- PING G410 CROSSOVER reviewed and tested by Mark Crossfield and Dan Hendriksen from Torquay golf club. See what the Ping G410 Crossover could do for your golf game and how it could fit into your golf bag. The new iron like look and 30 gram more weight in the toe is trying to deliver classic looks with high MOI help. Mark and Dan both hit the new Ping Crossover and also compare it to a same loft hybrid to show you what type of golfer might get the most from such a golf club.

I bought the original crossover, love them. Yes they are massive, but give you great confidence over the ball. Downside is if you hit them out of the toe they go violently left, just set up with the ball slightly nearer to the neck. When I first started playing I only had irons for the first year, so that’s what I got used to seeing, so when I got my 1st hybrid (ping g) I found it difficult visually, fine on the range, but little success on the course. So now I have a better swing/strike and more woods the crossover compliments my set. Just a nice gentle smooth swing and they pop up in the air, marvellous !!!! This new model looks very slick, great vid as always
Why did I suddenly get very excited about the g400! That’s right, cheap deals for an excellent club! Oh how I do love the endless remodels 😊
That’s the reason I just bought mizunos
Just finished shoveling the 10" of snow we got this week on top of the 7" we got last week... Only dreaming of golf at this point.
As someone who loves to pound a long iron (due to ego if nothing else) this really appealed to me. Have to check it out.
Thanks Mark. Appreciate your depth in showing how you, Dan and Coach differ in striking styles and some skills sets when it comes to adjusting to club length/loft to meet with good success for you all compared to 99 percent of the golfing world. Dan appeared to pull draw the hybrid while more of a push fade for the iron if I saw the numbers accurately (if not I apologize). I believe your pattern was more consistent in switching from club to club (you didn't change starting direction and shapes as much between the 2) . Not sure why that is but golf's a vexing game,. Always fun and enjoy your content Mark
Love what you and Dan said about "higher handicap better player" looking at the thinner sole; I feel I fall into that category and because I am much more of a sweeper/cleaner picker of the ball, I prefer a less chunky sole and actually find thicc soles less confidence inspiring; because with my current super-game improvement irons, my miss is almost always a chunk and seldom a thin. Great content as always; I will be testing these for sure!
Will be blending this into my i210 set. I hate hybrids. Can't wait.
In the past weak and a half we’ve had -50F, 30F, 8 inches of snow, rain, and thunder and lightning. Just another lovely winter here in Iowa brah!
Very interesting comment made by Dan about tee height with this club. I have the G410 , 2 iron. I have noticed that top spinny shot with too high a tee height. Love hitting this club off the range mat
I just got fitted for the 3 iron and part of the reason I picked it over a hybrid is the height I get with it. Interesting why different players get varying results for these two club options.
Super interesting, I think as a non ping fan the new crossover may be best in class with that launch and forgiving
I used to have a Ping Rapture DI that I did like quite a bit. Never been a fan of the mega chunky G and G400 Crossovers, but this one looks much nicer than both of the previous Crossovers and the Rapture. Might have to give it a try, although it will be too expensive down here to put in the bag until they hit the second hand market.
Mark...Mark...Mark...that’s not snow!!! You need to be here in the US (Detroit)..we have about 12” on the ground and temps have been a -20 F (-30 C) the last few days...☃️🌬
Lived in Metro Detroit (Farmington) some years ago. Man!!, those Michigan winters are fierce.
Why would he want to be in that awful weather? Come to California and play golf all year round.
Arthur Mooney - you were just down the road from me!!
shrimpflea.... wouldn’t want to take the chance of falling into the ocean one day 😂😂
I have just taken out my hybrid and have now got a gapr low 2 iron very happy not having the snap hook from the hybrid now a little cut 👍
Just got the G410 2 iron...coming from someone that had the Rapture 2 iron...I can't wait to hit this one...Just glad Ping made an option for us lefties...
Elisha McKinley how is the Ping G410 2 Crossover? I am a 16 handicap and thinking about this club
Love the look of the new G410 crossover
Never been much of a hybrid fan. That being said, I have taken my 3 iron out of the bag this past year and replaced with an Epic 3 hybrid. So far, a smart move for me!
I tried a driving iron a few years ago, and I ended up buying a cavity backed 20 degree Cobra 4 iron for $75 that did the job just fine. Got good distance with it and hit it straight as an arrow off the tee which is what I bought it for.
