I am the previous owner of this wagon. I took great care of it! You got a great deal! That rear-end whine was there when I purchased it, and I drove it for 20k miles waiting for it to get worse. Never did...
I say keep both cars for 60 days and eventually you will realize which suits your needs better. You have to get over the initial excitement of the new CTS-V and that will take time. If you don't want to wait then I say sell the Tesla, drive the CTS-V for 2 years and then either get another Tesla or what ever else you find interesting at that time. I really like the channel and look forward to every new video. You, Peter and Max make a great team and I like how you get into the details on diagnosing and fixing the problems as they arise.
At least the slick top roof will never give you leaks, rattles, broken motor, broken sunshade, and it weighs about 50lbs less where you really don’t want that weight

I got a big kick out of Peter breaking into a big smile every time Alex hit the accelerator! It was almost like they were connected! Fun episode with some of my favorite creators interacting. Too much fun!
I love how Peter’s smile is directly proportionate to Alex’s foot on the accelerator. Literally, when Alex backs off, Peter’s smile disappears. When Alex gooses it, Peter is ear to ear! Hahaha!!!
I'm 50/50 on this one, on one side I'm excited for new content, on the other side I think its just gonna make it harder for him to finish all his other projects. Tavarish vibes.
I really REALLY want to tell you to daily the CTS-V, but in Chicago winter you're probably better off with the Tesla. You could have a summer DD and a winter DD.... Love the video. Keep the hits coming! It was great to see the whole gang on the road trip! Edit: I bought an '05 C55 AMG 2 years ago because of Alex/LSC. M113 life!
Peter booting the car while you guys were trying to edit was the funniest part. Not because it surprised you - more because you're both like "what are you doing - whats wrong with you?" while he's laughing his a55 off. Classic car guy stuff.
I have a 2011 V Wagon as well. Congrats on the purchase! Before you add any boost, make sure you get the intercooler brick reinforced. Factory boost is around 7-9 PSI. Anything more, the brick can collapse into itself. 14 City/18 Hwy is about right, which is why I sometimes call mine the "Thirsty Girl". I added a Navtool Apple Carplay/Android Auto box to work with the factory head unit to bring it sort of up to date with technology. Before you commit to the Recaro seats, go find someone who has them and sit in them. They're supportive, but pretty stiff for a long road trip.
Alex and crew - I love the channel. It is a Saturday morning ritual to wake up, get a cup of coffee and watch the newest upload while I'm home with the kids and the wife goes for groceries. I have a 2013 ZL1 with the LSA - a few things to note with these engines. 1. They get horrible mileage no matter what. My car is a max effort stock bottom end build with 765 rwhp on E85 and it gets 7mpg on E and about 10mpg on 93 and meth. Lambda is 1.0, it doesn't matter....just the way roots blown LS engines are. 2. Check to make sure the intercooler brick inside the supercharger lid is reinforced. The end tanks tend to crush under boost even at factory levels which causes high IAT2s and can even leak. 3. Get a catch can, the inside of the supercharger gets DISGUSTING from all the blow by. 4. A good port on the blower from a reputable company really opens these cars up. Get the Kong X-Port and make sure you have enough fueling to support it. Lastly, enjoy the car, they are alot of fun.
This is perfectly stated and couldn’t be more true. I lost Dad a few years back-he was a car mechanic-watching these videos makes me think we’re sitting next to each other on the couch then getting under the hood together. These guys are where it’s at!
I was at a tire shop and pretty much the only truck tires they stocked were those LandGolden ones. I was skeptical, but people were there that previously had more expensive tires and were now on their 2nd and 3rd sets of the LandGolden and swore by them.
I love my v wagon and daily it for the last 40000 miles it’s had the slight rear end whine since I got it I just change the fluid often. There is a site online that actually now has a bearing kit for the rear end so you don’t have to do the whole rear diff!
As an owner of a 830HP V2 Sedan, you’re going to love this car! Comfort and brutal power is the best combo. Mine has the same exhaust setup and it’s perfect! It always surprises people!
I'm from Missouri and that's Cranes country store. We call those thumb print sandwiches. That store has been around forever and it's kind of a historical gem.
I think as awesome as the Tesla is that CTS-V is absolutely beautiful, amazing and awesome and then considering all the things you can still do to it to get more power out of it, it’s a no brainer. When will you possibly come across another one like this? Even though it’s been repaired as you seen when you had it in the air there’s nothing wrong with it. You did well getting the Cadillac and I definitely think you should keep it as your daily! You won’t regret it. The tesla I know would be great on those long trips and where the car can actually drive you. But there’s nothing like being in control of 600/650 rear wheel horsepower. “Keep the Cadillac please!”.
