Thank You, I made these yesterday, I did dehydrate for 8 hours, and they turned out perfect!!
Great video. My pup loves these. Thanks for sharing. Anxious to try making myself!!
yay! I hope he loves them!
Lol@ " you can have...its for you" good stuff great vid kiddo.
lol thanks for watching!
Best instructional videos.......will give it a go this weekend!
Let me know how it goes!
My dog love yak chews, can't wait to try this recipe
Such a quality video deserve more views
Thank you!
Squoze! Hahaha, that made me LOL 😄 Thank you very much for the recipe and tutorial!
I am making it right now. I have read from other sources that the re-boil you describe helped curds form. We shall see!
I hope your dog loves it!
@@SimplyOrganize I know she will! She chews voraciously and loves the commercial Himalayas but they are expensive! I have it under pressure now. I got lg rubbery curds by not stirring too much and putting heat back on for a few minutes. Is rubbery the consistency you get? They came together with squeezing and I think the pressure will help
@@arribaficationwineho32- I can answer this because I have made farmers cheese in the past. The recipe is the same until you start the drying process. Yes, it's rubbery.
@@christines2787 the dogs LOVED them of course but ate them much more quickly than the commercial chews. All that work gone in 15 minutes! I used a LOT of pressure and even dried them in the oven
@@christines2787 forgot to add that I used a stainless pot and milk stuck to the bottom terribly. I cleaned it….with effort!
Cheers going to make these!.
Can you substitute the pink Himalayan salt with a healthy salt like Celtic sea salt or Baja gold salt. Pink Himalayan salt has lead and other bag metals in it.
Gonna try these, thank you ❤️
I hope your dog enjoyed them!
Wondering why you wouldn't use whole milk as there are more milk solids in it. It likely won't have so much whey to through away.
Can’t wait to try this!!
I hope your dog loves them!
Have you added flavors yet? I saw a company selling strawberry, blueberry and pumpkin.
I tried this today and my cheese curds were crumbly and rubbery. Any advice on what I did wrong or how to fix please? Thank you!
I wonder if you added some spices that are OK for dogs to have and maybe a little bit of chicken or beef bullion in the freeze dried /crystal form so that you’re not adding additional fluid to the milk if it would make a difference to the dog wanting it?
Can you use hole milk??
Does regular milk work
Thank you for doing this video and the recipe details. I did find that nonfat milk works better than 2%
You may have answered my question what did the higher fat milk do?
@Kati_k_kuriosz it was harder to get the moisture out with higher fat content. The non fat milk was much easier to dry out. I actually switched to using non fat cottage cheese from Costco as it skips a step and you still get a good result.
Why would you throw away all that butter milk?
Have you tried making flavored ones?
So I just tried this recipe and after baking them for the amount of time they still seemed a bit squishy towards the middle and not hard and long lasting like they should be. I then tried letting them cook for MUCH longer but they didn’t seem to change much at all. Is this normal? And if so then when did they harden like they should?
After I finished filming, I also realized I had a similar issue. Which means they need to be refrigerated or frozen so they don't mold. I would continue to dehydrate them and check in every 30-45 minutes
I have similar issues anyone got them rock hard?
I know not everyone has a dehydrator, but I think that method would work best. I think baking them causes the outside to harden too quickly therefore not allowing the core to dry out as effectively....I am going to try this weekend.
Throwing the whey down the sink was a waste! Use it in Smoothies. It’s super nutritious
Tell us more how much you would use in a Smoothie and any tips.
@@deborc2705 you could use the whey in the same quantity you would use any other liquid in your smoothie, use it in place of milk or juice or water . It’s full of protein and other macro nutrients. Some almond butter in your smoothie is also healthy and delicious
Can I make them with full fat goats milk ?
If the oven and the dehydrator are at the same temp, why both?
the oven is a contained heat and the dehydrator is very well ventilated, I think they "cook" differently!
I’m trying this
I hope your dog loves them!
@@SimplyOrganize I can’t believe it never dawned on me to check RUclips for these. My 3 dogs favorite. That gets pricey!
I make yogurt, cheese, paneer... why this never clicked 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
@@marthaross6301 I hope they love them!
@@SimplyOrganize We shall know tomorrow. I’m pressing the curd now....
This will be amazing as these are in their top 3 favorites
Isn't salt a problem with dogs...especially with heart problems? Can't we skip salt?
I think the salt allows the milk to curd
Salt is also a dehydrator and it’s really not that much salt
my curds didnt form! help
mine didn't at first either, I had to increase the heat for an extended period of time
Hi I tried five times with 3.25%milk& silk milk. After I heated them in the oven/air fryer/dehydrator, they all dried with lots of air inside, the dog just eat them in one minutes. How could we harden them like a real yak chew in the film? Thank you very much!
Why don’t you try skim milk?
How do you store this chews?
In the fridge for up to 5 days, or in the freezer for storage up to 3 months
@@SimplyOrganize Thanks! I just made it and turned out really good.
@@Chelsea_and_Erica wonderful! so glad :)
Did you waste all those end pieces?
cooking!
I'm thinking your dog may have cavities so maby soak in water for 5 minutes then put in the microwave for about 45 sec
no cavities, she's all good!
we sell dog chew from nepal #organic
I had to slow the video down to .75 to understand you, you're so fast!
oh goodness! I feel like I talk so slow sometimes!
I speeded up the video. lol
Try to say it faster :(
