Pixel maybe, s24 never, too bright, too much exposition, pictures look flat, blown away, small difference between subjects and the sky for example. Just compare the dynamic range on s24 and pixel
Don't, I have tried Samsung twice, in 2023 and now in 2024, I returned to iPhone in less than a month both times, you're going to hate it. Just warning you, from OS, to speed, to camera quality, trust me, stick to your iPhone.
@FATHOLLYWOODB123 he can try for 15 days and then return it and take his money back with return policy. So he can try. I use s24u its faster than any iPhone at launching daily apps like social media and the online content inside the apps also loads faster. For cameras quality i think the video speaks by itself, i mean look at this contrast disaster on the newer iPhone next to 1 year old Samsung 3:33
13:53 Samsung audio quality and noise canceling is doing really great here... it almost feels similar to your studio mic (on phone speaker, not headphones)
Photo comparison is interesting because one of the larger criticisms of iPhone photos in the past is that it has a tendency to overclock saturation especially on blues. I’m surprised to see it more muted now.
Crazy how many people don't like real life/natural looking photos. The S24 Ultra is way too bright and oversaturated. iPhone is probably the closest to what it actually looks like in real life, but I think the pixel does the best job of blending the two without going overboard.
I think the only thing you can compare is amount of details as well as compare it to pictures taken by dslr to judge what’s closest to real. All can be manipulated like you mentioned, you can make iPhone photos to look like Samsung, but amount of detail won’t change, nor high dynamic range. Here iPhone and Pixel are trading blows. Trying to compare colors without reference, and basing on a preference knowing it can be tweaked on each is totally pointless exercise.
I'm impressed that you didn't complain when the 13 Pro Max or 14 Pro Max was saturated, instead you kept pushing it, but now that the tables have turned and the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is experiencing saturation, you're suddenly taking notice.
8:55 "iPhone smoothest transition between lenses" iPhone then proceeds to be choppy on the lens transition and blows the light up. Some serious RUclipsr bias at play here.
It might just be the short clip i used as an example. I would say Android rivals have got much better, but the iphone is still the smoothest overall. There's genuinely no bias here (or not that i'm aware of)
As a Pixel 9 Pro XL owner, I can confirm the accuracy of the review regarding the photo and selfie cameras. The Samsung S24 Ultra is also great with its features. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is consistently good at video, but otherwise not impressive.
Samsung takes nice photos but S24 photos are well oversaturated, colours are too rich and not natural. But hey, people think it takes nice photos cause of that, kids posting on Insta and FB will be extatic about S24.... Change settings in any phone camera and it will take even more colourful photos that look like from disneyland. S24 is also usless in darker conditions. Reading comments it looks like Samsung done it on purpose increasing saturation in their photos as people seem to like it more. Punchy photos xD I am disappointed most with Pixel
NaTuRaL sHaDoWs 3:33 u mean black shadows with detail that can't be recovered because these are heic and jpeg compressed files , not raw. I think it looks awful.
@@wheelyflac you should split the concepts. Natural shadows doesn't mean editable. Natural shadows mean how it reality looks like. Then again, it doesn't mean you can't recover them. If you are concerned then you can shoot ProRAW that can surely have all that information for shadows to edit them.
@@jemiljmathew9090 Go ahead and use Android then. We like natural feeling more over any other oversaturared/image processing/being too colorful pictures/videos.
I find the photos kind of misleading. By default apple gives natural tone while others saturate it to make it look good, Which can be achieved with photographic style on iPhone. BTW Cool Vid.

