Creator Insider is an informal RUclips channel to share information from the RUclips Creator technical team with the wider Creator community. We will feature different people talking about the products they work on and changes we are making so you have more context.
How about just sending our videos out to our (already) subscribers.
By default, RUclips sends notifications out to subscribers based on interests. It doesn't prompt you to change this so many don't. Because of that, if what you upload doesn't match what the system thinks is something they are interested in- the alert won't go out to them unless they opt to be notified of all uploads. Even then there is a max cap of 3 notifications a day per creator. So they already do that just not in a way that is helpful to creators, it's more helpful to viewers.

I tell my viewers to keep checking the subscriptions tab if they want to see what they actually want to watch. In mid 2023 my views dropped drastically and still haven't recovered. I film events where I run into viewers pretty much constantly. They tell me they're subscribed, but they never get recommended my videos anymore.
@MikeFrankovich 100%. We should have to keep reminding them to check our page. We already convinced them to su subscribe, but they still make us and our viewers jump through hoops. Unless you talk politics or your name starts with Mr. Beast, the views are down for all of us
When I visit RUclips (as a viewer) I immediately go to the Subscriptions tab. I want to watch what I want to watch, not what RUclips wants me to watch. I recommend we tell our subscribers to do the same.
1. What is RUclips doing to curb repeat offenders making erroneous copyright claims on music?
2. Why not allow one mid-roll advertising slot on videos between 5-8 minutes long?
3. How about letting creators put a video in two content categories simultaneously, like "Education" and "Science and Technology", for example?
I have been sitting on dubbed audio tracks for ALL of my videos, in 2 languages, made with real humans (my team and I worked for dozens of hours on this) for almost 2 years now.
Is there a way to request access to the multi-language audio tracks? All I need is the ability to upload my own!

Make sure dubbing is opt-in, not opt-out, and make it configurable as an upload default. I don't want a dollar store version of myself talking in my videos in a language I don't speak or understand. I also have concerns about cultivating a community that I can't even talk to without the assistance of translation tech.
Fully agree. Interesting in concept for those who want it, but it should absolutely be optional
As others have said... should be opt in, not opt out.
TikTok is far better than RUclips in all these features. The only thing which is good about RUclips is good ads earnings. If other platforms show some generosity then that will be the funeral days of RUclips.
For real. TikTok is a superior platform, except for false flaggings sometimes and a crazy 50% cut that they keep on any kind of donation or subscription. Let's see how things will evolve in the near future.

How do I opt out of auto dubbing exactly? Please give visuals and I wish this was opted out by default. How do I turn off communities exactly? I’m already I overwhelmed with the comment section. What is vertical live?
All this AI stuff looks terrible. Viewers should least have the option to completely block all AI Content and all content that uses it must flag the content.
I agree with this. I have yet to see any labeling of AI. It's almost like since it's optional, creators who use AI just aren't self flagging. It needs to be a mandatory fill in option like the COPPA thing. Creators should be required to say if they use AI or not.

Yeah, just as I would like to filter all shorts from search results and my home-page, I'd also like to be able to ignore AI stuff. Just as important is the need to distinguish between AI and human-created VFX, they are *not* the same but right now, when uploading a video that might contain VFX we are pushed to click the option that will doubtless be used to flag AI content.
@@xjet No, they aren't requiring the option to be even filled out to say if a video is AI or not. That's actually a problem because AI content is still being uploaded without the AI notice label. VFX is noticeably not the same as AI so I'm unsure on your issue.
@@MickRocc RUclips doesn't presently disinguish between AI and VFX. They say to declare any video that:
"Makes a real person appear to say or do something they didn’t do Alters footage of a real event or place"
Which could be AI *or* VFX. I do quite a bit of VFX and I don't want all my hard work lumped in with AI.

Keen for the AI dubbing to actually sound like us. Alternatives like Eleven labs already do this very well, but are very costly.

What I really want is proper threading of the comments.
I like to encourage viewers to discuss the video, but it gets really confusing to see which comment a person is replying to as the discussion continues.
This has confused me on longer comment threads....So I started adjusting my comment so it includes the name of the comment I replied to. But, to your point....it is easier to simply not comment and go to another video.

Stable volume btw is really bad for ASMR creators :( it ruined asmr for many and they didnt even know it was on! So I am reminded my viewrs a lot now

Some cool new stuff there, especially interested in Community features. What I would love to see, as a gaming streamer, is support for a twitch drops style feature. So that partnered streamers can drive engagement through providing game items to viewers.

It's so disappointing that RUclips refuses to even think twice about generative AI, given that it's essentially theft. Especially egregious when RUclips will do nothing to stop false copyright claimers whilst effectively cheering on backdoor copyright infringement. Not to mention that we have no guarantees that genAI won't be/isn't being trained on creators' videos to boot.

I am wating for a feature that allows me show my videos in multiple languages.
The conversation was indeed fascinating. Kudos for the extensive knowledge and for making it easily comprehensible.
Our question is, when will it be possible to auto-dob directly from the auto-translation? Many people watch and listen to our educational videos outside the English-speaking world.
Our auto-generated subtitles, which are direct from English speech, are flawless (we haven't found any errors yet), and the auto-translation to German and Danish (our native language) subtitles is perfect.
We are looking forward to an AI-generated voice directly from the auto-translated subtitles.
We hope you continue the excellent work. It is of great help to our students.

Why don't you fix some of the actual, years-long problems instead of riding the buzzword hype train?
Sometimes I think the pepperoni isn't that good and you need to avoid it on the pizza
( Well, so many of the comments were complaints so I wanted to fit in and could not think of anything to complain about. Maybe emojis...I hate it when my phone suggests them, or worse still when someone texts me a "like"....don't text back unless you want to add something ).

AI auto dub would be amazing... hopefully it won't take years like the multi audio tracks that are still not available for most

It's sad, that Shorts are killing long form. Audience went to the short form side and forgot there are long form videos. In TikTok, I could get many followers in just few nonsense videos. In RUclips, I already posted many long form, highly edited and helpful videos and still get only 8 Subscribers?
