Well yeah not every rotary weapon is the GAU-8 30mm The M134 is a 7.62mm which is obviously a smaller caliber than pistols which are usually in the 9/10mm area. The deciding factor is the cartridge size which dictates the amount of propellant for the projectile and thus velocity and penetration ability. Even though it’s a sci-fi weapon the charge mini gun could shoot 2mm projectiles accelerated to 1500m a second and outperform conventional firearms for sheer armor piercing value.

normally in combat extended if you shoot someone with, say, power armour, and the armour absorbs all the damage the armour is damaged itself, eventually destroying it. with mechs their insane toughness comes from their natural defense so you have to use a weapon which can penetrate the armour of mechanoids since the armour will never get weaker.
I love CE but this natural defence mechanic is stupid. You can put 1 megapede versus entire tribal and medieval settlements and the megapede wins every time. Even with "Ignorance is bliss", insects always come and destroy my tribal playthroughs.
@@OrdinBeta yeah i dont use combat extended because of that, also micromanaging all the ammo would be a pain not to mention having to make sure i got compatibility patches for every single one of my weapon mods. its all a bit too much of a bother for something not absolutely essential for me
What CE brings to the table is essential, but the game isn't balanced around it. Thanks to that VE Mechanoid mod will always make sure that you will die. The only reliable way i found is to use a 90mm HEAT shells. One hit kill, but with the colony wealth of over 100k you always get more targets then you can shoot. Plus their weapons obliterate any pawn without power armor (which I haven't yet seen, in a 4 year old colony) only answer is to either bring more guns, or use arty, and there is still no guarantee that the fragments will pen.
Idea for next series, a Rum Island-like playthrough, except instead of an island, you build a Hive. Basically Kowloon Walled City, with z-levels and all. I think it would be cool :)
Yes ! It's a must have to me, still have to force clean some rooms here and there but nothing is insanely dirty and disgusting anymore. You can also use the carpet mod and the small & large garbage bins from one the Vanilla furniture expended too !

100 colonists with 12 or higher plant skill. Have them all in one caravan and they can sustain themselves on the berries they forage in forest biomes. Everytime they are ambushed. Charged miniguns, charge miniguns everywhere.

Yeah, I feel like RimWorld and it's combat mods severly neglect the shock and force caused by weapons like that, an example would be shooting someone in the head with a bulletproof helmet with an anti-tank rifle, if the bullet doesn't go through the compression waves will still liquify their brain
XL Stacks (at least one I'm using) is highly customizable. Default values are fkn bonkers, I strongly recommend pumping em down. Also if that's not your cup of tea, why just not LWM's Deep Storage mod? You DO REALISE it doesn't increase your stacks, just adds a buncha crap you can build that pawns will haul stuff into? Better shelves, pallettes, food trays, weapon lockers, clothing racks, meat hooks, food barrels? All as well highly customizable and highly restrictive without some tinkering? Like, most storage units have insane weight limits, weapon locker being my fav, by default configured to store I think 10 weapons weighing like, collectively 10kg tops. Now look at weights of all weapons, weight of a single minigun. Yep. Can't even store one minigun in said locker. Which I guess is realistic, but naah, screw that. That's why I'm thankful it's so highly customizable as well.
please do one last one do 50 people with Anti tank snipers and AP and HE Rounds , you can and will melt everything , i had colony that I had 1 rule to recruit people Trigger-happy , They most likely miss but they shoot soo fast and deal soo much damage that when I had 20 colonists I could deal with 20 centipedes and 100 raiders without getting lost anyone and without using killboxes
@@ShacolateClown Rimworld does use one core only and its entire reason why this game runs like crap on even slightly bigger colony and pawn count. Rocketman slightly improves tps and fps count, Rimthreaded ( incompatbile with Rocketman ) adds multicore support but its buggy as hell and tends to lead to crashes. And Tynan is a lazy bum that releases shitty DLC's instead of fixing the biggest flaw of the game.
Get Achtung! You can simply right click hold and drag people into shooting lines, imagine a double line of 60+ people set to snapshot full auto 😍

Mech armour will get weaker in CE cuz attack also deliver blunt dmg and it will chip off mech hp little by little

Its a chore but assigning each pawn to only few dedicated jobs help a lot with the game stuttering
since all your deaths are from friendly fire you could probably have reduced casualties by just sending less pawns to any given fight
