This serious test helped me to score better incredibly fast: all (and that were some) former hybrids i tested did a powerful hook. As all of you i suffered from an incredible brainwash to prefer hybrids against longer irons. Finely i gave up searching for an alternative to weak 4i and 3i shots. Then - after watching this video - i ordered the ping g410 hybrid 3, 4 and 5. Immediately set them to 3 degree flat in lie and: what a wonderful experience. I removed 5i, 4i, 3i and 7w immediately. My search has reached a happy end! Happy Christmals to all golfers over 50 to 60, who are not coming over the top and therefore slice the ball to nowhereland. Ping g410 hybrid 3 (19 degree) 3 degree flat is my standard 190-200 yeard transporter now.
Just picked up my Ping 410 3 hybrid. It explodes off the face and is exactly what i was looking for. I found it much easier to hit off the deck than my 5 wood or 3 wood. Off a tee got it out to 250 ish without over swinging. Good option for mid to higher handicaps. Cheers from Vancouver 🇨🇦
I was in a fitting today and kept telling the guys I don’t want to see anything go left (right handed)!!! To know that there is a hybrid out there that I can get fitted to, I am SO excited!!! Awesome stuff! I listened to you and my G400 Max took the “lefts” away, so I can’t wait to see the full fitting for Matt with hybrid!
Great video! Highly recommend trying this hybrid to anyone who struggles hooking hybrids. Unique sound took a couple of swings to get used to but liked it after 5 shots (when i saw the results in trackman) outperformed all 6 other hybrids in feel and consistency. Was beaten in distance only by the epic flash (for me). Highly recommend, thanks matt for putting me onto this club!
Per Ping’s website the new sleeve’s “eight positions enable you to fine-tune trajectories through loft (+- 1.5*) and lie adjustments, including up to 3* flatter than standard”. This would seem to match up with your dynamic lie numbers, yes?
This will probably be my next hybrid, and the adjustability will give me the confidence to know it's set correctly to me . Great review thanks for your efforts.
I learned a lot about this flat lie "stuff." You hear that complaint that hybrids have a certain ball fight and the flat lie fixes it. This showed that. Thanks..
I've been away from the game for 13 years. I love the reviews. It has helped me cut through the marketing and see what clubs might fit my handicap. Turbulators, love em or hate em. I hit the ping g30 hybrids and g410 well. Alta shafts. You could put a popsicle on top of that club and if the ball flights and stays in play I'll play it. Nice work boys. I wondered where you guys were from til I heard "Bang on." Joel buffalo, Ny
I love seeing tests from this part of the bag. This part of the bag gets overlooked by a lot of people. A shoot out with some small hybrid heads would be good to see. I hit the apex yesterday and that was great. It's a part of my bag that I still toss up between hybrid and driving iron. Great work guys!
At 10:21 in video,Matt hit that darn hybrid farther than my driver on some days. Just speechless there are creatures on this earth that hit a ball that far with a hybrid.
I can't believe how far Matt hits that 19*! Just wow! Can't wait to see what he does with a custom fit one! McDonalds needs to sign Matt up to a sponsorship deal! :0)
I'm new to this channel, only discovered it last week. I must say, the content is really enjoyable, and very informative! It's good to hear some new perspectives also, keep up the good work guys😃
Great club. I loved the fitting process and the explanations. As someone who always gets fitted, the more knowledge I have of the process make me an informed consumer. Custom fitting makes all the difference. Even as a 7 hcp, I have to hit a lot to develop a good pattern from which to judge. It's nice to have such a consistent swing to work with. LOL
So if you looked at 3, 4 and 5 hybrid from g410 would you expect a big difference in set up? Could you have completely different set up and shaft? I tried 4 and 5 and hit 5 amazing and 4 went left every time.
Just want to point something out..People think if your hitting it off the toe bend it more upright or if you have a heel strike, bend it flat to get a centred strike. In fact the opposite occurs as you can see from flattening the lie here, Matt's strike is much better.
