I just got the ping g410 little over a week ago. With it in my bag I have gotten the most birdies in a week that I ever had. The club is nice and light so I swing is faster.

Anyone with the PING hybrid in the bag will tell you that it’s clearly the best hybrid on the market. It has an anti-left setting and it’s really not as loud as you make it sound in your description. Of green grass it’s very pleasing. Our club champion has one and he’s a +2 handicap.

Yup. Ping G410 3 hybrid and G400 3 wood in my bag and they’re both absolutely amazing. The hybrid especially is my favorite club I’ve ever owned. Thing has crazy pop and it’s effortless to hit well.

Just got the Ping G410 19 degree 3 hybrid today. Hit it in the sim and first strike cold i got 220 yrds. Has a very solid feel. I was using the cobra F-max 4 hybrid with 22 degrees loft. Getting 30 yards more out of my new ping.

I play off of a 4 and I got rid of my 3 wood for a strong hybrid. Its the best decision I have ever made. I hit the 18 degree hybrid just as far as my 3 wood with more consistency. The strong hybrids are long!

I have just bought my first hybrid as never had one before and loving it. My set of irons has 4 and 3 irons, I can hit the four iron very well I struggled with three iron. Now I can get good distance which I couldn't get from the three iron and the hybrid I bought was the c 300 Wilson staff fantastic.

I play 2 G410 hybrids at 19 degrees and 23 degrees (22 degree hybrid set 1 degree weaker) and they are really long. The 23 degree goes the same distance as my 19 degree Cobra F7 hybrid. Very forgiving and generally pretty straight

I own the previous model Epic Flash #2 Hybrid at 18 degrees with the stock Recoil ES 780 F4 85 Gram Shaft - it is cut 1/2" in length so plays the exact same length as the new Epic #3. The Recoil ES F4 in the last gen club is their Stiff Shaft but the ES stands for Enhanced Stability - i.e. it is reinforced with more graphite in the Butt and Mid Section for more aggressive type swings but still is suppose to have a slightly softer Tip section for 'feel' - i.e. to be mid / mid high launch.
I was very interested to try the New Epic Hybrid #3 as it is also 18 degrees, and the same length, so I went to a Callaway Demo day 3 days ago and tried the new club with the new stock Stiff Tensei Silver Shaft also in Stiff - i.e. the club you just hit. Let me be the first to say, having just hit them both back to back, that this new 70 gram Tensei Silver Stiff Shaft, is clearly NOT aimed at the same crowd that the last gen 85gram Recoil ES Stiff shaft was aimed at - it felt like a wet noodle in comparison - basically garbage in my opinion (yes for me). Unfortunately because Callaway has changed their connection tip to a new generation, it does not accept older gen tips so that I could try different shafts that were available in the fitting kit at the time.
I am a huge, huge fan of the old Epic Hybrid - I can fade it in for a 220 yard carry or tee it up and knuckleball it 240 yards on that tight par 4. After a bunch of hits trying to time the Tensai shaft, I was able to sample enough hits to know that it is 5 yards longer than the old club - ie. it was a 235 carry club for me versus 230 with the older club - and the much bigger head gives it very nice stability (and would have be way better if the shaft wasn't so bad).
For me (108-110 Driver swing speed), the 18 degree Hybrid is an amazing club to have in the bag because it serves two roles:
    - tight Par 4 driving club
    - 220 to 245 into Par 5 club
I like it also because it doesn't fly uncontrollable high like a 4/5 wood does - but can also be hit off the grass, with both a draw and fade, unlike my ability to do so consistently with a 2 iron (which would be really just a Tee only club). If you need a Taylormade P790 UDI 2 iron, or similar, then you need one. If you want a club that is far more flexible, then you should absolutely try this new Epic Flash #3 - but I would only recommend it with a far more stable shaft - and I love the fact that you can knock it down to 17 degrees, or make it upright if you want to dial the club in for a Draw.

Still haven't found any hybrid for my game better than the Adams Pro. Recently found a mint one at local used sporting goods store for $30. Hybrids are designed for consistent distance and accuracy. Not which one is the longest. Considering the new prices for either one of the Ping or Callaway hybrids, I'm very happy to save that money for more golf rounds.

