I love how to this day, the Microwave stays relevant 🙏🙏🙏🙏 SMOL & STWONG
I love my microwave.
it does look exactly like a microwave
@@maaingan it is actually smaller than a microwave
I always feel uneasy when you have to fiddle with a small case to get all the cables and components in, but it's so satisfying when the build is complete.
The 5600x is a game changer for sff. 65 watt part and doesnt draw more than like 77 watts if u stress every thread in cinebench. Being able to run a chip that will draw 40-60 watts while gaming that delivers comparable frames to a 10900k is really revolutionary
@@EvilTurkeySlices me with a 1650 super...
@@EvilTurkeySlices Vega does really well at cracking.
I just build a PC with it and I am super happy with it as upgrade from i7 6700K. I still don't get why Intel needs so much more power for the same performance...shitty 14nm+++++
@@fynnstechkanal because its 14nm the transistors are further apart. Its less efficient because electrons have to travel a further distance. There are other optimizations too, but thats a huge reason why node shrinks increase perf per watt
I managed to snag one during the supply shortages toward the end of last year. I had to pretty much check the stock from my retailer on a daily basis for a couple of months, when they got some in they'd sell out very fast! But I managed to get one at RRP!
Yep, the 5600x is a fantastic CPU for gaming. A processor in AMD's *budget* range competing (at the time I got it) among Intel's high-mid to top range... It's amazing.
"I am stupid" inserts Leclerc fail lol I appreciated seeing that from another F1 enthusiast. Redbull 2021!!!!

Hint: Put a small thin fan blowing out on the top of the case over the gpu, it makes a huge difference on case temps when the GPU is active.
Can attest to this with my SG05. The 70mm fan holes even match with the case rail holes for mounting. I also put a switch on mine so I can turn it off when I want silence.
Are there fan mounts on the top of SG13 to install a fan?
@@j00ktau No, you have to use the vent holes as a way to mount the fan.
Used two noctua 40mm 5000rmp fans above the gpu, used the included rubber tie downs to secure. Also mounted a 140mm noctua 3000rpm fan to the front. Keeps a ryzen 5 2600 + rtx 2060 at 30c+ at idle and 60c+ at load. Have smart rgb on it and it's supposed to go red when it goes over 70c ,and havent seen it yet.
I used to subscribe way back in the day... But then my life falls apart and lose all my interest in pc and tech... So then...Now i am back alive again mate. Nice to see you again. You are still alive and well.
The Best Microwave on the market
I love cases that don't look like a PC. This would look amazing sitting on the TV stand in a living room.
Okay. For those needing them.
Tips for building in the SG13 from someone who's done it about 8 times.
1. Use an SFX PSU. Silverstone sells an adaptor bracket.
2. That's it.
The additional cooler height clearance and front fan spacing makes it easy to use any cooler you'd wish. (Within reason.) And this is also the primary method of fitting an AIO in the system.
Edit.
Tip 2. Thicker cards and graphics cards in general, are intended to be slid in from the front. Not placed in the case at an angle. You can fit larger cards than the ones used in this video in this case. You just have to know how.
@J-Cire Yeah, I've looked at that case before. Not too much larger than the 13 but it has a lot more room to build. Probably the best option for modern parts. GPUs are becoming quite large.
Wait so you can actually fit an XT card inside of the case?
The SG13 was my first PLEX NAS build, love that thing. I switched to the Node 304 for the extra storage capacity.
14:56 silverstone knows their components
*sends a psu that dosen't fit in their own case*
Hahah it was a goof. The rep was cool and overnighted the adapter he forgot - but I ended up just using the Corsair one so that I didn't need to wait.
@@GregSalazar so instead of the PSU it is the case that comes with an adapter? So weird 😅
It did fit tho?
it can fit tho only u use 2 screws. have a sf450 on my microwave and is mounted on its top 2 screws (i use the tall noctua "low profile" cooler, not l9a so it supports the bend of the psu)
@@Schlossice 9 months late, but a correction: There's actually a plate that you screw the power supply into that makes it fit into an ATX power supply's mounting holes. So the PSU was correct, but it didn't come with the plate that made it fit the hole in the case
I had an SG13 years ago and sold it because I wanted to upgrade to another mini ITX case. Now a few years later I’m ready to change back. Luke from LTT put it best when he said it’s more of a frame instead of a case
I actually enjoyed watching you building this PC, running into the problems with the card and the power supply and figuring those problems out more than I enjoy watching someone build a PC without having any issues.