@@RoidTinsley the proof is in the pudding. I found it from testing on GC2 and this test clearly shows this on the strikes after the lie angle adjustments were made
Guys loving the content. Just a small point any chance you could get a mid handicap Golfer review these clubs with you.would love to see what changes you can make.
Just got fit for a G410 Plus driver with Evenflow Black 75 and I have never hit the ball straighter or farther, I love the combo and it being a stock shaft is a huge savings. Definitely looking into this as an option as I also tested the G410 5-wood and have an older hybrid I'm looking to replace.
My fitter and I found out I was by far better matched to the Taylormade M 6 Hybrids so I have a full set of those now. So much easier for me to hit in a consistent manner. I always thought Ping hybrids were the best for me but found out I was wrong. Matter of fact I did find that the G 410 hybrids were harder to hit then the G 400 ones. Most likely everyone will not have those results but I sure did. Spider Dubiel
In the video, you adjusted the hybrid 1 degree flat. How tall is Matt? I'm a 5'5" guy who has played anywhere from 3 to 5 1/2 degrees flat. I'm a pretty decent ball striker but I've always wondered if my woods should be adjusted flat like my irons. I've looked around and can't seem to find anyone who can adjust a hybrid. Playing an upright hybrid and especially an upright 3 wood cause me to fight against a hook all the time.
Great reviews as always from usa i think your the best on youtube. I bought the 3 wood Lst driver and still trying to decide on hybrid thinking of 21 since i have a 5 wood already in the g400
How often do you fit people to different lie angles with the longer irons compared to the shorter irons? Just feels like when I get a longer club the head gets a little toe up at adress. Maybe its a swing thing for me, something wrong I do.
I want to get a 2H and crank it down to lowest loft as a wood replacement, but I don't want a flatter lie. Does the standard -1.5* setting adjust the lie or does it stay standard?
Talking about the g400 max driver sleeve. What setting would make the driver flatter and which is upright? Ping website doesn’t have any info on it. Thanks guys great video.
Love that you are starting with stock and shows how ping puts a great shaft on for no upcharge. i know its tough since shafts are so different person to person.
The G400 17* and 19* had toe weighting to keep it neutral bias, and that's what I've seen with my 19*. Did they keep it the same in the 410 series, or are you reliant on the hosel to determine the bias now? Don't feel too bad not waiting to get the 410 as you noted the G400 was exceptional in everything but the 3w. Stock shaft options are getting to be so good!
I am a tall player and normally play more upright irons. If were to flatten the lie angle on the hybrid, would I not need to extend the length to adjust for lie angle?
Can you test with the Tensai Blue shaft? Seriously considering the G410 hybrids having just replaced Driver and 4w with G410. But going take some doing to get the Adams Red 18* & 23* with Fubuki shafts c.2009 out of the bag....
With the speed and precision Matty is currently swinging the club, some of the data from reviews a few months ago (e.g. Srixon Z-H85) is becoming incomparable to the data now being generated. I would love to see how the Ping G410 Hybrid stacks up against the likes of Srixon Z-H85 or the Cobra King F9 Speedback Hybrid. Great review! Ping has produced another dynamic and versatile product. Questions - With the distance generated on this hybrid, would Matty have a gapping challenge between a hybrid and his 4 iron? What is the optimal gap between 4i-Hybrid/UDI-3W-1W for someone like Matty?
Thanks for the review. I also have a tendency to overdraw or hook my hybrids. I really don't know why this is so, I always figured it had something to do with my swing. Now I hear that hybrids do tend to hook a bit more. Can someone tell me why? And why a flatter lie angle will make it less 'hooky'? Thanks!
Finally ! . . . a Ping lie fitting like their iron fitting system . . . really looking forward to a fine tuned fitting with their hybrid, fairway wood, and driver . . .
