    Would love to see some accessories for those machines.
    My neighbour had a miniature saw for his steam engine which was able to saw sticks.

      The only accessory I could find online is a small dc power generator.

    That's a well made boiler and engine. I'd bet it would be easy to set up an old electric motor as a generator to do some lights. I see it has an empty groove on it's pulley for such things.

    • @AJRestoration
      @AJRestoration  8 месяцев назад

      It will have to be a small dc motor. BUT I think it can be done haha

    I just got this as a Christmas gift. Do you recommend using any thread lock on the nuts and bolts? Great video. I will be using as a reference as I build mine.

    Is the governor belt on the correct part of the flywheel.? Eyeing it up, it looks out of line where you placed it.

    • @AJRestoration
      @AJRestoration  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes this is the correct placement according to the manual. In real life its pretty straight.

    You should put one of those bicycle tire dynamo's on it, to make electricity so you can listen to the "wireless" when there is load shedding 😂

    • @AJRestoration
      @AJRestoration  8 месяцев назад

      It might not have enough power, It will have to be a small dc motor. BUT I think it can be done haha, beat loadshedding with a small steam engine.

    What did you use for fuel?

      @@keitholiver341 I used methylated spirits for this one. Alternatively I use rubbing alcohol.

    Very interesting spitting steam engine LOL. I could stare at that thing the whole day. Very nice. Did you remove the plate on the burners cause I saw it there when you first tested it and then after it ran nicely, I noticed that the plate was gone. Nice job. See you in the next one.

    • @AJRestoration
      @AJRestoration  8 месяцев назад +2

      Yes that plate restricted the airflow alot, so I removed it.

      @@AJRestoration good idea, when mine comes ill probably drill some holes into it so there is still a shield but will also have airflow

    almost everyone makes the same mistake, they don't let the pressure build up and keep the faucet open.

    It’s not cosmetic enough, not something you’d want on your desk , your friends won’t be amazed……. Real model steamers are really clean from use, this is a bit dirty….. still this is probably not straight from the box…….

    It's too cosmetic .....something to sit on the desk and amaze your friends.......real model steamers are grimy and worn from use ....this is too shiny and immaculate.......OK, so it's still fresh from the box.