Personally, I like the matte finish on the Ping G410. I prefer a club that looks a little different out there, and as it turns out, I hit well with it.
Also, I've taken to replacing the OEM head covers with the non-branded sort. I hate it when my golf bag screams out brand names like a neon billboard. They should be paying me to do their advertising.

James good review but I’m very surprised that out of all the RUclips channels I’ve watched on the Ping G410 hybrid only 1 has picked up on the fact that the Ping G410 has a game changing flat lie position which helps stop that big left shot on long par 3’s. I’ve hit mine a fair few times now and my big miss has always been left until now. It’s straight or the slightest of draws making it a game changer for me and I’m sure would do in this setting for many others also :-)

Of the 2 the epic flash wins because it better hits the numbers and does what a hybrid is suppose to do, go high and land soft, more distance is fine if it fits in your bag or does a specific thing you need it to do, like say a driving iron or what have you

James, I wish you would focus on dispersion as much as you do distance. Forgiveness is just as important as distance for most of us. Personally I prefer a matte finish. I think the Ping is built to suit the player they cater to. Callaway, as of late, has been pushing the limit of distance so I am not surprised the Epic is lower lofted for the same # club.

      @cam466 5 лет назад

Trulsrohk I usually had a 2i in the bag also but once I got over my pride I think it’s way more useful to put a hybrid in the bag. The things just go so straight, they’re so consistent and easy to use and you can play them out of the thick rough, which you can’t do with the 2&3i. Only downside is that you can’t shape them like you can an iron, but like I said. They’re so easy to hit.

I have hit so many other hybrids and still have not found one that performs for me as my Adams do ! I can hit a 3h from 190 and have it hit and stop and sometimes I get such good spin it will zip back about 5 feet if greens are being receptive !!
love the shape of my Adams hybrids too , others are just to ugly and big for my tastes.
Ben Hogan has hybrids that look similar to the Adams but I have not had a chance to hit one .

Do you have the 16' Apex or the 19'? I've got 3 & 4 Apex hybrids(16' version) and decide to get the Flash 3 hybrid. It feels very solid overall, but i honestly get along better with the apex. Forgiveness wise, it was a tad better but not quite as much as I was expecting. You don't really ever get the same level of feedback with the Flash as you do with the Apex either. Flushed shot sound pretty good, but much more muted then a flushed shot with the Apex. Missed shots don't have the same level of audible contrast as the Apex. The Flash 3 hybrid is obviously longer then the Apex 3 being 18* vs 20*, so depending on the yardage your looking for it might fit your needs.

    Great review!
I have to admit that those results were not what I expected at all from 2 hybrids that I think of as more mid to high handicap in design. Those were decent spin numbers.... and a slight fade bias with both?
***Did lowering the loft of the G410 open the face a bit?
In any case, When I’m in the market for a hybrid I’m always looking for a few key things:
    1) small face (the more iron-like the better)
    2) solid sound/feel at impact
    2) clean, uncluttered crown
    3) ability to flatten the lie and open the face.
The main reason those are my criteria is that my miss tends to be a hook. Most standard hybrids have too much offset and too much of a draw bias for me. if I can’t crank it open and/or flatten the lie most wont work for me.
It’s why I game a Titleist 818h2. It’s fairly neutral for a hybrid plus it has all the adjustments I could want. Best of all, I don’t hook it which allows me to swing free with it!
    Back to James's review:
I agree with James. For me the easy winner of this review was the Callaway. It wins on looks, height and spin alone! I'm not a big fan of mat black either.
    Thanks for the nice comparison!

The one you buy is the one you hit best.
Watching someone else hit them won’t tell you.

Silly comment, as it begs the question- why did you bother to watch in the first place?

Callaway Epic Flash. I'm sure I should test both before buying. But the look of the Ping isn't for me.

maby if u hade kept the ping in its original setting the hight and spin and ballspeed would have been the same.

Had the G410 3 wood. Had to go. The sound is awful. Bought an M6. Much nicer sound. Callaway is much nicer to hit than the Ping. Epic is my next buy for hybrid

At no point do Callaway's woods or hybrids win "best"... their shaft offerings are garbage for tour level swings. It appears Callaway is forcing customers into $300 shaft upgrades. Very few stock options for heavy loaders, north of 111mph.

makes me laugh how callaway can call an 18 degree club a 3 hybrid, it's getting out of hand with these ridiculous lofts.