For the LSA if you run flex fuel you will probably need to add a DSX Aux fuel pump or replace the twin pumps with higher volume pumps.. you probably close to max on the pumps now depending on pulley size.. you won’t necessarily need to run more boost .. but you’ll pick up 50whp these cars love E85.. I have full bolt on ported blower ZL1 did the work myself for credentials purposes
Air Raid Intake with green filter and green belt ,E85,2.55 upper pulley, 1050 ID injectors, headers and exhaust, ice tank, walboro 450 fuel pump same build as my brothers V and hes making 650-700 RWHP
Hey Alex, I'd say keep both if you can afford it and have the space. If it's either/or ditch the Tesla. That's an amazing wagon. This is coming from someone that has an 06 300C SRT8 and an 09 Grand Cherokee SRT8 both of which have the 6.1 Hemi and the Mercedes Nag1 transmissions. Really nice older stuff is hard to find. Good luck with your decision. Cheers!
On the loving of large vans, my first vehicle was a 1988 Chevy G20 Conversion van pulled from the woods after 6 years of sitting. We bought it in 2002, and when my dad passed we had 4 vehicles, so we sold some and gave that to our cousins in upstate NY. That's where it sat for 6ish years until i resurrected it in 2012/2013 when i started to drive. Forever love big body vehicles
Get the intercooler brick reinforced before adding any additional mods to the car. Going E85 on the current setup you’ll get another 60-80WHP but you’ll need to see what injectors are currently in the car and may need more fuel pump also. If you want to add more boost look into a larger lower pulley to keep belt slip to a minimum. Lastly having a lack of sunroof makes it a rarer spec. I myself own a manual wagon, slick top (sunroof delete) and couch cushion (non-Recaro) spec and love it.
You guys are by far my favourite channel on RUclips and Alex we know you're gonna go for the CTS V 😂. It's like you said, we only have a few more years to enjoy cars like these so may as well make some memories with the CTS V.
I had an 09 CTS-V sedan and I can say this much...repairing/replacing mundane parts like headlight bulbs is absolutely a trainwreck. Also, plan on replacing the driveshaft carrier bearing and wheel bearings more than once. The seats aren't cooled, they're ventilated (when the option is present). Also, be glad you don't have the panoramic roof because the drains get clogged OFTEN and soak the C pillar fabric. Aside from those things, you're in for a treat. Mag ride is amazing.
what a crew, you guys are a perfect match to make great content, i drive a van my self so i see why you like them, they are just really practical for pretty much everything
keep CTSV stock looking from outside - no need to lower that. An active exhaust might be a cool idea - so you can have a quiet kind of sleeper wagon to drive with kids etc and open it up when needed to have fun.
Yes, I too have an affinity for large vans, particularly conversion vans. The best story was when my son, 3 years old at the time, started singing cho-mo van, cho-mo van, at Target...
Dude! The Tesla is an appliance with no soul, the Cadillac is a statement and has the most beautiful super charger noise. The choice is simple, the vehicle that you feel most connected to the road in is the best choice. Love this video and absolutely loving all the series you have currently going. LSC is always #1
How is the channel not over 1 million subs yet? Best channel on RUclips. I can watch Alex and Peter the same way I can watch Hoovie and The Wizard......all day long
Alex , you have one of the best channels on RUclips ! You, Peter and Max are a great crew and I’m not surprised to see you hanging with Car Wizard and Hoovie ! All of the cream seems to rise to the top together. As far as having the Cadillac for a daily driver , I would really think a little harder about that . I’m semi retired and have a 2017 regular cab , short box Silverado 4x4 for my daily driver. I also own a 1969 Camaro Z-28 and a 2006 Corvette . If I were in your shoes and had that Tesla for my daily driver, I wouldn’t switch to the Cadillac. I don’t think the price of gas will ever go down with all the car manufacturers trying to go electric in the next few years !
government motors may be pushing for ev's, but outside big government lots of car companies are pushing for a healthy mix of ice, ev, other tech and a more gradual shift.
The dreamteam ride home was awesomely fun! Peter looking for any excuse to smash the pedal to the metal 😂😂😂 Awesome car, not sure if it's daily material with that milage though 😅
We have a family friend with a little wild child who is like the mini version of Peter. Not only does he look like Peter, I see all kinds of mannerisms come through the same, the way he smiles and laughs and walks... He is like a micro doppelgänger!
Those paddle shifters are supposed to be held on with 3M tape. The kit comes with tape preinstalled, but a couple piece of 3M's double sided adhesive cut to fit would do fine to hold those on. Mine have been in my car for months without an issue and they work a lot better than hoovie claims. He hates modifications.