It’s the only social media app where Samsung is the best for photos it is a higher resolution and uses the full HDR algorithm . Pixel takes better photos, hands down. iPhone photos look like they've been over-sharpened and the clarity is turned up way too high. They're just not that great, in my opinion.
I came here after watching The Verge mention the lack of shadows in the iPhone photos, and boy, some of the earlier Samsung photos are nearly shadowless. Always good to see a side-by-side comparison.
It's true that the photos of the S24 Ultra are often a little more saturated than reality, but seriously how do all these youtubers manage to get such over-oversaturated photos with the S24 Ultra 🤔
I'd like to know how everyone gets all the good shots using the other sensors other than the 12 MP. I had an S24U for a week, and no matter what settings I used, the 50 and 200 MP photos seemed to get over processed for some reason. I returned the phone and ended up sticking with the 15 PM. And now they have released an update and people are saying it helped the cameras a lot, but the phone is 8 months in at this point. To me, things like that should be caught early on and fixed immediately, especially considering the cameras are what people rave on Samsung about.
To be quite honest, I am disappointed with the performance of the iPhone 16 Pro Max. I'm not hating on Apple, but I was expecting a bigger performance jump over the iPhone 15 Pro Max. And it also did not separate itself enough from the S24 Ultra and the Pixel 9 Pro XL. Sorry. And those reflecting lights are still there. The new coating apparently makes no difference. Just being honest. I'm not buying the 16 Pro Max anymore.
I think the standard sound was way better than any of those other settings. I hate it when phones try to cancel out sound in video and then you end up with this hollow sounding audio. Just record everything and do it at high quality.
Erickson, you're speaking as though, that's a bad thing to knock against Pixel. Actually, it's a feature that actually helps my argument, rather then goes against it.
Point is, you wouldn't have to wait 12-24 hours sending files to a cloud if the Pixel recorded good video to begin with. iPhone videos are high quality, ready to send, edit as soon as you hit stop record and it takes it even further with native Log. The Pixel is behind in video.
@EricDejuanOOO Honestly, I use the Video Booth on Pixel and maybe when they first introduced the feature on last year's iteration but since then I've never waited 24-48 for a video to process so please come with some more Intel when you're trying to come with that argument against Pixel ☠️🤦🏽♂️
Have been thinking about making the conversion from Apple to Samsung for some time. This might be the year. The iPhone 16 really needs to go back in the oven until it's fully baked. The iPhone 16 feels like it was pushed out the door too early from a Kickstarter campaign.
The video was very engaging. I appreciate your honesty and thoroughness. I completely agree with your assessment that the Pixel is the best point-and-shoot camera. The iPhone seems to be lagging behind, and while Samsung offers many features, the Pixel's images are more balanced and natural-looking. In my opinion, the Pixel excels by maintaining consistency and continuous improvement ✨😎
Anyone who thinks the S24 Ultra or Pixel takes better photos might be missing the point. As an S24 Ultra owner, I find its images overly saturated and blurry, especially in video. The iPhone outshines them, resembling a modern Sony camera-truly breathtaking for a phone! In contrast, Pixel and Samsung photos often look generated and less refined. I’d love to see how the Honor Magic 6 Pro stacks up
That's just! Your subjective opinion. I scrutinize the comments of S24U owners on reddit, the smartphone cameras do have flaws. They are good but not the best, in terms of zoom the S24U is a head above the 16PM
It's nonsense all uses filters at the time of publish. The real colours naturally depending on light usually not nice enough whats important here which one taking nicer to look at it.
Man, it just popped into my mind how much acting a RUclips creator must do in videos like this. Obviously everything has been improved, but more so than anything, Tom, your acting has gotten so much better over time. I am ATROCIOUS at fake laughing and smiling, so this is coming from a subject matter expert. Let's face it - you were bad at it for awhile as well, but now it looks so much more natural. (Lol, i promise this is meant as a compliment.)
@@DennisSchmitz I actually think Samsung is the most well-rounded cameras if you consider video, photos and especially the selfie camera which I think is the best. But honestly they are all hit and miss. I think Sony's phones have the best camera quality.
I think i like the iPhone 16's results the least. For comparison it would be great to have an argentic/analog picture of the same scenes to have a point of references in terms of tones. Purely on aesthetic (not technical quality) i'd say S24 Ultra, then Pixel, then iPhone. Now if i knew what the scenes were looking like IRL it would maybe change my mind.
Even though S24 has the most punchy image, I feel it looks fake? Samsung does the same with TVs too. Some people love the insane green grass and blue sky. I feel it is like a saturation drug. "Need more punch and vibrancy!!". Better to adjust it yourself after the photo is taken.
Because the Galaxy S24 Ultra is generally shot with higher saturation than in reality, it makes people who are not good at photography think that the Galaxy takes clear and good pictures. There is a reason why it received a disappointing evaluation in the last Dxomark ranking. For your information, I am Korean.
Personal preference buddy. You can turn down the saturation on Samsung and you can increase the saturation on the other phones. Most avg consumers are taking photos to post on social media. Samsung's just requires less editing before posting.
@@torezgermy2 This is proof that you don’t know much about photography. There is a big difference between editing with already high saturation and editing without it. This narrows the user’s options.
Tf pixel and s24 photos look better in most of the images.
I conclude that the Pixel is best for photography
Pixel maybe, s24 never, too bright, too much exposition, pictures look flat, blown away, small difference between subjects and the sky for example. Just compare the dynamic range on s24 and pixel