Be great if you could include workability into your reviews , we know in a sense how far they can go but for example as a 10hc id like to know if the new hybrids can go high low draw fade like my older hybrid. Thx.
I'm fortunate not to have any flexibility issues myself, but would definitely recommend consulting with a qualified fitness instructor to work on flexibility and fitness for golf
Great review! Been really interested in the G410 series stuff. I have an 818H hybrid and have it in max fade setting to combat the over draw shot so this now really interests me 🤘🏻
Hey guys, what's a ballpark on a full bag fit with either stock to mid-level shafts? I'm trying to figure out how long I have to save to come to pay you guys a visit.
Another good video I was @ a ping demo last night 19 deg standard lie I was hitting it ok but most of my shots were quite heavy, adjusted to -1 flat & the flights of all the shots improved & dispersion was great no right shots either all on line or a slight draw & distance off between 180 & 185. I was not custom fit but I will be going back to be fitted sooon👍🏌️
As a general statement, would you still consider the g400max to be a more forgiving driver than the Cobra F9? I’m trying to choose between them having tried both, and I’m really struggling to decide. Wondering what your opinion was for a mid handicapper who is improving quite quickly 👍🏻
Thank you. Also I can pick one up cheaper now and the. Get custom fitted into a shaft and still not spend a fortune.... I’m very keen to have a 44.5” shaft so I control it better. One of the reasons I liked the Cobra F9 is because of the tour option that includes a shorter shaft and more weight at the back of the club head.
Yeah it is 3 degrees flat in the "flat setting" don't know why they say 1 degree, guess they are human also.. Human eye can't tell a difference between 1°, but Matty immediately notices the 3° flat setting..
Can you guys do this G410 vs the 818H2? Currently in the Titleist but I don't love the feel... Very firm and clicky. Mayb even Apex hybrid if you get that in?
For me when I’m given a club with a different lie angle I alter my setup to make the club sit flush. To if it’s too upright I tend to lift the handle a bit to keep it flush or if it’s too flat I lower my hands. I can’t just ignore the look and set up the same and have the blade appear to toe down or up. Anyone else you fit do that?
Mr. Robato...a.k.a Matt is going to have some new toys to fully test out on the courses once the snow has gone bye, bye. For now, this is a very "interesting" club. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a "gap fitting" session done once your club fitting has been completed. Hybrids, in my book, have a lot of "utility" hence, diversity of usage, vs a 3-wood. Case in point, long bunker shots; off the fairway in some thick grass, elevated greens when you need to drop the ball in like a boom...etc etc. Our Master Ian has said it many times, (in addition to other club fitters) a 3-wood is the hardest club to fit a person too. Yet, hybrids are not. So in conclusion, if a hybrid can offer the right gap, in a distance that you need to cover...buy it. If not, then the 3-wood upcoming video should be very educational.
Only suggestion is Matt doesn’t hold back just because your afraid of turning it over. A true test is doing your normal swing and the results are what they are
Fantastic review! Thank you. Quick question, I want to buy this as I can gap my loft as compared to my 4 iron and set hybrid to 18 degrees. Should I buy 2 hybrid and loft up 1 or buy 3 hybrid and loft down 1. Not sure if there is a rule of thumb concerning something like this.

I have the G400 in my bag and I love it. No need to make an upgrade to the 410.....yet
No doubt, a mini driver for Matt 😎
And yes, Kudos to Matt the Robot
Great video but how does the hybrid work on the course? I would love to see it in use against the rough, of a bunker, etc.
So if you looked at 3, 4 and 5 hybrid from g410 would you expect a big difference in set up? Could you have completely different set up and shaft? I tried 4 and 5 and hit 5 amazing and 4 went left every time.
I didn't really think that PING could improve their G400 range, but they really look as though they have moved the needle with the G410.
Stop showing Driver ball flights when reviewing a 19° hybrid 🤣
Nice Video as always!
I thought the 'flat' setting is about 3° flatter than normal.
keep up the good work =)