Yep. Definitely toss the the Tesla & keep the Caddy! To see you & Pete laughing like children on an amusement park ride every time the foot was planted, well, it's up to you. Very nice car mate!
I am good to go on commercial frights. My tool is less than 7 inches when in the stowed position. In the ready position, it is not legal to fly. At my age, the ready position is somewhat rare.
I’ve watched every single video & they just keep getting better by the day! Also, great job on the editing max, you’re doing some top tier content! Can’t wait for my Saturday morning on the days off to watch the new video! 🇨🇦
It's awesome seeing you all together! Keep the good stuff coming, this content helps me get through these Wisconsin winters.... I'm ready to get my cars out but it's snowing again today! 🤮
Now that just means we can go have fun in the snow on unplowed roads with our boring 4wd cars, i used my schools parking lot on one weekend and slid around, whats even better is that a bunch of people showed up with no coordination for a meeting
Just drive what u love! I'd keep both: the V for when I wanna feel special on my daily commute and the Tesla for most days I wanna be comfy and surrounded by the latest convenience tech.
That CTS-V wagon is so cool, I would definitely keep it as a daily and weekend car too. Get rid of the Tesla and use the money to upgrade the wagon. Love your channel. Could an old school muscle car be in your future? Like a Chevelle , Nova or even an old Mopar all with a big block engine? Looking forward to more videos.
I've driven one of those on a racetrack and without actually using it for legit daily driving activities, assumed it's the GREATEST DO-EVERYTHING CAR EVER!!! I REALLY WANT one too.
These always hold a special place in my heart. My parents had a Ford Taurus Wagon when I was a kid so I always dig wagons. I got a 2006 GTO which was in the same era as this, and I was priced out of these. I wanted one of the CTS-V sedans so bad. Nice buy, especially from a trusted source like Hoovie!
I’ve been a subscriber for a while now and I love the content. Keep the videos coming! I also live near the Joliet area so it’s nice to see someone local. You guys look like you really enjoy what you do. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
You should probably keep the Caddie on general principles, but the Tesla is undoubtedly a beautiful car which has been modified to your exact specifications. I might go with the Tesla if I were you since you already have the Buick as your gas rocket.
I think you guys would love the Dagiban scene in Japan. They take older dodge vans, modify the crap out of them, and either race them or roll them around downtown Japan. It's awesome.
Yeah, Dajiban's are totally something they'd love. Kinda hard NOT to love seeing massive boxes rolling around on Watanabe's with stretched tires in some insane colour.
I have the White Diamond Tricoat, which I imagine is a bear to match. But after seeing your red. Well, I can tell you the refinish they did is OK. The problem is they should have done the whole side, if not the whole car. For what a V, especially the rare wagon sells for, a complete paint job is justified. But no matter how good the painter is, or how good the paint mixer guy is, conditions like temperature and humidity are going to introduce slight differences in the pearl midcoat that you just can't duplicate like the factory finish.
Awesome video guys keep up the awesome content and a little tip for next time. You come across a diff with glittery fluid flush it out real good before. You fill it back with the fluid that you're gonna leave in it gives it a better chance to last longer or fix it completely....but can't wait to see what else you guys do with that beast of a wagon lol
Love you and Peter’s energy! Reminds me of my youth and had a buddy just like Peter that was always down to make me do silly stuff! Keep it up guys! BTW dump the Tesla! It’s all about petrol! 😂
I have a rare factory speced CTS AWD V6 wagonwith the upgraded premium CTS-V recaro/alcanterra interior option. It was a option for the coupe, wagon, and sedan for the last few years. Love it!! Everytime I take it in to service it at the dealership. They aways offer to buy it. Sorry
just a tip.. when on a road trip you should give your wievers the location or gps cordinates to the spot when you find golden gems like that gas station.. so others can find that place and perhaps help keep places like that alive for the future...
I changed my Diff fluid and added Lucas additive and the rear is almost silent. If the rear seal isn't leaking it is a good deal. Tranny fluid was Morbid!! Check the car fax for the last supercharger replacement. Great video guys!
That is a car that you can buy with a salvaged title (as long as the repairs were performed properly) and be okay with it. There are plenty of cars that have botched accident repairs and show 'no accidents'. Awesome ride, screw the title mark! Keep up the great content, Alex!
Thank you for buying the CTS-V. I had the privilege of driving a 1st generation sedan with the manual transmission. It scared me, it was so fast, and I wasn't able to get beyond 4th gear. It was a fun car to drive, but I know I would get in trouble if I had a rocket as a daily driver. Keep up the great work everyone!