SG13 is a great case. Building in it can be a challenge but with proper parts selection it can turn out to be a masterpiece.
I went from a SG13 to a A4-H2O. I have to say it is a big upgrade, but the SG13 is still a fun case.
The SG13 is what I have my current build in, AND it was my very first build! What I really love about it is the fact you can put in a full length GPU!
Gotta love those small cases 😍 I have a huge tower and I wish I had built a small form factor build from the beginning.
This one was - honestly - super fun to build in.
the tu-100 is cool too imo
I did my first build in a Lian Li PC-O11D because I fell in love with the design when it first came out, and really wish I had done the mini version instead. Don't get me wrong, the O-11 is a beautiful case, but its huge and heavy, and 9 fans is a shitload. You know how much 9 Corsair LL or QL fans cost? Like $300+!Really wish I had done the mini version for multiple reasons now, but there's always next time. I guarantee the 2nd build i do will be much smaller and lighter.
I used a 140mm fan in front and the noctura low profile cpu cooler. I also used a sff650 from corsair
That Charles Leclerc clip never gets old
Don't get me wrong. I still love my SG13 but I had to go through a few iterations before I could get the temps under control. Had to remove the low profile Scythe cooler in favor of a 120mm AIO from Coolermaster and def swapped out my PSU for a SFX PSU. Just no room for anything once you start filling it with SATA drives. Still runs today with a 2400G, RX570, 16GB of DDR4 ram on an Asus B450 mini itx board. Glad to see others still using this oldie but goodie case!
I love how he’s like, “I’m in the same boat as you guys, I haven’t been getting free cards recently”😂 Man is down bad
And Silverstone are low key cheap for not adding the adapters, but Corsair is more reputable anyway
I love this. I have local content in my own back yard (Orlando) with you. I love building PCs, and these videos are great!
All we need now is a Microcenter and we're set!
I'm glad you kept the mistakes in the video. Got to learn a lot about building in this case.
I have the smaller older version of it called the SG05.
- It has a 120mm AIO in Push-Pull with Arctic P12 fans.
-The SFX PSU is mounted where the fans is pointing up.
- It has two 3.5" HDDs. One is mounted on the radiator and one between the PSU and GPU. I'm planning to modify the top rails so they are both on top side-by-side.
- It has two SATA SSDs. Both are mounted beside the radiator on the right, away from the GPU exhaust.
- It has a 70mm (or 60?) fan on the GPU extracting air out of the GPU and away from the HDD beside it. It has a switch in front so I put it on off during light load for ultimate silence.
- I used to have a fan on the side by the PSU/CPU extracting air. But I realized that the mosfets kept overheating so I mounted an old Stock LGA775 fan only on my waterblock to push air thru the VRMs. Just like the GPU fan, it has a switch in front so I can keep it off for ultimate silence when watching movies or doing light tasks.
Future plans: Modify the top rail to accept two 3.5in HDDs. I might be able to modify the back case just below the PSU to mount some 40mm fans or laptop slim fans to help extract air from the board. I dont think its needed though. Once I get both HDDs on top I can just use the vacated space behind the GPU to create a vent for an exhaust fan.
I just did a build with this case the other day. I used a full atx psu, RX 6600 and the same Noctua Cooler. The stock AMD stealth would fit but it was just only 2 cm from the psu so I swapped it out. I was also able to fit my old-ish HGST 3gb 3.5 hard drive beneath that bracket that hangs across the top front of the case.
You can get an sfx pay in there without the adapter. At the top left of the PSU hole there is a little tab like an inch in from the corner, the top left screw hole on the sfx PSU will line up with that whilst the top right screw hole will line up with the cases regular top right screw hole. Won't be pretty, but it'll hold.
I'd rather just use an adapter LOL. Something that sketchy shouldn't be acceptable.
I used to have my system on a SG13. I had to cut up the upper lip on the inside of the case on the side of the GPU so that I could install a Sapphire Pulse 5700xt as it was too wide and tall to fit in there. I also had a SFX-L PSU and a Corsair H60 as well. As for airflow I also added a 92mm fan on the other side of the case using zip ties so my components received fresh air from the side. It was a tight fit but my Ryzen 2700x idled at 60C and topped at 80C when gaming. Being my first build I struggled for a bit while assembling it, but it was a lot of fun!
