Oh my god I do this too! I figure it's broken already so why not take it apart and see how it works. Sometimes like you I've actually fixed things! Glad I found a kindred spirit.

Brilliant work! Nice attention to detail (food safe silicone grease, vinegar, cautions about o-rings, etc.).

Thanks, needed this! I didn't realize I could just pull the buttons off to slide out the internals and fix the valve. Now its greased up and works like new.

A set of reamers for carburetors works wonders for cleaning small openings in faucets. It is ~20 stainless wires of varying gauge useful to clean orifices. The set is inexpensive. Nice vid!

One comment: My Simplice sprayer has a different design requiring a pin scanner wrench to unthread the diffuser end. A pair of needle-nose pliers work well to disassemble and then re-assemble the sprayer. A soak overnight in white vinegar and then some clean with an old toothbrush, cotton swabs, and toothpicks cleaned everything up. No parts needed replacement. My sprayer works like new now, not like the ten years old that it is.

instead of dismantling how about just putting it all in vinegar and see how far that goes
its always more than interesting to see how things work since one understand the physics of things around them to get a general estimate if things are easily enough to fix.
Just like how some people throw out a $1000 lawn mower and all was needed was the carburetor clean. A powerful pc and all that was needed was a reinstallation of os. Or a Fridge and all is needed is a $10 component for a $1000 fridge.

    Those spouts are too complicated.
At 0:14, you show your wrench grasping the aerator, presumably on two flats. My faucet's aerator has no flats. (Model 596-CP). I bought the faucet less than two weeks ago, in Nashua, NH.

Thanks! Mine luckily had the wrench flats. I think most of Kohler’s new aerators need a key for installation and removal. 😎

Why don’t you just call Kohler and they will replace it free of charge. They have replaced mine three times. Right now they are sending me a new replacement hose with the sprayer free.
You should not have to do what you are doing and it still has a chance of not working right. And the cost.
