller’s sword is also in a chest in a shrine, but I forget which one. It was in the shrine where you had to use a power attack to spin around and light all of the torches in a circle-the sword is there so players won’t get stuck if they don’t have any wooden weapons.

I hoard everything in the game and use as little as possible. I was watching my friend play and couldn't believe she wasn't picking up everything in sight. I pick up everything, hardly eat anything, and use bombs and runes for as much combat as possible (but that's also because I'm a wimp and prefer to fight from a distance and hidden if possible). Yeah. Though I've gotten better since I've got all the armour upgraded and have good weapons and lots of hearts and Mipha's Grace. But I haven't played in a while so I would still start with the bombs again for a while.
You must love the fact bombs+ only costs 3 screws.
It’s a bad habit, hard to enjoy the game when you are afraid of breaking weapons
Wow this sounds like a nightmare. Pro tip the game provides more than enough tools for you to use if you pick up enemy weapons after you defeat them. If you stop being afraid of combat and beat lots of creatures, the game will start to provide better loot and if you upgrade your weapon slots it’s incredibly hard to run low on high tier stuff
@@maximusthedude8305 The problem is their major problem becomes more apparent when you can hold more and more good weapons. Why fight something for bad weapons, that offers no reward?
Aside from Shrines and Blights there are very very few times you ever benefit from fighting as you never get anything permeant.
Even then, the things you would fight would be the Tests of Strength every blood moon, and Guardians. By doing this you get Ancient Armor which is tied in High Defense but also improves Guardian Scout and Ancient Weapons by 80%
...while if you fight common enemies you mostly get middle tier armor that doesn't have many, if any, useful benefits. The next closest is the armor gotten via the 3 mazes... which requires you to fight Lyonals. The auto tier 3 attack buff saves on durability, kills things quicker, but has bad defense.
The other armor, Sheika, is gotten via mostly materials found in the wild. This not only lets you get in better positions for fights easier, but also lets you easily get behind an enemy, mid sneak attack switch armor, and hit them for either 30% damage with any weapon or 80% with specifics.
The game is poorly designed, which is why people hoard things.
If you actually GAINED something for breaking weapons in combat people would fight.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 Clearly you are very much into maximising damage and efficiency and grinding for the best armours. The thing is, this just isn’t that kind of game. Botw is just not built with that in mind, and if you judge it on that than you’re right, it’s not well balanced. I don’t kill enemies for reward though, I do it for fun. I don’t care that much if I waste a decent weapon on a camp of red bokos, as long as I enjoyed it. Botw is not a game about becoming stronger, it’s a game about exploring, and you just become stronger naturally along the way. If you don’t enjoy that, then maybe botw isn’t the game you’re looking for, and you should search for games with heavier rpg elements.

Moving on, there are 4 more aitems on this list that are special mentions. I'll call these "Missable items" Since theyre moderatelly obtainable until you complete a certain threshold in the game. All depending on how you play. These include the Regular Lynel Spear. The regular Lynel Crusher. The Mighty Lynel Spead and the Mighty Lynel Crusher. As some of you may know, the enemies in Breath of The Wild get harder and level up the more you play. Red Bokoblins become blue. Blue Lizalfos become black, etc. Same thing happens with Lynels, except you can't pick up Lynel weapons in the open world, heads why they can't respawn. You can only get a Lynel Weapon from killing a Lynel. Once these Lynels are fully upgraded, as in a white Lynel or a Gold Lynel, you lose the ability to get these weapons forever. Enemy scaling is a completelly different video and I won't get into how it happens in the thresholds need to reach for each enemy to level up, but for the sake of this video. The more you kill, the more likely you'll level up mobs and the less likely you'll be able to get these 4 weapons. It should be noted that while the Lynel Weapons are missable, there is a workaround. There will always be a Red Lynel on top of a mountain in the Zora's Domain. And a Blue Lynel in the first Gatehouse in Hyrule Castle. When kill these do not drop their weapons and they're purely here for the Hyrule Compendium. However, with a small exploit they actually will drop their weapons. It works simply. Start the fight, engage it and then almost inmediatelly afterwards save and reload. This resets the Lynel's position and you should get your parts.
