    I don't quite understand all the hate this adapter is getting online. If it's not for you, no one is forcing you to play with all the settings. Put it at your typical setting and forget it. But if you like to tinker or better yet you go and get fit, this presents the options to dial things in to a finer degree than previously possible. Where's the harm in that??

    • @bloombeards812
      @bloombeards812 12 дней назад +13

      I agree completely! I have seen a lot of tubers hating on this new adapter for some reason which makes no sense. It’s always better to have options that doesn’t mean you have to use them like you said. That’s one of my biggest complaints with my Sim too is when I turn the loft up or down it automatically opens or closes the face. This adapter will allow people to change the loft and lie independently, which for someone like me will help a ton. Actually surprised it took this long for a company to do this. Within the next few years, my bet is that every company will have an adapter where you can change loft and Y angle independently of each Other…

      Their opinions make me chuckle. They’re based on bad golf and zero knowledge on technology. It shows how impressive this stuff is when compared to other loft sleeves that have a quarter of the adjustment. If Ian is this excited about it it’s clearly something rather impressive.

      I think the main issue is that people are concerned some golfers will assume that this will fix all their problems. It won’t. But I agree, if it’s not for you don’t use it. This is an outstanding tool. It is revolutionary the ability to fine-tune your good shots so they're even better why would you not pursue this technology. True there are a lot of golfers out there that aren't consistent enough that this really probably wouldn't make that much of a difference however there are a lot of us who like to hold on to our drivers and as we get better we have the ability to go back on a track man or a GC quad and fine-tune further as our swing changes with time and practice.

  • @stevet.7927
    @stevet.7927 12 дней назад +6

    For me personally, these adapters are a key technology. I'm so sensitive to how the driver looks at address that I've found the look of a driver at my correct loft might not suit my eye so need to find a lower (or higher) lofted driver and then adjust the adapter settings to get the look at address that I like with the proper loft/lie setting. This makes the fitting process essential as well as a good fitter who will take the time to work through this process. In the absence of a good fitter, its a frustrating search for something that takes too much time to figure out to make worthwhile. My only concern about this is if golfers will be able to have these clubs fit in studios who use universal adapters for all of their drivers. Hopefully Club Champion and other brand agnostic studios will all offer a post-fit session to dial in the adapter. If not, then this technology will be vastly underutilized. If Cobra themselves get into the fitting game and offer a dialed-in fitting as part of the sales process, they might have something to differentiate themselves.

    • @ryanokeefe12
      @ryanokeefe12 7 дней назад

      no. Club weights affect cogging forces on the ball at impact... the heel/toe weights also impact face closure speed during the swing.

  • @adammiller4044
    @adammiller4044 11 дней назад

    I feel like this is great for loft and lie adjustments, but lie angle has less of an effect on left/right direction with driver than face angle does. For other adapters that don’t keep the face square (no smartpad) the face can open or close which I think can help more for left/right direction. Those ones aren’t as good if you need a true loft change (since it’s more of a face direction change), but they seem better for the person fighting a slice than a lie adjustment.

  • @mikecoughlin4128

    The way I see this adapter as a high handicapper is I can get the setting that seems to work best for me at the fitting with my current swing. As I hopefully gets better and more consistent I might need a different setting. That scenario could play out several times over the life of the club and my swing. Without this adapter I would be looking a t a new shaft/head or both each time my swing made an incremental improvement.

Wil some of the setting now make those clubs completely the same in certain settings? can a set both up as 9.5 1deg upright and them play just the same?

    • @PiratePenguinFL

Something about the "Smart Pad" flat section on the sole of the driver but this isn't explained further and sounds suspiciously too good to be true - can anyone confirm? Would have been nice if the video illustrated what is actually changing when you move adapter sleeve settings. Fix the head to a stationary point in on the ground and then show us how the sleeve changes move the shaft/grip around.

    It is a magnificent development and definitely an expensive toy to play with. Many of the adjustments are so subtle, and with humans having inconsistent swings people could be playing with this on the course every time they hit a couple of bad shots trying to correct it. And if you have a $1000 auto flex shaft from the previous driver, you cannot put it in this. If someone needs 33 adjustments to try and straighten out their game, they need to just invest a bit of money and go take a few golf lessons and take that part of their game seriously.

      Dy saying that you dont understand the options and how they can help , as a person who ballons a slice, maybe 4/6 setting would help me but a low hooker might need the opposite 4/6 settings. There are 33 to cover all peoples fitting needs. Asa fader I don't need extra help fading, so half the setting are never going to be for me.

    There is not one person on the planet that can benefit from this adapter. These adapters from last year works just fine. The adjustment on this adapter is overkill.
    No way is there a human consistent enough that will see a dramatic change in the settings of this adapter compared to last years adapters.

    Nobody needs this adjustment...99% of the golfers don't deliver the club consistently enough to see any benefit in this.

    Couldn’t disagree more, this technology is change for changes sake. Most amateur golfers, don’t need this level of tinkering. It might be a fitters justification for their existence, but it doesn’t move golf forward one iota. Most fittings are loft, lie,shaft and weight; if this doesn’t suit have lessons

      Don’t “need” it lol it absolutely helps with fittings because two of those parameters you yourself listed as important for fitting were directly linked in lie and loft. Unlinking them is huge for proper fitting.

      They you dont understand currently that to get a loft you want you might end up in a lie you don't.

      Leave the golf knowledge to the subject matter experts. Ian is more knowledgeable than this entire comment section combined. This adapter is game changing. Every fitter has said so. I’m a scratch golfer and find this fascinating and can see the usefulness of those options. If you want to just continue to use the same equipment possibly fighting it be all means go ahead.

      @ i was plus 3 in my youth so can play the game, its fools gold in the wrong hands, fitters will say its great as it justifies their existence

      Huh??? Shame on Cobra??? For innovating an incredible new feature that will help club fitters unlock more performance for golfers. I see zero downside and can’t understand why you would be critical of this.

      Been fitting clubs for many years all this does is confuse the amateur golfer especially the 18 and up handicappers.....

      @@fletch69gmc it’s not a tool for golfers to use on their own. If you’ve fit clubs for that long you can’t be anything but excited about this.

    Love it to get fitted - suspect it makes some of the head adjustability redundant ?? Or is it find a head and shaft combo and this is just tweaks ?
