Yeah i wasn't too impressed seeing that either. I know even brand new engines have blow-by but these higher revving guys with turbo's i think spew out a bit more than i anticipated.
It's got a hydrophobic pre-filter on it. (fancy word for water-resistant) I had my x3 out yesterday after installing this in the snow and we broke through a few water/mud holes. It's stayed surprisingly clean. that frame rail is not over top of the rear tire either, so anything that it flings up goes by it and not on it. I think it will be just fine. Even in thicker mud.

Been thinking of getting one for my proxp. When I put the rpm charge tube on, my oem tube was super oily inside.

Interesting. Curious would the exhaust filter on the catch can not get coated in mud where it is located making it hard to vent?