Photo comparison is interesting because one of the larger criticisms of iPhone photos in the past is that it has a tendency to overclock saturation especially on blues. I’m surprised to see it more muted now.
S24 4:41 has the option to add blur to portrait
so does the samsung, but it's artificial, doesn't always work well (and sometimes not at all). the iphone is using real depth info it captured
@@Thetechchap All portrait blur is artificial. The iPhone just use depth data to artificially add that blur.
@@QuicknStraight You're quite right - but that is at least more accurate based on the actual depth of the scene
Crazy how many people don't like real life/natural looking photos. The S24 Ultra is way too bright and oversaturated. iPhone is probably the closest to what it actually looks like in real life, but I think the pixel does the best job of blending the two without going overboard.
people dont use phones for professional photography
And they add saturation before posting on social media. 😂

@JaCrispy2391 3:33 Bxaxaahhahaha look at the black shadows on the iPhone u can't even see the buildings they are half black 😂
It's bizarre how the iPhone seems to shoot the best video but take the worst pictures, subjective of course.
I would mostly agree with that
do you mean iPhone does not add extra saturation to their photos? Rich blue sky, glowing red jumper.... nah... good for kids and Insta stories maybe

8:55 "iPhone smoothest transition between lenses"
iPhone then proceeds to be choppy on the lens transition and blows the light up. Some serious RUclipsr bias at play here.
I don't see that. The galaxy and iPhone look close in smoothness there.
I love the contrast and natural shadows of the iphone. Well done Apple!

Pixel takes better photos, hands down. iPhone photos look like they've been over-sharpened and the clarity is turned up way too high. They're just not that great, in my opinion.
And yet people are praising Crapple here
I came here after watching The Verge mention the lack of shadows in the iPhone photos, and boy, some of the earlier Samsung photos are nearly shadowless. Always good to see a side-by-side comparison.
I ordered the IPhone 16 Pro Max and should be arriving this Friday, but definitely the Galaxy S24 is the clear winner here.
Yea for photos def
Nah. S24 is loser and its night and day difference. You guys just blind.
Didn't expect the Selfie video on Samsung to be that good. Like the video is absolutely useable for a Vlog.
@@bourbon.36 I had no issues with my S24 Ultra and I have it since launch
I’m actually surprised by how good all 3 were. Close enough to where you can’t really go wrong with any.
What this shows is the latest iPhone isn’t very good except for video but most of us just take pictures.
S24 ultra is looking good. It captures the warmth of the sunny day perfectly. I like it.
Yes lens glare is still a problem, and that freaking yellow tint

I think the standard sound was way better than any of those other settings. I hate it when phones try to cancel out sound in video and then you end up with this hollow sounding audio. Just record everything and do it at high quality.
For audio, Samsung galaxy s24 ultra is clearly the best.....the sound is insanely crisp!!!

The iPhone reports real colors, the other two are a joke of imagine processing, seriously.
It's nonsense all uses filters at the time of publish. The real colours naturally depending on light usually not nice enough whats important here which one taking nicer to look at it.
Man, it just popped into my mind how much acting a RUclips creator must do in videos like this. I've been in on this channel since the ground floor, before it even reached 40k subscribers, and have never left.
The dynamic range on the pixels front-facing video is above and beyond the other two
Surprising, the iPhone looks like the pixels photos. Much more subdued.
I kinda like it. Was choosing Pixel 9 and iPhone 16 pictures, Samsung looks unnatural and often way oversharpened, especially in zoom.