I finished my Grand National with a 50-Hour Restoration! ruclips.net/video/gM0AiLbT7GI/видео.html

Best way to do it… you always realize which one you like over a period of time.
Totally agreed- I actually learn stuff in his videos as opposed to every other CarTube channel that just glosses over the fix.
Literally the best automotive channel on RUclips needs more recognition
Thanks Chris!
How dare you insult Daddy Doug like that.

CTSV wagon with a manual is the family car we all want and need in our lives. Terrible that GM didn’t make more!
If I remember correctly they didn’t sell good at all brand new so the wagon was cut from the lineup

Like always, a terrific video. Best wishes to you, your family, and the LSC team!
I’ve watched every single video & they just keep getting better by the day! Also, great job on the editing max, you’re doing some top tier content!
Can’t wait for my Saturday morning on the days off to watch the new video! 🇨🇦
That sheer look of joy on Peter's face when under full boost and acceleration... iconic!
I'll never tire of watching Peter enjoying taking passenger rides
It’s super sad peter won’t be in the videos any more
#drama
It's awesome seeing you all together!
Keep the good stuff coming, this content helps me get through these Wisconsin winters.... I'm ready to get my cars out but it's snowing again today! 🤮
Now that just means we can go have fun in the snow on unplowed roads with our boring 4wd cars, i used my schools parking lot on one weekend and slid around, whats even better is that a bunch of people showed up with no coordination for a meeting
@@packerman1203 hahaha, for sure! I was just about ready to take my snow tires off my daily.... I think I'm gonna wait a bit now 😁
Just drive what u love!
Just when u think Peter couldn't smile more in an episode of the best car channel ever 😂
@LSC Peter mate I watch from Scotland u cheer everyone up
I've driven one of those on a racetrack and without actually using it for legit daily driving activities, assumed it's the GREATEST DO-EVERYTHING CAR EVER!!! I REALLY WANT one too.
The second half of this video is absolutely hilarious 🤣
One of the best rides home we've had for sure.
How do you even know 🤣 the video hasn’t even been out for 10 minutes
@Ashley Nyamadzawo I'm his editor, Max. I was on this trip and in the car with Alex and Peter lol
@@max_edits_stuff credentials check out lol nice work Max!
@uisperfect email lol thank you!
Alex, the choice is simple. Keep both cars. You work hard and deserve it. Great video as always.
Would have bought a car from this guy?
Yeah. That shady guy is Tyler Hoover 😂.
Sure would haha
When you sale this car. I want to buy it!!!
If the Wizard gave it his approval
I’d buy that car from much shadier people!
Love the work you guys do and the fact that guys pump out the content, you've got a great team.
Just two dudes fixing cars and having fun. What a life!
Love this show, you make it fun, funny and more interesting than any other car channels!
That’s a pretty good story about the peaches!! “It’s never right to do wrong and it’s never wrong to do right” damn good quote
I love the smile on Peter every time Alex hits the gas hahahaha
55:35 “Your one of those old men that lost their hearing up top” - Peter. My dad can’t hear that high pitch noise either😂
Love you and Peter’s energy! Reminds me of my youth and had a buddy just like Peter that was always down to make me do silly stuff! Keep it up guys! BTW dump the Tesla! It’s all about petrol! 😂
You had me at “shady used car salesman”
I have a rare factory speced CTS AWD V6 wagonwith the upgraded premium CTS-V recaro/alcanterra interior option. It was a option for the coupe, wagon, and sedan for the last few years. Love it!! Everytime I take it in to service it at the dealership. They aways offer to buy it. Sorry
finally, the purchase we all knew was coming! 😂
As a Californian, I have to say, that if it's not for sale in California, it is the good stuff!
just a tip.. when on a road trip you should give your wievers the location or gps cordinates to the spot when you find golden gems like that gas station.. so others can find that place and perhaps help keep places like that alive for the future...

Hi dud I want to work with you please give me a chance I'll doing everything for you please give me a chance
Quit voting for your enslavement 😢
I agree Alex, I don't know why, but there is something about having and driving a 15 passenger van. Love em!
Hmm beating on that "wagon" peter :).
You're Italian...why aren't you driving a Cadillac?
10:55 "Yeah!" Said in the way only a true car enthusiast could! 😊
Disappointed that The Wizard wasn't wearing his belt!!! 😮
Loving the night buddy head lamp
Thank you for buying the CTS-V. I had the privilege of driving a 1st generation sedan with the manual transmission. It scared me, it was so fast, and I wasn't able to get beyond 4th gear. It was a fun car to drive, but I know I would get in trouble if I had a rocket as a daily driver. Keep up the great work everyone!
