- Here is an album by my father I never thought I would hear. It was a You tube post by someone. My mother had told me this was one of the only times we didn't travel with my father. She said she thought he did an album in Australia when he went there. Well here it is. It was a terrible recording but I've done the best I can with it. Enjoy. Aloha, Evan
Amazing, I live in Sydney, Australia and I used to play bass with the drummer on this record Jimmy Shaw. I also played with the pianist Terry Wilkinson. Terry has passed away. Jimmy Shaw is still alive, I just rang him and told him I heard this record. He is very old and hard of hearing but understood.
xcellent all around. Thanks for effort. Your dad's riips are well worth listening to and the arrangements and others are quite good.
This is "Making Whoopie"! :D Love what your dad did with it! It sounds like he was a very talented improviser. I really admire and respect that in a player. It does not come naturally to me (maybe due to classical training for too many years before I tried jazz?), so people like your dad fascinate me. So glad someone posted this and you found it!
