I’m using the 410 hybrids 4,5 and love them, I adjusted the loft down one degree to play with my i500 irons 6-uw. I’m running Ts3driver and TS2 3,5 woods. Love the gaping and so glad going back to dual hybrids in my bag.

I had the original Crossover having given up on hybrids... I switched to the G410 crossover this year and for me it's the most consistent club in my bag, much improved on the original in both looks and performance!

Struggled with my hybrid and just put the G410 crossover in my bag and seeing some great improvements, especially off a tee.
Keep up the good work James....

I have just changed my crossover for the hybrid g410. The hybrid gives me a lovely draw bias and stops quicker. It's also much more forgiving on off centre hits.

My son has the 3 crossover and loves it, I’ve just gone from G10 to Titleist 818 H1 hybrids! I can hit a 1 iron and still occasionally play it but prefer the hybrids and can hit them low if needed!

    Great video, again.
Some players just can’t game a hybrid OR a wood...though rare, I’m one of them.
I tried to get fitted for a new hybrid this winter at PGA Superstore...tried 8 brands in different shafts/lie combos...couldn’t hit anything consistent.
The ping crossover, for me, is much more consistent and versatile. I love it. I have the 2 iron.

Saw my pro and got a G410 5 hybrid (25) to cover the gap from the longer irons that I have taken out of my bag. I play on a hilly, tree lined parkland course with small greens.
Really easy to hit and has an effortless high flight. I was also surprised by the spring off the face, carrying similar or last a Talyor made M3 21 I have been hitting. Very pleased and may look for some more (2 and 3 or 4).

Yup.. had the 2 crossover and it went like a rocket.. if you hit it out of the middle.. miss hits were punished.. hard to hit a high draw with.. Use the srixon one now. Much more forgiving.. bit wouldn't mind trying the 2 g410.

Great Comparison! So many nuggets of wisdom spread throughout the video on the differences between a driving iron and a hybrid and their uses!
I have 15 clubs in the bag ( i only play 14) and this video illustrates the reason why! Between my 3WD and my 4 iron I have 2 clubs that I alternate depending on the course, wind conditions and my general mood!
    They are:
    1) Titleist 718 T-MB 2i (17°), with Graphite Design Tour AD 95X Shaft
    2) Titleist 21° 818H2 A4(20°), with Graphite Design Tour AD-DI 95X Shaft
I love them both. and each has it uses!

  • @BeachBow

I've used my 845 2 iron for decades. When I upgraded to the P-790s, I kept my 2 iron. That was until I hit the P790 2 UDI. Had a little adjustment since the shaft was an inch longer than my 2 iron, but boy does that club hit a sweet ball!! It's almost like having a 2nd driver in my bag. One that I can hit off the ground. And I can work it, draw/fade, just as easy. Love the club!! I tried the TM GAPR Lo, but it just didn't have the same feel, distance, or workability as the UDI. And luckily, in Florida, we've got fairways that'll run forever!! LOL!!

Try and keep the camera steady when showing chart data, and preferably all the screen data in one shot rather than move the camera. If possible side by side comparison charts on the same screen would be ideal as it’s difficult to digest the data quickly. A good video which answers the question many golfers are asking

I’ve never his the crossover but I hit the G410 3 hybrid this weekend and it was not for me. I know I was most likely the issue but I had a terrible time keeping the ball from slicing. I’m using Mizuno CLK right now and that has been the most reliable, forgiving hybrid I’ve ever used.

I have a Ping i20 hybrid that I've had for years. No intention of changing it yet, and if I did I would check out the Taylor Made GAPR first. Hybrids are excellent from a fluffy lie in the semi-rough too.

  • @colinboxall2692
    @colinboxall2692 5 лет назад +1

I use both off 13. Hybrid is higher, more forgiving and goes further. Hybrid also goes further left/right when it goes wrong ! Using hybrid off the tee need to watch tee height. Easy get too much loft. Summer months I use TMB 3 because straighter and roll out pretty much same as hybrid. That’s my take. Ping hybrid looks good but hate the look of those turbulators on top.

  • @billkendall9110

Great vlog James! Here would be an interesting comparison. The Driving iron versus the 3 or 4 iron from a set. FOr example, you can get the TMUDI in the P790 as a 2 iron, or the 4 iron from the P790. Would expect eh UDI to go farther but the 4 iron to be more forgiving. The question would be how much more distance would you need to get from the UDI to warrant it over the 4 iron.

Hybrid every day for me. I have a 2 hybrid 16 degree and it’s my go to club off the tee if I’m having a bad day with the driver, absolutely love it and it’s still great off the fairway on long or 5s with that bit more forgiveness

Great timing for this video just put an order for the G410 Crossover 3 Iron! After 7 years with the Ping i20 Hybrid in the bag I was on the hunt for a new club which could offer me stability and confidence off tee on tight par-4s. The issue I've had with the i20 ishigh launch, causing issue in headwinds and going (very) left on bad swings. So was looking for something that would offer a lower flight together with elimination of the left shots as much as possible.
Attended a demo day this Saturday and pretty much tested all available options from the different brands. Callaway Apex 2019 Hybrid was nice but launching the same as my i20 and salesman didn't seem very interested in finding a suitable option for me. So moved over to the Ping tent, the Crossover have had my interest since I first saw it online, it didn't dissapoint when I finally saw it in flesh. Was putting out balls on with desired ballflight, 3300-3500 spin, and most importantly no hooks, poor swings would at most generate rough shots on course. Tested the g410 Hybrid aswell just to get a feel for it, together with a heavier shaft, as a possible cure to my left shots were I tend to rush during the turn. Great ballflight as well, tad higher, but was again seeing the offline shots, both left and right. Distance was awesome, entering 3-wood territory, which would cause too much of a distance gap in the bag.
Previously I have been a bit neglecting towards testing clubs before buying, and more interested in making good deals online based on different club and shaft reviews. This time I walked away with a different shaft than expected. Really looking forward to receive the Crossover 3 iron with a Tensei CK Pro Blue 80 shaft!

Links or Downland with wind into or off the side then the crossover possibly prevails. However, when you need height, forgiveness and want play out of light rough, the hybrid would win out. I personally use a 7-wood in that loft.

Is it me, I just don't notice the sound a club makes at impact? Anyway I'm currently waiting for a set of Ping G410s 5I to PW with 3 and 4 hybrid. I've decided to change my 16 year old Mizuno MX 20s which really are cracking Irons.
I grew up with blades but always struggled to get my long irons into the air, possibly because when I 2as a junior blades were just like hitting a carving knife. For me game improvement Irons have worked a treat and I'm a mid single figure handicapper.
I don't know if it's just me but the one problem I find with cavity backs is when I need to get a big fade, a draw for me I find easy. Anyway at the age of 45 now I feel that going forward the hybrids are just ridiculously easy to hit.