When I changed clubs the 3 iron was dropped as an option & the hybrid went in, I don't think I'll go to a crossover but I have to say this one looks better than most.
I have the original g crossover 3 and it's one of the best clubs in my bag. When trying hybrids I had a similar pattern to Dan, hooked more than a plastic duck. I'd seen the crossover, wasn't really interested in it on the shelf, it was the last hybrid I tested and resisted at first, but on the floor I loved the flat face and it just worked.
I like the look of this club quite a lot I actually have a ping G 400 crossover 3. I do not have good success with hybrids. The G 400 crossover has been a great addition to my set. But I do like the way the G 410 looks thinner.
Dan's swing is like butter, silky smooth.
Oh Mark! I love watching your vlogs, but let’s not start off this one by pretending that’s snow. 20 to 30 cm here this week and we’ve avoided most of it! Looking forward to watching the rest of the review now 😃
Ok watched the video now. I like the comparison to the hybrid. Not sure I’d game that but always appreciate being shown something different to think about. Also, poor Dan is now second guessing everything! You broke him Mark!!
Love the addition of some comparative data.
Nice club. Still gaming my 21 deg Adams Pro DHY. Can’t beat it.
It looks like something I would like. I have a Ping Rapture 2 iron that fits , distance wise between my G400 3 and 4 hybrids. It gives me a low punchy shot if I want it ( particularly out of trees !!) but it does feel heavy compared to the hybrids.
Just picked up a mint 410 4 crossover from eBay. It will be here on Sat.
I play with a rescue and a 2 iron. The reason being on my course at Tiverton there are loads of trees and I find I can shape shots with the 2 iron out of the trees and get good distance down the fairway. The rescue I use off the fairway and semi. I've considered changing the 2 iron for another rescue as I do not go into the trees as much lately. When playing links courses a second rescue would be worthwhile and the benefits of the 2 iron would be lost.
Have recently ordered the 2iron crossover brah. Tried hybrid and couldn't hit it consistently and felt weird. The crossover just felt right almost like a extension of my arms. It also went long and straight which as a relatively new player I was looking for. Also being a Ping club I can get it to match my Ping Irons straight from manufacturer.
Just waiting for the call to say it is ready to collect so I can get it in the bag,
How lucky was that Mark. Just happened to have a Titleist Hybrid laying around to compare. If you want to do it again I have a Taylormade R15 I could send ya brah.
Mark, maybe a better compare would have been with the new G410 hybrid that can be set 'flatter' to help Dan? I have hit both side by side, both are great sticks! The Crossover was slightly lower vs. the hybrid. Comes down to what you want the club to do to help make a choice.
Never mind the crossover, I want Henrik Danielson's pullover quarterzip with the Tourqay shoulder patch!
Easy! Last year I saw him using a Torquay head cover, and after looking around their website, just emailed them. Dan the Man himself responded, and he took care of everything! Even shipped to America. It was for my friend's birthday, but I had to get one for myself too 😂
Really like the looks.. May have to give it a try
Another great review, my ditch my 3 Hybrid for one of these. Just can't hit a hybrid at all. Keep hooking them for some reason. Crossover appeals more to the eye for me.
this is literally me. I know this is a year after your comment but just found these vids researching the club. I cannot hit my hybrid to save my life. it's either the biggest snap hook ever seen, it's VIOLENT, or it's a nice little draw that pops way up and and goes a mile. Nothing in between, have to alter my swing drastically to get it to hit nicely and it just feels all wrong at address and during the swing. Absolutely hate my 3 hybrid 18'. My normal shot is a high fade and this thing is the inverse at best and horrible hook normally.
Enter the golf shop today and they had a bargain bin demo Ping G410 2 crossover 17'...... What is this thing I wondered.....I've been hitting my 4i as my tee shot almost exclusively and loving it (TM Burner 4i 21'). Anyways the demo was in the bargain bin so I asked to hit a few with it. THIS IS THE CLUB I'VE BEEN DREAMING OF. Can't wait to play with it. Smashed 20 balls at the range off the mat nice and straight, great carry, with a couple practice stingers that worked well. On paper this is the perfect replacement to fill the gap before my driver and 3w. I'm elated so far
You ever ditch that hybrid? Long live the long irons!
I would use it as 2 iron off the Tee on a windy day or on a links course would be interested to see you guys hit it in such conditions
Ping over my cross! That's a good looking finish on that club head! I like that it looks like an iron. I still play a bladey running bird MP-33 3 iron... One of my favorite clubs, but I also play semi-regularly so my strike tends to be decently consistent. Great stuff though!!!
