    Just found you tutorial for this closure ,I’m going to be trying that on the next hat I make for my granddaughter’s boyfriend .. I’m a crochet and yes it is a slip stitch you are doing 😉..waves from across the pond in the UK .. 👋 xx

      Yes I believe so. It creates a different hat shape. I think this closure looks better when you aren’t going to use a pom pom.

    Save time and connect the two ends while still on the machine, like when you make a brim. Saves time, try it out

      Yes it does! It’s a good closure when you don’t want to use a pom pom

    Does 150 turn out to be a slouchy hat? I’ve done 135 with the folded brim and it turns out more fitted.

      It’s not slouchy, but not fitted either if that makes sense. For a smaller head it might be more of slouch and then for a larger head it might be more fitted. For the middle of the two it has a bit of length on the top but not enough to be slouchy.

    A slip stitch would be better. You were not doing a slip stitch.

      It’s the yarn I was using at the time. I think you still got the idea though... I’ll remember that for next time
