@@Manuel-rl6um Oh stop trying to make it sound more impressive than it really is. At its default settings it's running at a lower resolution and only at 60hz.
@@Randomdude21-e also a different chip and OS 😏yes, androids do need bigger battery, since their OS is more battery hungry..and SD is more hungry than Dimensity. By "squeezing" it also means packing a much much bigger battery into the same thickness, making it also cool better and cost less along the way.. so yeah.. with their OS and Chip, they got a much more than any other brand. Not to mention how the test would be ridiculous in cold, where Honor would keep the same performance, while everyone else would flop, since its the only one using carbon-silicon battery.
So if you left the phones at their default settings that means the S24 Ultra and Pixel 9 Pro XL are running at a power resolution than the iPhones, and in the Pixels case it's running at only 60 hz. Wish you changed the settings so it'd be more comparable to the pro iPhones as that's the price range they're both in.
Dude, how does that even matter. The efficiency of the batteries matter only when the phone weighs significantly lighter than the competition. You have an efficient mileage giving car, but it fuels capacity is low.
Smaller screens can help you save battery life. The S24 Ultra has a higher resolution screen, so it uses more power. But yeah, the 16 Pro is a better buy than the Pro Max because of its battery life.
thank you Tom for this video, you really cured my curiosity about these phones haha i always love looking at battery drain tests and i know it's a lot of hard work so yeah thanks for this.
@popeye199506 if you are talking about the crappy videos while scrolling, than the video creator was noob, he can't scroll enough fast to generate 120fps.. because LTPO won't refresh the screen 120 times when the CPU only generating 90 frames.. that extra 30 refresh is a wasted energy, if any crappy phone refreshing 120 times when it's only 90 different frames are generated.. you can scroll fast enough even on iPhone to reach the 120fps, but it's meanigless, but we arr happy you care more the 2-3 sec between content switching like thr content itself (what is probably just 60fps limited just like this video, so you will only watch on 60Hz.. 😂)
Mahn first you made the iPhone 16 vs S24 Ultra vs Pixel 9 Pro XL camera comparison and now this A 13* Phone battery drain test!! You are not The Tech Chap but The Tech Chad!!
Last year 15 plus has the best iphone battery, so that had to be in this testing. The next one can have both plus phones from this year and last year, up against the 16 pro max
It's impressive how a single device can lead in almost all the aspects. I had seen how several people are addressing negative against Apple but according to what I see Apple leads in terms of: PERFORMANCE, DESIGN, CAMERA,BATTERY LIFE, SCREEN, SOFTWARE.....
I currently got the 15 Plus but am looking for a smaller iPhone. Now should I get the 16 or 16 Pro (money is no issue luckily). 16 is slimmer and lighter, the 16 Pro has a better camera? Alghough the 16 has a lower, as in better, f-stop on the main shooter than the 16 Pro. Mhhhh I really like the 15 Plus battery life, do you think I should get the 16 Pro (and put it in 60 Hz mode because I mostly read and text on it only) or just get the 16 for a lighter and slimmer device?
There is no point in doing 60hz mode. All the pro screens are variable refresh rate LPTO that can go as low as 1hz instead of being a locked 60hz. The pros are not locked to 120hz.
I own both the Vivo X100 Pro and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 (also owned the S24 Ultra before selling it) and I can confirm the X100 Pro performs so much better than the Samsung counterparts. Mediatek smokes Snapdragon this year. Props to them for turning it around
Using x100 pro, and getting 9-10hrs SOT with 5G enabled and pretty medium to heavy usage, mediatek is doing wonders silently, and ofcourse Vivo deserves praise too. Bravo Vivo, x100 pro is a huge W in terms of camera and now battery life

Great video! I really appreciate the "sleep time" battery test, as well as having other outsiders like vivo x100 pro. I hope you'll test next Chinese compact versions also, against the king (iPhone 16 pro)
The new iPhones have way longer battery life than previous generation and the highest performance benchmark scores out of all phones here. Yet people say they are the same iPhones year after year.
That's because iPhone does not have the functionality like the S24U even if it has better performance and battery life than S24U.
@@AkaneKurokawa96what practical functionality does the S24U have over iPhone?
base iPhone 15 and 16 barely have difference in battery life considering iPhone 16 is marketed to have a big battery boost lol

why is the results so much different than arun's video?
I bet Tom's S 24 Ultra isn't new or well maintained at all
You can see at 0:30 that Arun has deep sleep activated. This saves battery on samsung
The standby time over night is a genuine idea to add to your battery test results
That's a drastic increase in battery life for Pixel compared to the previous generation..it beaten 6 other flagships including S24 ultra, that's impressive..I thought it would die first.
That's with Now Playing, Hey Google, Gestures and more activated by default. It can easily be improved further.
And the smaller pixel 9 pro beats it
I’m glad the Pixel 9 Pro XL beat the S24 Ultra, well I have a soft spot for Pixel phones as I’ve used a couple of them and am not a fan of the software on Samsung phones.
@@Manuel-rl6um Oh stop trying to make it sound more impressive than it really is. At its default settings it's running at a lower resolution and only at 60hz.
Vivo is great but.. iPhone 16 beating some phones with more than 5000mah is amazing!
What Honor is squeezing from that chip is just amazing. ...and its not an accident, last year they were at the top as well.
Squeezing what? Battery? It has the biggest battery, 1000mAh more then iphone😂
Iphone 16 pro on par with s24ultra its crazy😂 3577mAh battery! 16 pro is the best flagship for its size!

So funny is that you don't even know Iphone did't really run in 120Hz and just around 90Hz ,
Honor M6 Pro has 5600mAh and Vivo X100 Pro has 5400mAh, so not even a "simple" just 10% bigger battery, they are 20-25% bigger batteries.

Mhhhh I really like the 15 Plus battery life, do you think I should get the 16 Pro (and put it in 60 Hz mode because I mostly read and text on it only) or just get the 16 for a lighter and slimmer device?
go and get the 16 pro man
There is no point in doing 60hz mode. All the pro screens are variable refresh rate LPTO that can go as low as 1hz instead of being a locked 60hz. The pros are not locked to 120hz.
Get the pro. They only differ the size on the pro and promax model right now. All features and others are the same.