Still play 33s aswell here ! 2-pw , the 2 & 3 off a small tee are surprising easy to strike and easy to launch
Love the videos...Now for the Question! LOL Would not the G410 series (generally this category of clubs) be more suited to people with slower swing speeds (65-75mph) ? My reasoning is that i play every weekend with men 50-90 years old, (yeah 90!) their avg drivers are 165-185 yds. My swing speed is 105-110 Driver 250-270 avg total.
Is the test skewed by not having a slow person testing? Say your daughter. if she hits her current set (7i) equal club at 75mph would she see gains hitting the g410?
just trying to understand. Thank you for your time
Was a bit surprised at the outcome of this review. Mark loved the original Ping G crossover (the black one he tested as a 4 iron replacement) and even commented that the 3 iron equivalent could go in the bag as a replacement for his power hybrid (pre-titlest days). I think the G400 crossover was as chunky as the G and I bought one as I struggle with hybrids
Have Ping got it wrong with this update in making it less chunky and more like an iron?
Remember the other is still available as we state. 👍👍
hybrid all the way- and I like long irons and play them OK, but hybrids have much more versatility from rough and bad lies, 3 4 and 5 now. This year may drop the 3 in favour of an old small headed 5 wood I have which i can shape better
For me I have always struggled with hybrids being more upright I would tend to turn it over but the crossover is easier to hit straighter. But I don’t really see the ping crossover sitting in the 410 family for me it is more like the i500 clubs but I suppose it’s the timing of it that they have called it that. The fact that they do it in a 2 iron as well first time for a while that ping have done that
I really struggle with normal hybrids (mental thing?), but love the crossovers (I've got the black Gs). These new ones look lovely. Oh to be rich.
Angle of attack is what should tell if its hybred or crossover for most people i think
A conundrum on changing clubs. I play with a set of Titleist DCIs that I have had since 199......... I play off 13 and I am thinking of getting a bit more help in my aging years (60 in March) from newer technology. I would like to get some tracking data on my present clubs and then compare this to some "new" clubs to see if it is worth the expense of changing them. Is this possible? Who would do this? Any recommendations?
Hi Mark, I have a question for you on shafts. Why do they measure length in imperial and weight in metric?
Hard to beat the look, feel and performance of my 3 & 4 718 TMB irons. They are super consistent so even if something else is longer it’s not worth it
Hi Mark, I have got a question, why do you and Dan prefere a flater iron? Just wondering what is the resoan behind it.
Sunny here in Hawaii brah! 🤙🏼🤙🏼 Ping has been killing it lately!!! I’m interested in those to replace my Hogan HI utility. Mahalo for the great review!
Great vid. Speedy recovery MC. I love the look of this club so much in fact I ordered one already. Should blend in with my set of i500’s easily.
Another top video Mark and Dan, keep them coming. I'm currently working on the top end of my bag, and looking at different hybrid/crossover/fairway wood combinations to give me as many options on the course as possible. Any thoughts on 18 degree hybrid vs fairway? I know you carry a power hybrid and Dan loves his 5 wood. Is it just personal preference? Cheers bruh!
Thanks Mark and Dan for another great review - how would this compare to say a i500 long iron?
Mark, can I get those Your Golf Travel/Puttout sweaters somewhere in the US?
I’m am a fan of my 4 iron but I feel more comfortable with my 3/4 rink-dink and its a better flight. Higher and longer amazing on a par 5
Great job as always fellas. PING Blueprint iron review soon?!
Oh yes
I still play the old Nike Pro Combo utility iron... very similar.
Been looking to try a driving iron
Really struggling with my hybrids. Like the look of that Crossover, much less massive than the previous two.
Question for ya Mark. If you fancy the hybrids so much, why not substituting your 5 iron for a hybrid? Cheers bra!!
Mark, have you guys tested TM gpr?
poor dan looks scared to answer question now haha great stuff lads
good honest review , great
does this not sit in the same product window as the i500
Will you be reviewing the srixon or cobra driving irons? I’m looking to add one in to compliment my hybrid.
Hey cross can you do a review on seven and nine woods versus your rinky dinks?
Make a video about MOI!! Very interesting
Dan nearly back on the naughty step, check those numbers 😂
Hi Mark. Can you review the Pinhawk single length irons? Have you aver heard of them. Anyways, good job.
Oh my. Get up Mark!!!!