Oh! and forgot to mention I also had a HDD on the bracket that comes with the case inside as well so there's that.
I built a compact computer for my sister last year using some spare parts, had to remove the plastic shroud off my MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X I was putting in the build XD. That was quite a surprise for me, but at least I was able to make it work.
Been looking to transplant from my Cougar QBX to something smaller and was eyeing the SG13. Glad you made the most recent build on it
Nice build on that greg and lucky bro you have, upgrading his build without requesting it.
Haha nice Charles Leclerc baku i am stupid snipped. More F1 Greg. :)
Great build. Love to see a powerful computer in a small form factor.
I'm a simple man. I see ITX build video, I hit like.
I love this case, built one 2 years ago managed to fit a 2070 and an i78700k with a 140mm aio in front
Your Silverstone PSU issue is why I went Corsair SF750 - They include an ATX bracket in the box. This is a neat case though, and a great build. Nice job!
Built a system for a coworker last year using this case and it was one of the best builds I ever did. I was able to use all BeQuiet and AMD components with a 140mm fan in the front. Use the top rails for cable management and there is enough space in the front grill to sneak in a 200mm RGB strip.
...I did a verry similar build several years back in a silverstone SG05 using an corsair H80i, Gtx 670 and an asrock z97 itx ....was my first itx build.
Man, now I want to put my stuff on an ITX case, but living in a tropical country with no airconditioned room would be a hell for it.
I like that case. I have built in four of them. I usually use the EVGA 1060-1070 gpu's. Stock amd cpu coolers have worked fine for this case.
What is the 140mm front fan Noctua model? Should I look for any pwm type fan? Thanks.
I have a SG13B laying around. Use to have a 3600X and GTX 1070 FTW2 in it. Those now live in a Cooler Master NR200P. Better cooling in the new case and it looks fantastic.
Love your videos i watched them for hours while I waited for my pc parts to ship
Wow! I really appreciate it! Hope to keep you entertained in the future :-D
Didn't expect to see an F1 reference here, but I'm happy to!
I like how you are doing the adjustment while you are building, great rig and video Greg
It's easy when you have a whole shelf of PC parts though. Not a luxury us mortals have. We have to plan, and think about everything in advance and can't just "wing it".
You can get 4k 120 from the 2080 super ( I did from a 2070 super) just not with HDR enabled. Edit: Using LG OLED BX 2020 model.
That Charles Leclerc reference was spot on
Loved this build, particularly enjoyed the Charles Leclerc I am stupid reference
There was definitely room for the aio
The SG13 series actually has mounting holes for SFX power supplies, but they only allow you to use two screws on the top or bottom of the power supply. It also leaves a big hole in the back which isn't very aesthetically pleasing.
Used this case to build my dad's office PC! He loves it to death :)
The SG13 was the first case I ever built my first custom build pc in. I can say hand on heart that an aio will fit even with a full size PSU. That was with a full size GPU and using the hard drive plate. It was a tight squeeze but it is possible. You just need to believe. Still though it's a great little case and switching to an SFX PSU was the best decision I ever made with this case.
I love Silverstone. I have a PSU with more than 10 years of use of 750Watts still working in my son's PC. A pity that in Brazil its distribution is rare and expensive. Like Noctua, a cooler like this costs 1 month of basic salary here.
What a twist! Very clean build for such a small case
If you use an ATX psu it can sct as an exhaust for the processor if flipped, also handy...
I had to use a large PSU sucks but it works I actually ran my front fan backwards because there's a lot of heat pooling in the back around the CPU vent. It seems to work better overall running the fan as an exhaust.
I've built in this case. Was very difficult with my big hands but do able.
Yeah, depending on the hardware and order of operations, some things can be a bit difficult to reach. But very satisfying once completed!
@@GregSalazar most definitely once completed was satisfying. I went with the aio versus air cooler but I didn't use some beefy hardware either.
Try doing a cooler master rc-130 with a non modular power supply, ssd and a hdd.
