    I just tried that guided airflow tip on my SG13. It really works! Got my idle temps from 65+ to 50+. Thank you so much!

    Just want to say thank you for this. Dropped my temps significantly using the tape method plug moving the SSD mount.

    My current thermal solution:
    -Undervolting my CPU (Ryzen 5600 non X) to 1.2v
    -CPU cooler with the fan facing upwards (Noctua NH L12)
    -PSU fan facing downwards as exhaust (I am using Seasonic Focus Gold 650 ATX)
    -High static front fan as Intake (Scythe Wonder Snail, Thermaltake Toughfan 12, etc)
    -And another slim fan on the right side for more intake.
    for the fan on the right side, I am using a very slim Scythe Slip Stream 120mm with 12mm thickness.
    The temps are running decent with 42c during idle, and 73c during stress test.
    Note:
    -Make sure your PSU is a good one since that is your main exhaust. Find a brand you trust, preferably comes with a long warranty.
    -Mounting the side fan is a bit tricky I just used a foam tape to secure it in place. My ATX PSU and Motherboard's Ram slot is very close to the side and was conflicting with the fan, but grinding a little bit of the fan's frame worked. Might be better if you use an SFX PSU, but I don't know how well the small PSU will hold those heat.

      Very interesting setup with the inverted fan. With a 5600X you could go with a sfx psu as well?

    The biggest difference I made was by reversing the front fan's airflow. Since most of the components are at the back, they get the fresh passive intake air. You can feel the difference on the case exterior after doing this, the front half is warm instead of the back.

    • @PremiumReview
      @PremiumReview Год назад

      so you have the air being sucked from the case and being pushed out the front ?

    For PSU fan orientation. I actually have different reasons for it. If I am using an AIO in the SG13. I position the PSU fan down to act as an exhaust.
    For air cooling it's better to have it faced up for obvious reasons.
    Great video and build overall though!

    • @panoramacircle3281
      @panoramacircle3281  3 года назад +1

      Yes you can use downward position PSU when combined with an AIO. I would still go upward if you have a weaker (not gold) PSU because they themself can get quite hot and need cold air intake.

    Pretty much the case is alcusterfuc of a mess.
    it is a very old design, like 15 years and it shows.
    The core concept to have the itx mobo laying on it's back is great because you can have the gpu vertically and thus no sagging risk.
    But the rest of the case is a steaming pile of brown.

  • @thewalkingrob8840

    I got this case coming in the mail. I am trying to wrap my head around the build. It won't have a gpu so hopefully that helps with heat but I will be using a small but ATX size power supply. I had an easier case in the way but it got lost. Do you think I can get away with a wraith stealth cooler if I have a good front exhaust setup and seal the gaps?

    • @panoramacircle3281
      @panoramacircle3281  Год назад

      ATX PSU in that case is asking for trouble. Only way would be a water cooled CPU or flipping the CPU fan around (pulling) so it will blow directly into the ATX PSU (also not great).

  • @PremiumReview
    @PremiumReview Год назад

    can you give me some advice. I am going to be building in this case with a semi modular small but regular size atx psu. I am going to be using an apu and nvme so it should be pretty open inside. do you think i can use a stock amd stealth cooler and just add a case fan up front to suck air in?

    i''m using jonsbo hp-400 and artic p12 12omm for intake and on side im using 92mm fan from id-cooling for exhaust and i get max temperatur 78C. it's normal?

    • @panoramacircle3281

      78°C max seems fine to me assuming you have a 65W CPU and the tiny jonsbo cooler. Undervolting will help a bit here.

      @@panoramacircle3281 Sorry for joining late. Yeah, if you configure the front fan as an intake fan, you should consider to use the PSU cooler fan facing down so it can act as an exhaust fan by taking hot air trapped inside the case outwards.
