I'm from China. I was attracted by the video of you opening a grocery store. I didn't expect you to sell him in the end. I wish you shine in the new industry.
This is the content I’ve been waiting for 🥳 the insight is unmatched and you’re pretty. I don’t think I would open a grocery store unless it’s for a reason outside of money. I would do it for community.
Reetu you have learnt a lot with this buisness. Sometimes the circumstances are not in our favour in some buisnesses and so was in your case but still you are growing and that makes me Happy😊!
It is sad to hear you sold your store, but I am sure bigger things are heading your way. It is definitely tough to operate my grocery store with the cost of goods increasing with all this post COVID inflation. This is why I diversified the income inside my convenience store by adding a meat market and also offering financial services like check cashing and money transfers. All this extra revenue is one hundred percent profit since you are already covering the cost of rent, employees, and other operating costs.
Wow, it's crazy to see the start and end of the grocery store. I've been a fan ever since late 2020. Your videos are so insightful and motivating. I'm excited to see what your next endeavor will be
Hi Reetu ! Great video and Thanks for sharing your experience! I run a small grocery store in Melbourne and struggling a lot . Is there any way that I can reach you to get some advice if you have some free time ? Thanks in advance!
Nice vid Reetu. In the Caribbean grocery stores are profitable businesses, but the stress of owning one might be a little too much for me. I'll have to pass..🥂😄
When I'm inside a store I always wonder how they plan/try to predict which products to offer and also at what price. May I ask how you did this? And how you analyzed the sales statistics?
Restaurant, cafe, grocery store all are major loss making businesses in this economy. It is beyond oversaturated, whoever I meet, wanna start one of these businesses. If you dont take risk and stand out from the crowd, the profit will also be mediocre, in most cases even negative.
Yes, sadly the increase in food prices are destroying those businesses. On top of that, the city (especially where I'm from), just permits restaurants and cafes to open up everywhere. Makes no sense
Most gas stations are ran by employees, especially when it's a franchise. The only thing is those cost hundreds of thousands if not millions. If you have the means and have the time to wait to get your initial investment back, I would say yes.
almost all grocery stores under one person or family ownership are doing extremely bad. there are very big players like loblaws, shoppers, walmart. no way one could beat them without some groundbreaking innovation or differentiator
@@scientistjam yeh i know it's hard but if a person give something really new and innovative thing to public , then one can be as good as well known store🙃
I'm not comprehending your exit from the business. Throughout history, manufacturers and wholesalers raise prices...and retailers adjust accordingly. 🤷🏻♂️ You add xx% margin and the pass along the inflation to the consumer. 🥴 Are you trying to infer that consumers quit coming to your store because of global price inflation? That I find hard to believe.
Would you open a grocery store? 🤔
no, very big players already
It's my dream to open a great cafe 😊
@@joyful_journey123 yes cafe is much better business, if its in a high traffic area

It's always about the price.. Sometime when you are getting a good price it's better to sell it rather than holding on
Thank you for this video! I have a building and we have considered a corner market. I appreciate your video!

Thank you for sharing your story and info. Can you let us know if you earned a profit overall when you made the sale?
Can you talk about the numbers? Like the lease, etc.

online businesses + social media

I couldn't compete with big retailers. They for sure get better deals then me which means they were able to price cheaper