Arctic freezer ml 120 is not only an aio, it has an active VRM cooling fan built in
Fantastic, i was seeing this case from so much time, finally someone good as you have reviewed it :D
i am glad to see i am not the only one who say ooops and has to wait and try again
Never noticed the signed Breaking Benjamin record on the wall. One of my favorite bands!
I had been using this case with the full size 2060 and aio and everything, totally fits, but kind of a little tricky to place it all in the right order. Temps were about 60c max but I ended up finding a nice Dan A4 clone that is almost half the size, still using the full size 2060. These cases are by far the best for the money and still having aio support.
I have this same case and have been using a low profile fan and have run into heating issues. What aio are you using?
@@TheNDex I was using a small 140mm Thermaltake aio from best buy I think it was pretty cheap and worked amazing
Man that thing looks slick, makes me super jealous looking over at my nearly 8 year old system lmao
That charles leclerc reference tho 🤣 fellow PC and F1 enthusiasts laughed on that one!
My first itx case 🍻
im using this case currently. You should do push pull 120 rads for even greater temps. and yes psu face down. But my setup is even crazier..i put 2 60mm fans on top of my gpu blowing air out through the vents above. and I put another exhaust 80mm fan on right vents beside PSU. Stonks temps
I've been running an i7-4770 with AIO and Zotac GTX 1080 Mini and EVGA 500W power supply in the non-usb-C SG-13B case since 2016. The AIO is a coolermaster 120 with a push/pull fan configuration. It's my daily driver/gaming "toaster".
I did get an AIO in that case. :) need a lot of lego skill
If that's your actual entertainment center in the picture, pull your center channel forward! The waveguide is reflecting off the cabinet when being receded in the back.
Happy to see your giving some love to the itx builds Ive moved on to itx only for my main buiilds I like to see how power I can cram into a itx case
I absolutely love Silverstone cases, I have the RV01 RV02 GDO09. Fantastic cases. Lian Li Be Quiet and Silverstone are my go to case manufacturers.
I do appreciate how you keep honest even with a sponsor. Not impressed with Silverstone here. Props to you not covering for them.
Can you do more SFF builds in the future please? They are really overlooked, smole and powerful!
Almost identical to my own build. I bought the Silverstone adapter for the SFF PSU - it has a little more ventilation. I did find that the Noctua low profile cooler did not really provide enough cooling though (CPU temps over 55 degrees C under idle load with a ASRock X570 Mobo). I had to use the Silverstone AIO. I can assure that that it fits. Just.
My "gotcha" during the build (and there always is one) was that the ASRock X570 mobo uses the Intel cooler spacing rather than AMD. Had to buy the Noctua low profile cooler for Intel chips, then swap it out to the Silverstone AIO when I found that the cooling was inadequate. I'd be interested to see what temperatures you get. Mine were way too high.
your tv setup its better than my gaming one :D
My recent main build uses the Sugo 15, much the same as the above but support for 240mm AIO and 3 slot GPUs. I have the 6900XT Red Devil and it 'just' fits. Great video, ITX is awesome.
Still use my Ryzen 3600 build in a Silverstone SG13-- works great 3 years on. Had a EVGA 550 G3 in there for a year. A full sized modular WILL work, but ohh boy it kills your airflow. Pair that with the standard cpu fan and it's a hot box. Installed a Fractal ION SFX 500G ps and a Corsair H60 AIO and never looked back.
Should have mentioned that I used the same Noctua AM4 cooler right before the AIO option-- works, but heat was still crazy.
That 2080 super is a beautiful card
After upgrading to my current PC last year, as kind of a fun project, I re-cased my old i7-4790k and GTX 1070 FE with this case, since it was originally on an ITX motherboard in a mATX case, and I used a full sized ATX PSU, and had a SATA SSD since NVME wasn't a thing yet on that old of a system. Definitely had to figure out the best way to put everything in since the ATX PSU takes up SO MUCH space, and cable management was a challenge. I threw on the stock Intel cooler to fit since I wasn't trying to spend any more money than I had to, but I also added a front intake fan to at least help what little airflow there is in this case.
I was able to sell it to my cousin, so it has a happy home now. That beast of a CPU is definitely thermal throttling with that anemic cooler, but, they're not going to notice, hopefully, and day-to-day performance was still pretty good for Microsoft Word and Facebook, and will be much better that any laptop they were planning to buy to play games like Fortnite, especially at the price point they were looking for. Of course, now I get called if the printer won't connect, but you know how that goes...
the reason HDMI is still very popular I think is because its easy it also carries audio signal, I don't know if display port does yet, but the common layman or woman, doesn't have a fancy setup like most of us do, so HDMI is very standard because its easy and convenient.