I think it looks great but I would stick with my hybrids.
Why does Dan hit the crossover way higher vs hybrid?
5:27 The "hybrid vs driving iron" thing again! We already know the answer depends on the ball flight you want or need and you prefer a hybrid. It would be better served to compare the Crossover with a similar driving iron. The hybrid vs driving iron comparison is like comparing two different vehicles an SUV vs a pickup truck. Which is better? Well, it depends on what you intend to do with them.
The offset on the new one looks much better. The original "G" Crossover has an obscene amount.
Good review session but hybrid for me every time!
Did you build snowman ⛄ Great looking club. I could use it but im more hybrid player. Too slow 😟
I think were it not for rescue clubs I would have given the game up. Utility and crossover irons give me the heebeegeebees
Srixon ZU Iron Look alike, and in my view the Srixon looks a better driving iron
To me it blends more with the i500 line.
Hey Mark, I know it’s a rocky relationship, but! Any chance you could review the TM M5 irons? Lack of reviews, I know not why and really value your opinion over everyone’s. :) Thanks in advance. Brah! keep up the great content.
TM don’t respect my audience enough to let me share an opinion on their products. Sorry bruh. Plenty of good clubs out there that won’t de value at the speed TM does. 👍👍 In my opinion
Hey, look over there ... it’s a Crossfield with a crossover 🙃 Once again great stuff boys! #hybridplayaa
Seems more like a driving utility or driving iron than hybrid
Thats coz it is
Not wishing to be contentious but higher handicap players shouldn’t avoid this,,, as a driving iron. Had one now for a couple of weeks, can I hit it off the deck, absolutely no way, but as a trouble/tight hole driving iron for a 20 plus handicapper it is a God send. Off a high ish tee (blue castle type) its flight is much better than its predecessor the G400 crossover, and I’m finding it way more accurate than a lofted fairway or traditional hybrid. Horses (or should that be clubs) for courses but if you have gorse (as I do) or tight tree lined fairways where off line is at least a 2 shot impediment then trust me, give something like this a try. I would be lying to say I have nailed every shot with it, but in 6 rounds I have yet to hit it in to trouble and I recon it has been worth at least a couple of shots per round
Can u hit a stinger with this club?
Dan almost said something but saw dad in the back grown starting to put a chair in the corner for timeout then dan quickly became Shultz on the Hogan’s hero’s and said I know nothing 😂 just love the content on anything you muppets do.
New 'lumpy' for Matt
Love the reviews but, ah how about those new PRO Vsssss. I’m sure your working on it. 👍🏻👍🏻
Interesting exactly who this club would appeal to.Ping stats hat their Crossovers are not specifically meant to be driving irons. Can't really see how anyone playing Ping g400 or 410 would get better numbers, and or ease of use from this model. So I guess Ping is aiming for customers who play their tour line, rather than the game improvement line. Lastly, would think this may get confusing for prospective buyers just on looks alone, or someone coming off previous Crossover models.
WE BACK!
Looks like a g700 no?
Here, we have 3-4 feet of snow.. Don't complain 😜😜
Pity, Crossfield with a Crossover would have a nice ring to it on muppet tour vlogs!
I just don't see the benefit of a crossover other than people who don't like the look of a hybrid or feel there's a high handicap stigma attached to a Hybrid. Having seen Pros play hybrids. I don't feel that way. I'll stick to a good Hybrid. Which is really helpful out of the rough.
I can’t stand hybrids and fairway woods. Always hated them. I’m at the point where I’m about to ditch my 3wood and replace it with my TM GAPR Mid and add a wedge to the bag. These clubs interest me a lot. I’ve always been an iron player so bulge and roll off the deck always messes with me.
Can’t hit a hybrid for the life. I carry a 1 iton
Not sure why they stuck the G410 name on it, the styling looks more like some of their blade offerings to me....
HAHAHA! 'after my recent telling off'! Too bad Coach wasn't there to get an earful too. He got a separate 'telling off' I reckon.
Mark
I’m 17 handicap and any club will be ok, strike overrides all this sales nonsense. The human element is king.
Should have branded it i500
Gimme a 2 Iron in the G410
10:00 Well, Ihave to say it... Get up Mark ;-)
It looks more like a fat version of their stunning Blueprint blades that they’ve been teasing on Instagram lately
Man, when you are in your office, those green circles - probably from a desk lamp fluorescent bulb - reflecting on your glasses are quite distracting. For me, anyway ...