Silverstone: This PSU and Case will work just fine.
Also Silverstone: We don't plan on including a bracket, why would we??
I own the same case & AIO. Believe me the tube on the AIO is too stiff and not meant to be used with SG13. The only way I managed to get it into it in the end is to have the tubing on the non-GPU side of the case + bending it in an S form with the help of cable ties. It works but I'm not happy.
To make my new ASUS Dual RX 6600 XT fit, I cut two short notches in the frame, and then used pliers to bend the frame flat where it had been 90 degrees. And I didn't put the cover back on so airflow is no issue. Dust will be, of course.
This will be my first build, and you said the thermal paste was "messy", how do you know you have enough paste applied please? Great quality video
You always land on your feet, Greg. Nice work, bud.
It's not really recommended to use one cable for both power inputs of the GPU, because that's a lot of watts going through the single cable, especially for a GPU that power-hungry. I think a second PCIe power cable could have fit just fine there.
Came here to say this lol. Definitely should have used a second PCIe cable.
I'm surprised to see Silverstone here because many tech youtubers don't really cover their products.
Not many youtubers want to build a plain black box with zero rgb appeal and a long list of limiting requirements to get components to work inside said box. Its nice for sff enthusiasts, but thats a very small subset of the diy pc world.
Most High-Profile Tech RUclipsrs out there are covering the premium boutique stuff when it comes to ITX... And then complain about the stagnating ITX market (looking at Hardware Canucks).
Silverstone fails to have impressive stuff anyway; since Corsair launched their SF series PSUs, no other brand was able to match them in performance and quality.
love the vids man, im new to pc builds and still learning but watching a lot of your pc builds most def helped a ton on understanding what you should be looking for in a gaming pc. prolly not gonna read this but just wanna send some love your way brother ✊🏿
I am using the dual USB 3.0 version of this case.
My setup
CPU: 5600x
GPU: Zotac 3060 ti
120mm AIO for Cooling
PSU: Antec HCG GOLD 750W (Fully-Modular ATX PSU)
In my usage over the past 6 months, temps haven't gone above 75C on both CPU and GPU.
Really enjoyed this build. 4 GPU changes into it, the 6800 comes out. I’m interested to see how it does on the OLED. It should do very well. I have an AIB 6800 and can play some rather demanding titles at 120-140 FPS @1440p paired with just a 3600. I’ll be looking forward to the upcoming video.
You should have interlaced the "Damn he thicc!" meme when you realized why the 6900xt wasn't fitting into the case.
got this one in black & white...👌👌👌
Looking forward to your living room gaming setup.
with the Corsair SF power Supplies only certain models include the mounting adaptor. eg
The SF600 80+Gold does not include one
The SF600 80+Platininum does include one
NB that is in the UK
you make it look so easy
Reminds me of the Dan cases, have worked in those and always needed to be specific with hardware. Rear-blowing cards are a pretty big must in these small cases, big temp difference from what I have found.
i think you just became my new favorite PC building RUclips with that breaking Benjamin record that's signed behind you
I’d love to know how the Noctua cooler compared to the wraith. I’m sure it beats it in most regards but I just like to know by how much
Very entertaining videos. Love the look of that Noctua CPU cooler and the fit on the two GPUs was oddly satisfying to me.
cool and good. I built mine and my brother's pc with this case
It's a great case!
@@GregSalazar Yes indeed. Also i found this pcpartpicker build where someone managed to fit the rx 6800 xt into this case but it was quite difficult. Additionally, they installed the same silverstone 120mm aio. For my brothers pc, the corsair h60 aio (2018 model) fits with no issues. pcpartpicker.com/b/3brV3C
Hi there, I know this video is super old but this build inspired me & its exactly what I want to build for my gaming pc. Only thing I cant figure put is which Noctua fan did you use in the front? 120mm or 140mm & which one exactly of either size as the website has many & I cant figure out which. Thanks.
you could've put an 80mm or 92mm slim exhaust fan on the right side of the case to utilize the vents
